Charlie's Bakery and Cafe

Food was phenomenal. The service was good even when they were very busy with the lunch rush. The atmosphere is comfortable and the bakery smells amazing

We stopped into Charlie's for breakfast before leaving Las Vegas, New Mexico. Located in the downtown area, it is a local spot. The service was great, the food very good and the atmosphere was like a local diner which we love and appreciate.The portions passing by us to go to other tables looked large, so we decided to split a mushroom and cheese omelet, and I am so glad we did. A three egg omelet is just to much for me alone, so I took about a quarter of the omelet, and a small spoonful of the potatoes. Both were delicious and it was a good hearty breakfast before we headed out on the road.There is plenty of street parking out front, and it is a good spot too if you are shopping and exploring downtown Las Vegas, New Mexico.

We stopped by to grab some take out breakfast on our way through town. The place is super unique and interesting on the outside. Inside it feels more like a classic diner. I had a maple donut and breakfast quesadilla. Both were spot on! Also, made sure to grab some homemade tortillas to bring home. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely go back!

One of our all time favorite spots. Great food and great people. I get Christmas on the side because they are both so good.

Really cool fun place. We were here over thanksgiving weekend and so happy we found this cool local spot. Portions are HUGE, my burrito made 3 meals. And the vibe is very nice, they definitely embrace diversity (thank you). They bake their own items like tortillas and breads. We took to go bakery stuff 2 days. Their Carne Adovada is very good. Red Chile based and spicy. And their green chili is the style I like also. They sell both if you are not from NM and want to take home "real" chili ie not from Texas not from Colorado (sorry to friends in those states). Artwork is really cool including a collage media art piece of a Herb Albert album. Unfortunately I am pretty sure none of the folks that work there were born when that album came out. Next time we go will be back here.

Homestyle, hearty, generous Mexican food! Hot tortillas, chewy and salty, comfort saucers! The salsa is chunky, spicey, and Fresca! The Carne adovada was tender and savory, with perfectly executed over-easy eggs. The rellenos are "fair food" crispy fried perfection oozing delicate white cheese. The red sauce is milder with a slight red chili bitterness. But the green sauce shines with complicated spiciness. Coffee a watery meh, but when you have such delicious food, coffee can slide! Service was impeccable! Audrey was friendly and attentive, bringing extra hot tortillas and salsa seasoned with dimpled smiles! This place is a "must" experience!

The food is pretty decent. It was not something I would come back for, but it was a nice stop! The donuts were pretty good too. We were sat in a weird spot where it seemed like we were in everyone's way. There were lots of people shimmying around us. However, we did get a table where we could watch the tortillas being made. It is a very eclectic and fun vibe. Lots of art to look at!

Classic in-town diner with a long history. Good portions. Good service. Nice staff. Obscene size pastries.

I ordered a stuffed sopapilla with chicharones it was taste the red chili was thick and very bland. did not enjoy!! on scale it was a 2 out of 10. I will not return too much money for bland tasteless food!!
