Capitol Bar & Brewery

The staff gets 5/5 stars, great people. Unfortunately we struck out with the food menu due to some logistical challenges- so we got the hot dogs that weren't very hot, but honestly the taste was not terrible. Drinks (for those who partook) were priced fairly and served quick. The bar itself has a pretty cool history and I suggest asking the staff about the late 1800's and prohibition era.

If you like dive bars this is the place for you. It's one of the oldest in New Mexico. Very eclectic and cool history. The staff was friendly and accommodating. And it's reasonably priced. The only reason for a dropped star is the drink strength was hit or miss some strong some weak and some just right. All in all the Capitol is a must visit bar in Socorro

Really solid food, good beer and absolutely excellent service. Very cool place inside and out. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

It is a cool place to stop by for an adult beverage. Not a go-to food destination. Megan the bartender was very attentive.

We are from Socorro and have spent many an evening in The Capitol! However, we don't visit very often and this our first time in The Capitol since 2004. We really like what Joanna and Earl have done with the place. It is bright and clean, the food menu looks great (we showed up late so we didn't try any food), and the beer selection was awesome! Great selection of their own brew and tons of other options. We tried the Jailbreak IPA and it was delicious. Nice citrus flavors and no bitterness. Finally and most importantly the service was top-notch. Roxy was friendly, attentive and professional. She explained that she was new and had to check with the more experienced person when we had questions. She was able to get answers quickly from the other staff member. Unfortunately we did not get her name because she was also very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We will definitely be back to The Capitol when we visit Socorro again!.

Created an account just to say how awful that bartender was Tiffany acted completely out of line and was yelling at the top of her lungs to paying customers. Never witnessed anything like it. Would be embarrassed if I were her, acting like that AT WORK.

NOT FIRST RESPONDER FRIENDLY. Went there with some other students , Sat at a table. No one greeted us, we sat at table for 20 mins with no service. Not a packed bar at the time we were there. I proceeded to the bar and observed a male and female bartender there. I was on the female bartenders side with maybe 5 people.. she served was talking to all the patrons there , looked at me and left.. I would see her pop out and talk to patrons and leave. The male bartender did the same . He kept waiting on the everyone , came over to us and only spoke to us when we were the last to order. He then took our order, and waited on other people before getting our beers . Did not feel welcomed there, despite having FD and Police shirts and patches on the wall. We finished our beers and left. Too bad as the beer was decent. Food menu was limited as well.

waited 75 mins for 2 pizzas. took them to go as the wait is unacceptable. there is no menu on the website so was also very disappointed with the lack of toppings.

Their Pinene sandwiches are to die for. Their selection of beers is very good as is their house margarita. Ignore the bogus reviews from East and West Coast trolls as well as city folk; this place is authentic Old West.
