Such a cute little place in Abiquiu. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and even took time to chat with us.We stopped in for an early dinner, and loved every minute. Mr. B started with a Boxing Bear Brewing, Chocolate Milk Stout beer, I had a glass of Justin Sauvignon Blanc, one of my favorite wineries and wine. We settled on our dinner's and Mr. B went with the special of the night, Chicken Tacos. These were not your typical Chicken Tacos, they were packed full of fresh ingredients and incredible Southwest Spices. I went with the Roasted Poblano Relleno. A fresh poblano chile was roasted, stuffed with quinoa, corn, black beans, and shallots topped with melted pepper jack cheese. The pepper was resting in house made red sauce and on the side was a crispy cabbage slaw with chopped mango for some sweetness. There is plenty of parking, a small outdoor patio if you so choose. But the day we visited as soon as we were seated it started pouring rain.We absolutely loved this spot in Abiquiu.

The location is adorable and we loved that there was special shaded parking for dogs. The service was very friendly. Clearly a local joint, kind enough to ask about our travels. We had the breakfast chile relleno, the huevos rancheros, and the green chile stew, -"" of which were fresh, healthy and delicious but not "NM hot" if that's your thing. The cool art on the walls, and beautiful flowers around the outdoor seating make the ambiance lovely. Definitely stopping in again

A late lunch at Cafe Sierra Negra was a perfect capstone to a wonderful daytrip out to Ghost Ranch. That this humble and simple meal was one of the three best dining experiences we had during a week-plus in New Mexico is saying something, because we had a veritable smorgasbord of fantastic food during our visit to the state.Credit goes to the wife for zeroing in on this little roadside cafe in preparing for this outing. A low-slung building nestled among a few trees, it's easy to miss: Although it has an Abiquiu address, its U.S. 84 setting right across from a Family Dollar is a couple of miles east of the little Georgia O'Keeffe-heavy Abiquiu tourist agglomeration.Anyway, the internet hype seems justified: A bowl of green chile stew was better than a dish this deceptively simple seemingly has any right to be. Terrific depth of flavor, wonderful seasoning, tender pieces of succulent pork, a few veggies (carrots and potatoes mostly) and accompanied by a toasted olive bread that was one of the best baked items I'd had in a while. The wife had scrambled-egg tacos--even simpler--but said the tortillas alone were worth the price of admission.Speaking of O'Keeffe, the proprietor of this restaurant used to manage tours at the nearly O'Keeffe home. It's safe to say that she has found her calling with this place. The lonesome desert setting lends the modest cafe some gravitas and magic. But given food this good, it doesn't really need any extra. I realize this was only a single lunch, but both the wife and I would wholeheartedly recommend this place if you're out this way.

This was a great stop while out exploring and hiking the area. It's a colorful, sunny, and friendly place. Since it was chilly outside I ordered the Green Chili and Chicken Stew with a side of ciabatta. It was ideal. Hearty, bright, fresh, and just enough spice to warm me up. The well-buttered bread was also really excellent. I appreciate the fast, affordable lunch. Thank you ladies!

I had lunch here this week while visiting Abiquiú for a few days. The vibe, with the artwork and the exuberant and helpful non-binary waitperson, is relaxed and welcoming. It was a refreshing change from the harried service at Café Abiquiu at Abiquiu Inn. The shrimp tacos were delicious and fresh. I couldn't resist taking home a piece of double chocolate fudge cake.

What an amazing find. The food was so fresh and delicious. It was like your friend was making lunch for you. Filled with love! We ordered the steak tacos, joyful salad and Chile rellenos which were amazing. We also had a strawberry crepe, carrot cake and cheesecake. The desserts are really good and we ordered three (we kept adding more!) Paired with a glass of wine and it was a perfect lunch. Our waitress Wenca was a delight and took such great care of us. Please stop here! You won't be disappointed.

I don't live in Abiqui , NM but I would certainly make the trek again all the way from California to this cafe. The food was freshly made, and. really, really good. the kind of "good" you'd find in fine dining. I am totally stealing all they were short. staffed, but the sweetest, most gracious service crew. they absolutely charmed us, and if I ever am driving through I will absolutely suggest you stop in and enjoy

Driving to Chama River area this gem of a restaurant is located right outside of Abiquiu. Originally stopped at the local hotel cafe, but decided to drive on , And I'm glad I did. The ambience was very eclectic and the walls were covered in amazing art work. We were attended to quickly and after seeing the menu decided on getting breakfast in addition to lattes, the original reason for exploring that morning . The three ladies that worked there were very friendly and the food came out quickly. The menu and our dishes were true to the local cuisine but with its own unique flair. The flavors were rich and savory. I would definitely recommend this place!
