I was so excited to stop here finally when it was open but so disappointed. First I should say the staff was very sweet so nothing against them. Worst Chile rellenos- well up there in the worst I've had. Batter was thick no fluff at all and it came soggy. Cheese was like mild cheddar I just prefer Monterey. Posole was bland, beans meh. Sopapilla was ok but nothing standout. It just was not very good seemed premade and reheated Desserts were overrated too. Had a couple chocolates a white chocolate peppermint and lemon crunch. They just amazed up peppermint candies and lemon heads and set them in white chocolate. Not bad but not what I expected. The strawberry rhubarb hand pies were not very good- crust or filling wise. The lemon meringue wasn't better than any mediocre store bought one from a Walmart or somewhere. Nice staff, disappointing food. Have tailored expectations if you visit but maybe mine was a fluke.

Rarely open. The posted business hours are not followed by this establishment. Coming to eat at this place, expecting the place to be open based on posted business hours, only to find that it is closed - again. Given that most local diners, in this very rural area, must travel to destinations it is above frustrating to always find this place closed. For this reason, I do not recommend wasting time trying to find them open for business.

Traveled to pecos to go fishing and saw this place up to the lake. Stopped on the way out. My son got the beef taco with rice and he likes it. My uncle got the beef fajitas and liked it very much it came with all the fixing for fajitas. Lettuce,tomatoes,sour cream, cheese,and tortillas. The sour cream comes in a little packet and was very good. My auntie had the special of the day that was a steak with and enchilada,mashed potatoes and beans with a dessert for $8.50 the dessert was bread pudding with piñon. I had the green chili cheese enchiladas and ate the whole thing. The chili was spicy and the beans cooked to perfection. Over all everything was cheap and delicious.

Hands DOWN the best New Mexican food I have ever had! Me and my wife eat here at least once a week. You really need Eat here if you like great New Mexican food.

So good every time we go! My favorite red and green chili in all of New Mexico. Our go-to choices are the Chile rellenos, tacos, and JoAnn's tasty desserts. If you get the chance, try the specials of the day. Family run and always friendly service.

Old School New Mexican food. Old School New Mexican dark, dusty atmosphere. Anything with green salsa is worth the drive from S. Fe.The service can be slow, but sometimes good food takes a while.Have another beer while you wait.

Had a great lunch at Casa de Herrera today--for New Mexico food, it doesn't get any better than this.

Nothing to complain about here, but nothing to write home about either. I'm not quite sure how I ended up in Pecos, but I am happy to have found this place to get dinner (thanks to the previous yelper). I had enchiladas with green sauce that was very tasty and my friend had chili rellenos, and our order came out pretty quickly. The place is deceptively large and hilariously decorated, but it was a great experience. If I return to Pecos you would most likely find me eating here again.

The absolute best New Mexican style cuisine I've in a few years! Chile had an awesome taste and just the right amount of spice. Beautiful little location nestled in the beautiful mountains. Definitely my new favorite restaurant in the area and worth the drive if you want to get out of the city.

Really good New Mexican cuisine! Classic dishes. Incredible desserts. Service is super - exactly what I've come to expect from family-style New Mexican restaurants!
