I love to visit Casa Rondẽna, less for the wine but more for the quiet, tranquil, beautiful grounds.Don't get me wrong--their wine is well worth the visit, but I rarely drink in general. Years ago, I did live on a vineyard for a year, so I know a little bit about wine, but I'm not an expert. With that said, here in the Albuquerque area, Casa Rondẽna is one of the top three wineries I go to when I want to give wine as a gift. Check out their award-winning vintages, 2008 Meritage and 2009 1629.When you enter their world, it feels like you're in a Spanish countryside chateau with vineyard and manicured grounds. Their buildings, after all, are pre-romanesque Iberian-inspired architecture. You can lose yourself while here. So, if you're looking for a quiet place to chill out for an afternoon, escape from the madness, come here, do the wine tasting, get some of their snacks, and gaze at the beauty while lounging in one of their comfortable chairs. Bring home a bottle of wine. You'll be happy you did and feel very restored.

A getaway oasis in Albuquerque - I honestly feel like I'm not in ABQ when I visit Casa Rodena. The wines are good, but the atmosphere is even better. Must visit! Private parking lot with ample parking available.

I was in town for the Albuquerque Balloon fiesta when my friend and I decided to stop at a local winery after our stroll through Old Town in Albuquerque. This winery was amazing. The drive there was sooo unassuming and you would never assume there was such a magnificent winery hidden in Albuquerque. We opted for the refrigerated meat and cheese available as well as a red wine tasting tower for me and a white wine tasting tower for her. The outdoor seating choices were amazing. There was seating in front of the pond that had a fountain or under vines. Most seating was shaded. Both the red and white wine had good body and flavor and very enjoyable to drink. If you are ever in Albuquerque this is a must stop for the ambiance and the wine.

Great ambience. Very beautiful and relaxing. We tried twice to have a drink here but tonight we made it. What a beautiful place. So relaxing and the blend wine was amazing. We need to come back for sure.

They had snacks in the cooler up front charcuterie boards and stuff like that. The gentleman at the wine bar was very nice and friendly. The place is absolutely beautiful inside and out, with a beautiful Lake! This was my first visit to a Winery.

As wine connoisseurs and having tried so many vineyards across the country and enjoy wine tasting often, as well as keeping a modest wine cellar (a closet really) at home - we continue to be surprised and amazed that the Southwest has so many worthwhile, up-and-coming wineries. As many are aware, if you're a wine lover, wine is very subjective and varies from one's own palate and preference. Due to rather diverse variances in each experience, or trying to compare one winery, vineyard, grape or wine to another, I have developed a method in scoring that will give both the occasional novice wine taster or the most sophisticated connoisseur a bearing on each establishment by visited, based on our single, or sometimes multiple visits to each location. My guidelines are: 1) beauty of location and its scenery [Scored:5.0 ] ; 2) the establishment's appearance and ambience [Scored:4.5]; 3) the owner/operators' attention to their customers and hospitality [Scored:5.0]; 4) activities, events and/or meals/munchies/entertainment [Scored:4.0 ]; 5) wine selection, quality, taste and varieties [Scored:4.0 ]; and 6) heavily weighted on our taste [Scored:4.5 ]; as well as 7) value, consistency and price of the product [Scored:3.5 ]. None of the aforementioned are in any particular order of value. The scale being 1 the worst, 5 the best and recommended and our overall assessment by score and/or pro/cons are: being a wonderful place to spend leisurely time enjoying the scenery and tranquility in beautiful rustic and greens, while enjoying the great varietals as Viogniers, Cabernet Francs, Merlots, Sparkling Wines and some Chardonnay Blends, and scores a whopping 4.35 in our appreciation. Extremely well worth the visit and sipping.

Wonderful atmosphere, self-serve wine bar fun and informative. Lots of things to do other than idle chatter, if that's your desire. I liked the wine selection, my spouse loved them. Charcuterie was good (albeit a bit rustic!)

It was a cold, kinda wet day when we visited so we were relegated to the indoor seating, whish is rather limited for a larger party. Since we had several people in our party that were mobility impaired we ended up taking over the largest table and moving the "taste me" display to the side and begging other less full tables for their extra chairs. It is pretty much self serve and I thought the flights were pricy for what was I got, but we tried both the red and white flights. Was not aware there were beer options until I read other reviews. I guess I crave more in a wine tasting experience.

One of my favorite places in Albuquerque. Whether you are local or just visiting, I highly recommend you visit this beautiful vineyard. I finally signed up, I don't know why I waited so long to be a member.

I really love this place. It's so peaceful and natural. You feel like you're away from the city even though you're only ten minutes away. You can even book the venue for weddings or special events!Their wine selections are really good and they switch out bottles depending on the season. The prices are fair and affordable. The bartenders are very informed on the wines they are serving. Sometimes they have specials such as sangrias and they also taste really good. The snack options are over priced for sure, so make sure you're coming in with a full tummy or heading to dinner right after.
