CBS Chimney Sweepers

This was the second company that I contacted about possibly cleaning and repairing my chimney and firebox. The administrative assistant who answers the phone is an asset to the company in my humble opinion. She is professional, courteous, and very friendly and bubbly on the phone. It's been a long time since I've had this level of customer service, but I've lucked out with two great companies this month. Clayton came out and inspected my chimney and let me know that I had some creosote. This tracks because I don't use my fireplace all that often but I do use it every year. He explained creosote and what happens with it to me, but suggested that we hold off since it was not to a level that I needed a deep cleaning. Clayton also let me know that I needed to have my firebox repaired as many of the spaces in between the bricks were missing mortar. I was expecting this because I had noticed that the mortar had burned off over the last few years. Again, he explained very carefully what happens if you don't take care of the specific issue and how it can damage your home. I really appreciated the attention to detail and the comprehensive explanation given to me. I ended up scheduling a second visit with them so the firebox could be repaired.Clayton was professional, kind, and courteous. He explains things exceptionally well and lets you know what to expect. They are transparent with their pricing so again, you know what you are paying for and they are in line, price-wise, with other chimney sweeps.I will definitely be using CBS again. As far as I'm concerned, they're my new chimney sweep. I highly recommend them if you have any issues with your firebox or your chimney.

Stay away from this sleazy disreputable company. There are other providers who will do the job with honesty and integrity. (First Aid Chimney Care)October 2023: Cleaning service. "Fireplace is in good working condition, full inspection shows no defects.Over the year we had 2 firesAugust 2024: Cleaning and re-inspection. "Fireplace is very damaged and unsafe, needs $2700.00 worth of work.Tried to speak to the owner, but he's too much of a bitchboy to get on the phone and lets his office clerk handle questioning customers. I ended up using another provider and guess what?? "Fireplace is in good working condition and shows no defects."

This is my first year with this company, but it won't be my last. Clayton arrived exactly on time, spent about an hour cleaning the chimney and fireplace insert, replaced broken bricks in the firebox, and left with the area around the stove spotless. I'm impressed.

I would not use these guys again. They will tell you over the phone the price for an inspection is $180 then when they get there and inspect your chimney, they will tell you that you need the "other" inspection which costs $100 MORE.Also was told the inspector would burn some wood to test but he said he wouldn't when he got there....Just not really a business I want to give any more money to.Will try the other guys next time.Bummer.

CBS is our go to when it is time to turn off the AC and start using the fireplace. They always do a fantastic job.They are always on time and super professional. As a woman, I feel 100% confident having them in my house when my husband is not here and that's not something I can say for a lot of service companies. Even though we use them yearly, they always take the time to explain their process and ask if we have had any problems with the fireplace. If they find any issues, they give us an estimate. If they find a safety issue, it becomes an inspection.I really cannot stress enough how much we love working with them. Seriously - they are on time to the dot and do exactly what they say they will every single time! It is amazing!

Pricey (additional travel fee added) but tech was friendly and professional. Did a great job.

Yearly service 10 years .We used them every year . They told us our chimney was cracked so we got a second opinion and it is not cracked . When I pointed it out to them they refused to reimburse service which we had to do since it had denied been done properly. so we stopped them after 10 yrs service on three houses. We were told they often crack it themselves then tell you it is damaged after they damage it.Good business if they damage it then charge you to fix what was a routine cleaning if three basically little used fireplaces. 2 were gas . Crack a gas powered fireplace flue . I dare you!

Basically a young high school guy who did not seem to know anything about inspection or size of chimney cap. He cleaned the fireplace, so-so and that was it.I am so concerned that I am going to find someone else to come in and inspect it. I mean, fireplaces are a serious business. Right?

Benjamin and his assistant did an excellent job! Knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. They left our home clean, our stove in excellent working order, and did not leave until all our questions answered. The office staff is very nice and easy to work with. We highly recommend them!

The folks at CBS Chimney Sweepers did an excellent job! Juan arrived on time and quickly set up the work space in the house and then prepared his ladder to climb with his tools. The cleaning was thorough, efficient and very professional. Juan completed the service and cleaned up the workspace, leaving no evidence that he was there. Everything was professional!
