Back to school after 25 years.CNM follows my model of it's the same thing, only 10 times cheaper. Point of reference: UNM. Hilarity does ensue though. Apparently, for some of my exams I must purchase my own scantron at the bookstore, 25 cents. I bought a parking permit which generally means that I put $3.00 in a meter if I can find one even if I come 40 minutes early for class. My other exams require my laptop to have a working webcam and microphone, I've spent more time trying to learn the technology than trying to learn the material so far, which has been voluminous. I have the books in downloadable form, and then I bought the hard copies (it's incredible they won't bind a $100 book) and then I have my notes from class. I am not sure what I am doing, but it's taking 3-4 hours a day after classes. They do not know who they are dealing with. I am magna cum laude from NYU, surely I can get a B if I can make enough flash cards. I've scored a 40% on my first exam, as I wasn't sure what the instructor was getting at and I hadn't examined the right handout. I am giving CNM 4 stars because there needs to be a place to get an associate degree or the first two years of university or prerequisites for a master's that is reasonably priced, especially if one is not working.

Outstanding people, place, and possibilities. This is a terrific school, and i only wish I had found it before I found UNM. I have had better instructors here than at UNM, for a lot less. Many of the instructors teach at both places, so why pay more. Get your AA here, then transfer.

Wonderful college for those just starting out or looking for an associates degree. Central New Mexico Community College is perfect for those trying to get an associates degree for less than half the cost of a regular University. All of my instructors have been very helpful and caring throughout my education so far. Not one has been difficult or hard to work with and most instructors have office hours where you can get help after class times if you are struggling. I like being in smaller classes where instructors know you and are able to help you if you are having difficulty. Save your money and attend CNM first before you attend a University.

I applied to CNM main Albuquerque for many times in different positions but found the hiring process disappointing. It seemed that reputation was prioritized over qualifications and experience, as I was rejected for roles that matched or were below my skill level. I ts really toxic environment.

Definitely needs work as far as administration goes. When I first went there in 2010-2011 there was very little interdepartmental communication. Different departments (FA, Registration, records etc) only had part of the story and it left the student to figure it out like they knew what to do. Finding answers to basic questions on getting into school needed to be pried from officials, people would get passed around from department to department like numbers with little regard for peoples individual circumstances. I got overwhelmed and dropped out eventually. I decided to return now more than a decade later and it's the exact same dumpster fire. People don't know how to streamline getting into school there. I had advisors telling me my prerequisite all done and I gained agreement with them over this using specific language. A week later I find out that wasn't the truth on my own. And when I went there in person to get this info again they dance around their words. Once I found out that everything was squared away for summer semester like they told me it was, my access to my account and school email are frozen because of policies that are not immediately apparent. So I have to reapply. I keep expecting those funding or credits because of some stupid policy they dont tell you about in my sleep. It's eroded my confidence in their ability to handle my records and personal information.

Made a phone appointment. Was told someone would call me back in 24-48 hours. That was last week. Nobody ever called. Pretty bad for a community college to do that. I was a potential student. Now I changed my mind. I'll go somewhere else.

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the treatment I received as a DACA recipient at this local community college. Despite residing in the same city as the college, I was charged out-of-state fees, which resulted in a 404.76% increase in costs. This is particularly unfair as I pay state taxes on every paycheck I earn, contributing to the funding of this public institution. In Texas, I did not have this problem as I was able to fill out a residency affidavit. However, it seems as though my status as a DACA recipient is being used as an excuse to discriminate against me and charge me more. This is a clear case of taxation without representation and I feel as though my money is not worth the same as anyone else's.It is unacceptable for a public institution to take advantage of its students in this way and discriminate against a specific group of individuals. I will not be attending this college and will be seeking alternative options.

I applied to few colleges but wanted to go to CNM for a certain program they provided. I applied over a week before summer classes so I could knockout pre recs. I got admitted in the other colleges within a day CNM to this day still hasn't completed it. I've sent them my drivers license 3 times over email, so I know there's zero pass on or communication within there team. I work and live on base so you think confirming my residency and identification would be easier.
