Cake's Cafe

Cake's is the locals go-to spot, cuz we know what's really good around here!The food is delicious, and they have everything you want no matter what your hunger level. Sometimes, my go to is one of their yummy pastries, but if I'm real hungry, I'll go for a breakfast burrito or a Panini with a side salad.The service is so good you leave feeling like an old friend of the staff. They are warm, engaging, and always happy to see you. The ambience is chill with plenty of places to sit and chat or work. There's good music playing in the background and great events going on throughout the week at various staggered times. The location is smack dab in downtown with a gorgeous view of the famous Seret and Sons from their large windows that let in tons of lovely natural light.There's also a cool bar area you could sit out and work from or chitchat with a friend.Thank you, Cake's Team! This place is really cute, and seems like it has a great atmosphere. The ambiance and seating is great.However, I wouldn't say I had a great experience. I ordered a Mexican Mocha, and while good, it didn't taste spiced as advertised. Additionally, it was a double, but costed over $10.Lastly, the woman working at the counter wasn't particularly nice. At the counter, she was straight to the point in a way that felt a little harsh/aggressive. I've been a barista for a couple places over a few years, and never found myself talking to customers that way.My partner was waiting for me outside the restroom, and she rudely told him it wasn't a public restroom. He explained that he was just waiting for me, and that I had in fact made a purchase, but she still responded in a rude tone before she walked away. I completely understand the concern over the restrooms, but approaching the situation with rudeness is unnecessary, especially once explained. I'm glad we stopped by, and I'm sure this is a nice place that people enjoy. Based on other ratings, it seems to be great usually. It just happens to be that my experience today was on the poorer side.

Great breakfast food from scratch and friendly service. Cool local cafe with a nice menu and breakfast all day. Walked here, but parking in this part of Santa Fe requires some planning or walking. Definitely worth giving this spot a try, we will likely be back for more!

I fell into this place upon arriving in Sante Fe today. I started with a Mexican Cacoa coffee drink and then got a roasted green chili pannini. YUM to both. The sandwich comes with a variety of side options. I chose a green salad with balsamic viniagrette. The place is funky, wirh good music playing and is very dog friendly- hence the relaxed dog pic. There was a tarot gal on location for the day, if you wish for a reading Cha-cha was the gal running the place. She's welcoming, friendly, informative and quick. Loved the vibe!

Fun little to go to after hours. They have themed nights and very nice staff. Sometimes a secret menu too!

4.5 overall. Great find. We two stopped in for coffee and pastries.COFFEE: 5.0. The server suggested Mexican Mocha. I ordered a regular and my wife a decaf. Outstanding taste.PASTRIES: 3.5. We both had a chocolate croissant (aka pain au chocolat). Warmed up; very good.SERVICE: 5.0. She was wonderful. Very proactive and accomodating.AMBIANCE: 4.5. Funky. Friendly. While we were having coffee, a gentleman came in and announced to us and other customers that he was about to start providing free chess lessons/pointers at one of the tables and that we were welcome to join.

This is an artsy spot serving a handful of food options. We picked this as a second choice after the place we found parking for and walked too turned out to be closed. Cake's was nearby and as it turned out, had more than cakes and breakfast. They had a very tasty garbanzo bean salad that we both enjoyed. Nice and tangy with a clear balsamic type sauce/dressing. Both the pizza and Italian BLT were a nice surprise for what is mostly a coffee cafe from the looks of things. The people working that day were extremely welcoming and friendly which gave me reason to stay and I'm glad we did.

Good bang for your buck. I had the double latte and my husband had the breakfast burrito. The latte was a bit more expensive than what I'm usually used to paying but it was tasty. My husband really enjoyed the breakfast burrito which came with a side salad. The server was friendly and the cafe vibe was pleasant. Would recommend!

My new go-to spot for casual gatherings, fun / creative events - singles events, karaoke, open mic. Great coffee, mimosas, vino, beer, desserts, and excellent thin, crispy crust pizza too. I hosted a private event there after hours, and it was a big hit. The service is warm, friendly, and accommodating--I am so happy to have found Cakes Cafe.

My Wife and I stopped by for a coffee and burrito on a Sunday morning. Only one worker and we had 2 customers in front of us with coffee orders. We ordered ours to go after them and they only got coffee orders as well. It took 30 min for the two coffees to come out then another 15 for the burrito. Coffee came out cold as well.
