This review is in regards to our recent wedding. When we decided to get married earlier in the year, having a food truck cater was 1 of 3 things on my must have list. We spent many weeks sampling food trucks and discussing our ideas with a few of them. When I heard Pasion Latin Fusion had recently acquired the taco truck I was ecstatic!! PLF is by far one of my favorite local eateries. We met with Elvis a few times before our wedding and he just gave us that warm fuzzy feeling you want when you're planning this once in a lifetime event. He is passionate about what he does and it definitely showed during the planning process. With his help we put together a fantastic menu that only cost us $17 per person. You really can't find that anywhere else when you're looking to serve fresh food in a timely manner to 100 people. They did a great display of appetizers, provided homemade aqua frescas, and managed to deliver the entrees in record timing. We heard nothing but wonderful things from all our guests! We offered bacon wrapped plantains and chips and guac for apps. For entrees we offered the pork arepas, fish tacos, and chicken stew. Everything was delicious.I'll admit I was leaning towards 4 stars because of a couple of small issues day of the wedding - But I have to cut them some slack, we were only the 2nd wedding they'd catered. I hope this truck sticks around for a long while!

The Torta ahogada and Robert Irvine cubano are fantastic! This is Pasion's mobile gig so if you've been to Pasion you know what to expect: lots of complex recipes rooted in Cuban and Sur American motives. The prices are fair, so I went back for more. I hope to see them around more often!

Go ahead, label me a sexist pig, this is just too obvious to ignore: when it comes to the Albuquerque food truck dating scene, this little box has had her share of lovers, and her fish tacos are fantasy-worthy.The food truck revolution kicked off in Burque about two years ago. Sure, there was a culture preceding what we knew then, but Dia de los Tacos was one of the first to deliver restaurant quality meals to the people, Baja California style. Anyone who enjoyed a morsel of those unbelievable fish tacos will attest that we'd never tried anything like 'em. And like so many revolutionary artisans of the 505, as soon as they hit the big time, they ditched us. So goes our sad narrative (I'm looking at you, James Mercer). Immediate in their wake, The Last Call picked up the trailer, dusted her off and rebranded her the TLC Taco Box. Once again, TLC kicked out Baja-style fish wraps that absolutely astonished the tongue. The tacos were back... for about a year. The latest incarnation, in TLC's wake, is Calle Ocho, the brainchild of one of ABQ's best eateries, Pasion Latin Fusion. I managed to visit on opening day, and I'm guessing the menu will expand in the near future. The options on Friday night were pretty minimal, but they lived up to the pedigree of the previous inhabitants and (surprise) the new incarnation serves up a divine, deliriously delicious pescado taco. Pickled red cabbage, two fried sticks of seafood glory, a white sauce that draped my knuckles and a solid, foldable-but-stiff homemade tortilla absolutely killed it. The cubano taco was very tasty, as well: two meats, pickle, cheese and a little spice, both orders made for a tasty meal that satisfied two appetites for about ten bones. Calle Ocho, we know you, oh yes we do. Reimagine yourself any way you wish, your bones are still your box, and your tacos are still some of the very best in Burque.

Oh, lordy! I tried Calle Ocho for the first time on Saturday night at Summerfest and had the Torta Ahogada and Fish Taco--hubby and I shared and they were SO delicious. I cannot say enough about the Torta--the pork was delicious and moist and the black beans that drowned the sandwich were perfect...and now my mouth is watering again. Must...find...Calle Ocho...NOW!

Pasión has long been one of my "why has nobody heard of this place?" restaurants. With their appearance on TV, the word has gotten out a little bit more, but Burque is still in the dark about the delicious flavors they combine in each dish that go far beyond red or green. Calle Ocho presents only a few items daily (which sadly didn't include my favorite Pasión dish of empanadas), but each was made to order, seemed delicious (I looked at the faces of my fellow UNM students as they chowed down; nothing but satisfaction!), and were a great price!I had a cactus taco, which featured a few pieces of nopales, a rich red chile sauce, and avocado (substituted graciously for cheese), with a squeeze of lime on the side. Delicious! The tortilla threatened to fall apart at any moment, but I was able to eat it with minimal mess and no blowout.I hope to run into this truck again and try their fish tacos. I am currently fiercely loyal to the dollar tacos at The Last Call, but I'm always on the lookout for "THE BEST"- let's make this happen, Calle Ocho! Where y'all at?
