Another successful Sunday breakfast here! It is a great choice if you're in the area and want an inexpensive bite to eat! Like other reviewers, it is a locally owned restaurant. Usually there are only a few people here and they let you choose where you sit. The food is good and I love getting my food smothered with chili.

Small family owned place close to downtown. Not too far from either UNMH or Pres if you're looking for something close to the hospitals. Not sure if this is the norm, but we could choose where to sit. Food was out quickly. Our waiter was super friendly. The husband ordered menudo (huge bowl is how to best describe it) and I got the tamale plate with red chile. Many places you go will serve tamales with more masa than meat. Here is the exact opposite. First bite and all I got was meat. Very flavorful. Plate came with refried beans and rice for your sides. Overall good food.

This is the second time in a year I was able to score tamales in time for Christmas at a reasonable price! Don't let the secret out. I haven't had the pleasure of dining in myself however it always smells amazing! Friendly staff and good food make this hidden gem worth finding. Tamales are frozen and $25 for a dozen if anyone is still looking! Merry Christmas!

So we happened to drive by and this place stood out, so we decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed! They have a diverse menu with breakfast all day, Mexican food and burgers. I ordered the quesabirria which comes with four tacos with cheese and consommé. It was absolutely delicious not too greasy. My mom ordered the cheese quesadilla which came with tomatoes inside sour cream, guacamole salsa, and regular salsa and my sister got the beef and shredded chicken taco plate. The chips and salsa were so good. I think I ate the entire order by myself! I did not get a full picture of my food because I ate it so fast lol definitely a place for people to try if you want something new. The service was great. They are super nice and my order was out quick. Will for sure be back!!

First time here, and I ordered the chile relleno plate in green to go. Excellent! Enough to kick start your engine but not too hot that'll make you blow up! I especially like the rice and beans-they are well prepared. I can't wait to return to try something else.

We're always on the lookout for small Mexican food places. This fits the bill - menu is breakfast & lunch, closing late afternoon. It was easy to locate and find a place to park. It's modern, bright and plenty of seating. Plus they serve menudo on the weekend. Probably a good thing - selecting anything else would have difficult. The menu was loaded with options. Menudo it was - 2 huge bowls loaded with tripe, we opted out of the feet, without much hominy. Excellent flavor and a little spicy. Add a little cebolla y cilantro - perfecto! Needless to say nearly a bowl of it went home with us. The horchata was great - very creamy but not overly sweet. Service was excellent, someone stopped by to check on us frequently. Great service and great food is a winning combination!

Came here on a whim. Was a little nervous at first as we were the only ones in the restaurant at 9 am. I was surprised at how good it was. Eggs over easy were cooked perfectly. The red Chile was flavorful but no heat. I loved the papitas and bacon was also good. Server spoke primarily Spanish but was able to communicate. Will return.

I stumbled on this place because Monroe's was closed that day. The service was very friendly and the the food was excellent. I fully recommend.

More like 3.5 stars. Although the server was very fast & efficient, the kitchen was fairly slow. Could be cus husband ordered steak ranchero & eggs..I ordered huevos rancheros. There was one other customer in the place & a lady came in that had a phone order.Drinks were quick - a coffee & a Coke Zero - chips & salsa were free. When food finally arrived, looked great (see pics). Potato chunks with huevos rancheros were nice & crisp & beans very smooth & creamy. The green chile did not have the "bite" I was hoping for - that we had gotten at every other meal, so a little disappointed. Eggs were perfect, but flour tortilla was a little hard & pretty small (maybe 5-6" diameter).Steak was tender, but husband asked for Christmas & only got red chile...also said chile was not at all spicy.So, bottom line - plenty of food, but could have used a little more flavor/spice.
