"Over the past few months, I've connected with a handful of organizations and nonprofits in the south valley that offer a dose of Albuquerque history that you won't find throughout the rest of the city. The Gutierrez - Hubbell House was an undiscovered gem. I've lived in this town 20+ years, I'd never connected to this incredible organization/venue, but I'm headed back, soon.A few notes on why you MUST visit this farm/museum: lush, immaculate, expansive. Family-friendly, too. These acres own an identity that goes way back, 18th century, and you'll need to take a tour to learn the specifics, but the basics: east coast wanderer meets a Spanish girl, they start a family, become an invaluable resource in this city, and that's the way they all became the Gutierrez-Hubbell Bunch. Bah dum bum. Two hundred-plus years later the venue nearly falls victim to private investors, but a spirited group of locals volunteer to uphold a legacy. Gardens grow. Festivals flourish. The heritage of Albuquerque's south valley remains intact. The place is open year-round save holiday closures. Tours are easily scheduled, just call. There's so much to experience around here, the grounds are gorgeous, rows of produce pop outside the doors of the facility. The Fermentation Festival has become the largest fundraiser/educational event of their season, and from what I've learned, it's worth a visit, late June."
"Where to eat New Mexican food on a Monday evening in Santa Fe.We had just gotten into town with most restaurants in our price range closed for the evening. Looked specifically for this place on this address, and would not have found it except for signs directing us downstairs below ground level.Service is leisurely at best. Wife's $18 mole was on the sweet side, and not enough spice to excite her.Meal came with black beans instead of pinto beans for a change, which she liked. Also included Mexican rice, and a small salad with diced tomatoes. My $16 Santa Fe Enchiladas came with two chicken enchiladas covered with green chili sauce and cheese, black beans, Mexican rice, and a small salad with diced tomatoes. Tasty, ate everything without any problems. Pricey as similar meal at Cocina Azuma in Albuquerque with three chicken enchiladas was $17.50. Spice level if anything a bit on the bland side with the green chili sauce.Windowless restaurant in the basement with Day of the Dead pictures of decorated skulls on the wall, but painted in loud colors, so it wasn't too scary to lose my appetite."
"We had our company Christmas party here. It was awesome.First we hung out in the bar area where we had free run of the place. Anything you wanted, they'd make, and everything they made was delicious. Kudos to the bar staff. They also had delicious appetizers floating around. We then had a buffet-style dinner and people were free to wander around, enjoy prime rib, etc. I'll take a moment here and point out how awesome the interior of this place is. A bunch of rooms you can float through, all connected and centered around a courtyard (it's an old house, in the territorial style).Really, the staff made the night here. They were courteous, professional, and accommodating. They even let me in on the little ghost secrets that involve this place ... but I won't say much more than to respect the Armijo family!"
"What a perfect hotel to kick off our trip! This is such a beautiful hotel. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I was captivated by the stunning architecture and Southwest-inspired design. It exudes a sense of grandeur and elegance while maintaining a relaxed and comfortable ambiance. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and had the same vibe as the rest of the hotel. It's in a good central location in the heart of Albuquerque."
"This Local gem is an absolute must to check out. It's full of multiple small businesses with a wide variety of goodies. Including: coffee shop, tattoo shop, jewelry, clothes, tasty treats, furniture...even a freaking hair salon and esthetician booth. It's a one stop shop if you need gifts or simply want to treat yourself. Not to mention during the summer on Saturdays they throw neighborhood markets that bring more local vendors together in the back yard. With live music and yummmmayyy food trucks. So much love and character spread through this building. It's truly special to see all the support for our community that flows out of this place. 10/10"
"Balloons...and SNOW!!Nice to spend about an hour learning about the history, science and adventurers in ballooning on a snowy winter day. Named after two Albuquerque pilots, Ben Abruzzo and Maxie Anderson were part of the first crews to make a successful trans-Atlantic crossing in a balloon in 1978, followed by a trans-Pacific in 1981. Interesting to learn about their expeditions and others, both successful and not. The permanent and special exhibits offered different insights into the challenges faced by balloon pilots and how balloons fly. The tragic expedition to try to reach the North Pole by S. A. Andree in 1897 was fascinating and quite sad. Nice to also see many women in ballooning featured throughout the museum as well. Although several exhibits and the 4-D Theater were closed, it was reassuring to be the only two guests in the museum. Social distancing and face masks are mandatory. Timed entry required and limited to 90 minute time slots. Information was taken for contact tracing which fortunately was not needed. Interested in learning more? Several virtual tours are available to visit the museum from the comfort and safety of your own home."
"I found this location, thanks to the knot, as a possibility for our wedding reception. I appreciated how communicative Jannette was leading up to our visit, including her flexibility when my fiance couldn't make our original visit. When we arrived, they had fresh coffee, cider, and cookies. The fireplace was on, and we could talk about things we liked and envisioned. Jannette took us on a tour of the property, highlighting some locations, and at the end, we got to visit some of the animals. One of the highlights was feeding their baby mini highland cows; they are so adorable! Afterward, we went back inside to warm by the fire and discuss more in-depth details, ways they could set things up, and how many people. My partner was overwhelmed, but I appreciated all the attention to detail. We haven't had our celebration yet, but I'll update when we do!"
"Went to my cousin's boy's birthday party here. We had a great experience and our son LOVED the bouncy houses. They had four! 2 very large and two for the smaller kids. Of course our two year old climbs right into the big boy one. Wow he had so much fun though. He screamed when it was time to leave. We'll definitely consider this place for our boy's birthday!"
"My sister and I attended one of their special events, so it was not related to pottery. We went for the Ladies Spa Night where we got to make and take a few different items. There were great snacks provided, some simple drinks, and fun making spa items at each table. The massage therapist, Shannon from Southwest Healing Massage was phenomenal. We got chair massages as one of the stations. That was the best part of the night. The part I would have rather skipped was the lecture-type style of the introduction from the owner about why we should use the oils she uses and not other peoples etc. It seemed a little more like a lecture and not as much fun. It was much better once we got to start going and have fun."
"Following along with my friends, we stopped here for pre-dinner drinks and had a very nice time. It's definitely styled as a speakeasy complete with the mural of Al Capone and the required password to get in the door (I missed the password since I wasn't in charge tonight). Huge bar of spirits with a bartender who put together all sorts of craft cocktails for our group. I'm not usually a spirits drinker so I stuck to easy stuff like Old Fashioned and it was very tasty. We had dinner reservations for elsewhere so we didn't stay to eat. This is a high class spot for sure.[Review 21075 overall - 122 in New Mexico - 38 of 2024.]"
"We got engaged in December of 2019. We live out of state, but I'm from Albuquerque so I knew we would be getting married there. As soon as the venues opened up for touring, my parents wrote down places I was interested in that were within budget. This was only the second venue my parents had visited and I knew it was our place from the videos she sent me alone. My folks did most of the work with the Patel's, but any question I had or any requests we had were soundly heard and accommodated. Our wedding day was a gorgeous dream come true and this place is a huge reason why. I couldn't have imagined having our reception anywhere else. They were the easiest to work with. Weddings are stressful enough, you need vendors that ease that , not add to it. The Patel's are wonderful to work with and I'd love to come back for another party in the future."
"Went to Desperados a week or so ago and had a wonderful experience. It is connected to another restaurant in the front so there are tons of good food options available! The craft cocktail list had fresh ingredients and was different than any others I've seen around Albuquerque lately. Servers were very nice and attentive. They told me they host private parties and events so I will be in touch about those as well. Definitely a great addition to old town area! 10/10 recommend!"

Twas a nice drive over the river and through the South Valley we go. There was plenty of parking when I came for the Dia de Los Muertos event. I wandered the main house set up with ofrendas and read quickly about the history of the property. I'd like to come back and delve more into the details when there's not as much of a crowd to hurry you along. Unfortunately, the Dia de Los Muertos event itself was a bit disappointing (hence the 3 stars instead of 4 for the location itself). Only a few lowriders and food trucks were present. There was live music and dancing, but the procession itself was small and not like images of parades I've seen from the past. But, it's a great way to acknowledge and represent our culture and those who have gone before us. 2022 #58

we ended up here after having restaurants tell us about a 2+ hour wait! We arrived here and we were seated immediately and the staff were so nice and welcoming. We ordered the chips and salsa (which was not included and $5) and it was okay! I got the chicken tacos and my husband got the empanadas and we throughly enjoyed both!! My house marg was very strong and delicious! The staff were so nice and polite! Definitely will be back.

This was probably the best venue I have ever been to in New Mexico. It's a traditional old New Mexican home that was transformed into a club. *Genius*It had an outdoor courtyard that was a cute finishing touch. There was connecting rooms and multiple DJ's in each. They each had their own genre of music they were spinning. The place was decorated well, it was clean and the atmosphere was nice. No hovering men this evening. The line to get in on a Friday night wasn't deathly and women get in free. Parking was no problem as well, AND was free. I have to comment on the bathroom. I cannot speak for the men, but the womens restroom was clean and well kept. My only complaint is the drinks. I feel they are stingy with the brew. Maybe it's my tolerance, but I like a good vodka taste. I would definitely be back again. I think this place deserves to be seen and reviewed more often. Try it. Love it Yelp it...

It's the larger complex on the campus and further down the road, not the first smaller building when you turn onto balloon road. There are signs for Covid tests in the same lot as the museum. $6/adult out of stater, quite a reasonable entry fee. So much information and the history of balloons, it's balloon 101 and weather too.

"Lovely hotel, adjacent to the ever popular - Saw Mill. Upon entering the room; I knew we erred by not booking a balcony room. The window in our room was small, dirty and overlooked a parking lot, hotel and the dumpsters below - dismal = The room did not receive much light. We requested to upgrade twice but they were unable to accommodate us. We spent four days at Hotel Chaco. We were here to attend the Day of the Tread. We were surprised that there were no breakfast offerings (as early as we required) at the hotel before the events. We had to walk down the road to purchase food. *Consistent (early morning) coffee service in the lobby would have been appreciated as well. The room was nicely appointed, the amenities acceptable. We loved the comfortable robes and appreciated the slippers. The fitness center was one of the best we've used - it had everything you'd need, from yoga mats to Peloton machines. Housekeeping was exceptional! Victor and Edward were helpful and offered a wealth of information - thank you. We will be back next year, and hope to book a balcony overlooking the pool."
"Old Town Farm is nestled in a "rural" suburb of Albuquerque's Old Town neighborhood. This is one of the two oldest neighborhoods in the city with a feel harkening back many decades ago.The farm grows a traditional array of produce, which they sell at the Downtown Growers Market as well as in weekly CSA-style deliveries and pickup. You can also go to the farm on Friday and Sunday mornings to pick out produce you'd like to buy straight from their field. They have other stuff for sale, including honey, eggs, and wildflowers, but for me, the greatest gem is in their weekend Bike In Coffee. For those who don't know, you can bike to the farm and have a casual brunch dining in their beautiful garden. The farm rests along the I-40 Bike Trail, which meets up with the larger Bosque Trail, making it easy to bike in for brunch or a break from your training. You can drive there, too, but biking there is more fun, and that's the point. I mean, how can you go wrong with a place that encourages you to bike into for your coffee and hang out in such a pretty outdoor space? They offer traditional New Mexican dishes, including breakfast burritos, which anyone who enjoys working out knows is the perfect energy boost.Bike In Coffee is closed for their winter break through the end of January so check them out when they re-open in February. The farm used to be focused on horses, but while they are still a part of the farm, the focus now is more on growing produce, hosting events, and offering their bike-in weekend brunches. The farm also offers catering for larger groups on-site, including weddings, and they are known for hosting other types of events, such as small music festivals. A few years ago, I hosted a friend's bike-in 50th birthday party there, and Old Town Farms did an excellent job. They are even featured on the French travel documentary series, Échappées belles, which is aired on TV 5 Monde. I already knew that Old Town Farm was a special place, but this confirms it."
"Yummy yummy yummy! Havent been in years. Food has always been great and they did a remodeling job. Love the staff and will be back! Breakfast is always so good !"
"What a great spot! Dog friendly! We went on a weekday and were lucky to find space outside on the patio so we had room for our dog that is in the middle of training. The food was delicious (chicken sando was incredible) and the beers were spot on.Parking was easy. Best of all the crew that took care of us and our pup were fantastic."
"This hotel has been around for a will the name has changed. They have done a great job keeping the hotel looking good. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a great views of downtown from the front side."
"Great private club! Go over and meet the friendly folks there! Good prices too. Been a member for many years."
"I finally stopped by this newly renovated Motel. What a sweet gem located close to UNM, downtown, and the airport. I was impressed at how well the renovations turned out. The Motel has a cool 60's retro style that gives a nostalgic yet trendy kind of vibe. The unique design offers a food hall with different dining options including a cocktail bar. As I walked in I was greeted by the bartender. She was very friendly and good at making old fashioned. I then ordered a pupusa from La Cocina de Maria. Maria was so sweet and her pupusa was so good. On her recommendation I had the chicharrón pupusa. The masa was crispy on the outside with a soft tender and savory inside filling. The pork was seasoned perfectly giving each bite that mouthwatering you hope to get from a chicharrón. It was also perfectly accompanied by a delicious tangy purple slaw and spicy salsa which elevated the dish. I definitely enjoyed this place. Everyone was so friendly!"
"We had our son's wedding here and it went phenomenal! The staff met with the bride and groom multiple times, as well as included many questions and calls from my husband, myself and the brides mom. They answered and accommodated and also respected the bride and groom as the final say! They did awesome! We couldn't have had it done any better then this! I think it's a great place to have an event. Lovely not having to go from place to place for your wedding! Thanks Annette! You were fabulous!!!"
"This place was an absolutely beautiful place for a wedding. It was perfect under the wooden trellis: The grapes and grapevine naturally draped around the structure and hung from the ceiling. There were great white paper lanterns and romantic Italian circus lights that gave the space an ethereal glow. It was a great deal, also. It was $2,400 for the venue and 7 guest rooms for my intoxicated wedding guests to stay in. They also have 8-60 in. rounds and chairs that you can use which will help to cut down rental costs. The rooms are pretty cheesy and outdated, but the setting in the garden is awesome. The only downsides are that if you have your wedding there, prepare to plan EVERYTHING yourself. That wasn't a huge deal for me because I am a wedding and event planner anyway...but for most other brides it might be a bit off-putting.I give it a solid B+/A-"
"Pretty spectacular place. We happened to go on restaurant week, which I didn't know and wouldn't recommend. Around 530 on a Sunday, the place was packed, so we came back at 8pm for dessert and lucked out with some bar seats. The stressed-out bartender ended up being very charming and pleasant. We tried the chicken liver mousse and gluten free tres leches. The mousse was phenomenal, but the tres leches I would skip due to the texture, which wasn't for me despite the lovely flavors. (Most of the menu is gluten-free, which is awesome).I wish we had room for more food! I'd go back in a heartbeat. It's not a cocktail forward place, but it's great for wine, aperitifs, and some classic drinks, like martinis and manhattans. MAKE A RESERVATION OR SHOW UP AS THEY OPEN!"
"My first American Legion Post, I was here as a guest of my friend who has a membership thanks to his military service. I had no idea what to expect and I don't have any other posts with which to compare. It's a large venue with a few different spaces. In one of the private areas, there was some sort of event going on. Loud with dancing. Seemed like a happy bunch. We hung out in the main bar area and I had a couple of beers. Definitely cheap and definitely cold. My friends enjoyed a simple vodka and soda, reporting it as a pretty strong pour.We were probably the youngest ones in here by a bit. Not a worry as at least two or three people stopped by to check on us and ensure we were having fun. I don't know enough about the military to hold a conversation. Still, interesting.[Review 21077 overall - 124 in New Mexico - 40 of 2024.]"
"The site has some beautiful art on the outside of the building. There are also some great art pieces inside as well scattered around the building. The indoor space is bright and colorful."
"I was recently at a wedding at UNM's lovely Alumni Chapel. It brought back memories of my own wedding 15 years ago. I love this wonderful and intimate space. I'm not sure how many people fit in the chapel, my guess is about 125, but that's just a guess. There is a beautiful Retablo at the front of the church, and it has an old world feel, with its rounded adobe walls and wonderful New Mexico flavor. You do have to be affiliated with UNM, either as a student, a faculty, or an alumni. But, boy oh boy, it's one of the best perks of being an alumni, at least it was for me when I was getting married. Since I'm never planning on getting married again, I can now only remember, smile, and enjoy other people making beautiful memories at the start of their lives together."
"I am soooo excited to have my wedding here! This is the most flexible and affordable space we toured, and believe me we toured them ALL. At least 30. They let you have the space from 9am-11pm, you can use their tables, chairs, twinkle lights, and even part of the driving range! Will update more after the wedding - with pictures of the space all dressed up!"
"This is a wonderful yoga studio in the Rio Rancho area. I attended the summer solstice yoga class and it was both a comprehensive and relaxing workout. I definitely recommend this place for yoga!"
"This theater has been around for decades. It is used now for events. Attended an event here recently and they have done sow things that make it more flexible for different events."
"It's a very new hotel. It's very conveniently located near many restaurants and other attractions in the Old Town area and near the Pueblo Cultural Center. It's also about expectations; everyone is understaffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The parking is easy and plentiful. There are so many cool places nearby you'll have fun just seeing them. They got me the type of room I wanted with no problem. The rooms were clean and nice. The room's itself had all the space I needed and a Mini refrigerator and coffeemaker, which I use. Everything was working just fine and very clean I was impressed with the staff and their willingness to try to help me in any way that it could the hotel was great and made for relaxing stay. I stayed for almost three weeks."
"I recently attended a concert at revel entertainment. This is the same complex as revel Burger and a number of other businesses as well as uptown funk.Uptown funk and the other businesses were phase one of this entertainment complex. They have since added a concert venue which is what I'm reviewing here.So pawn arriving I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. I wasn't sure whether or not there would be any seating any photos that I've seen have all been about people standing in front of the stage.I was meeting some friends I arrived early because I know parking there can be tight. There's a lot of information on their website and they try to keep you very informed about what to expect when you arrive including such things is not bringing a large purse. Doors were supposed to open at 6:00 p.m. they opened around 5:30 which meant that I was able to get in early along with my friends. As we walked into the actual concert space we were happy to see that there were chairs probably not enough for the $3,000 attendees that fill this place to capacity however there were enough chairs for those who wanted to sit. Some people stood by the stage automatically wanting to get the best view of the band. We older folks wanted to sit until the band started at which point we would stand up and enjoy the music in front of the stage. There is a balcony area there are seats in the balcony area but those seats are just bar stools that don't have any backs on them. All in all, I was really happy about this venue and very impressed with the staff. It was well organized. It was very convenient. The drinks were incredibly affordable and I think the owners for that. The sound was great. Nice stage. Bathrooms were well attended and clean. There were no negatives. And I will be thrilled to go back time and time again to this venue. I wish them the best of luck and lots of success in bringing awesome acts into Albuquerque."
"Some of the best views, hands down, in the city. Especially downtown. I went to a wedding reception on the 8th floor. It is going to be made into lofts...it's laid out that way...but it's perfect for a group for now. The views are wonderful. Make sure you visit the rooftop. The sunset looks magnificent from there and there's plenty of room for big parties, DJs, etc. I didn't know this gem existed."
"I am having my wedding here in June 2019. I visited this venue for the first time a few weeks ago and fell in love. The perfect place for a charming, outdoor country/rustic wedding. This venue gives you the option to choose your own setup (catering, alcohol, chairs/tables, etc.) which was a huge selling point for us. ON TOP OF ALL THAT, Toni is wonderful to work with. She is very kind and accommodating. I couldn't be in better hands for my special day."
"I recently held an event at Aguave del Sol. I should have known after 3 calls were not returned and a friend had to call the owner to set an appointment that this was more than a red flag. While the building is beauriful and the food was good, the people are non-responive and extremely difficult to work with. I was flat out lied to about several things and will NEVER do business with them again. My event was a simple dinner, if you are planning a wedding or something extremely important to you DO NOT use this facility. If you have already put down a deposit, forget it and move to another venue."
"M'tucci's Catering are simply the best. In everything they do. Wonderful, professional, friendly people to deal with. Joseph Valdez, Catering Manager, helped me organise my event for three long months (bless him!), from food choices to quantities and meticulous set up. M'tucci's catered our event for 80 guests, all of whom said the food was fabulous. The delivery was right on time, and the evening was a huge success, thanks to all their help."
