"This Goodwill is large, modern, clean and well air-conditioned. Needless to say there's lots of clothes here and all men's and women's pants tend to be priced at between seven and eight dollars. Pretty much all the clothing in this place is between $4-$8 with the exception of some fancy garments on the side of the store which can be in the teens and 20's. They have tons of DVDs, CDs, and a fairly good selection of books. They have five large shelves worth of glassware, knickknacks, and lots of shoes to choose from as well. One thing you keep in mind, if you need to use the bathroom, you'll have to ask the key from the front end. They do not have color tag days or senior discount days anymore."
"I really like this place. In town on vacation and stopped in. Got 2 shirts for $8 each. And a nice sweater for 12"
"Although this store is small, it is full of stuff. Some of the stuff is old some of it is new. The prices are very reasonable and they take credit cards. They also have a restroom so you can keep shopping if you're dying to pee. There are clothes, books, kitchenware, jewelry. Some stuff is even outside on the porch. If you're traveling away from Abq toward Santa Fe it may be hard to spot; if you hit the post office, then you've just missed it."
"I'm a big fan of thrift stores and love to shop at Rethreads and CAV....when Lili's Thrift opened a few months ago, I waited a while before I ventured in the other day. The reason was, it looked too well organized, clean and more like a boutique-- therefore I reasoned, the prices would be high. I was definitely wrong! Owner, Lydia (Lili) Ramirez, has a passion and an eye for trendy women's clothing and accessories and makes sure each item is clean (she even scrubs the soles of the shoes), pressed and in great condition. Many of the items are new. The prices are great: shirts-$2.50 shoes-$5.00 pants-$4.00 dresses-$5.00Lili will be celebrating Halloween with a costume boutique and will be carrying skis and winter clothing. Store hours 11-6pm Tues-Sat. Call 575-613-3977"
"AARRFF! ARF! In the good ol' Bunkhouse Building comes a new and welcome business. This one is a charity disguised as a thrift shop! The items you chose to donate or buy here go to benefit the Southwest Animal Rescue Fund, Inc. A great cause that is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of homeless animals in New Mexico. Think about giving some good stuff here instead of suffering through another yard sale to help a good cause. Inside, you may meet Nancy. A straight shooting gal who can give you all the info you want to know about the place. This is a tough one to review since the stuff I see this week won't be the same stuff you see in a few weeks. (At least we hope it moves that quickly) The items are the usual you'd expect; dishes, clothes, lamps and lots of treasures. There was no direct phone line to the store when I was there, but you can get all the info you need from the website. The number listed is the Rescue Info Line.In the end they get 5 stars because it's a fun place and it's a charity! I didn't list them under that because I couldn't find it but if you know how, then please do!Go there, take stuff or buy stuff. Help animals. Feel good. Simple."
"This is my favorite thrift store in Albuquerque! Bargain prices on everything. The store is small but clean and well organized. When I needed scrubs, I found them here. The staff are incredibly nice! I've walked out with as much as I can carry for $30.00. The staff are volunteers and the proceeds go to those who need it. Shop here!"
"Lomas avenue, between Washington and San Mateo, is quickly becoming Thrift Store Row, Jr. My mind's compass can locate at least four shops on this stretch and they all vie to thumb wrestle with the standards on Menaul. Bargainbox is certainly unique, and perhaps one of the very best in the city if you know what you're seeking. Here's my take on why you should go.As a fellow Yelper mentioned, there are "no overt religious undertones" which is a biggie for me. Thrifting is Christ's work, Buddha's work, the work of the Great Spirit, you name it, sharing is caring, yo. The employees (I doubt they receive a sixpence for their energies) are Midwestern kind. And the place just beams with pride. The back area is all about carefully preserved and loved crap, like housewares and paintings and plates and lamps and, well, all of that stuff George Carlin warned us about. Everything on these shelves works, they're solid pieces, something I can't state about the competition. But most of the store is devoted to clothing, and most of that is for the female persuasion. I did glance it all over, and I thought the offerings were solid: conservative, smart, really high quality or reconditioned. The square footage is limited, so don't come for furniture. I'll be back again and again, and perhaps again, because I've learned to really love bargain hunting and these guys know how to scavenge."
"Super fun place to look around and find some interesting things. I think the movie props they have for sale are cool (mostly clothes). There are SO many things to look at and SO many rooms!! I honestly can't wait to go back. The guys that were working there were nice, one tho seemed to be on his phone the whole time we were there, maybe he was on a lunch break but he was still sitting at the front desk?? I don't know and don't really care, just thought it was odd. The other guy working was awesome! He helped everyone out, answered questions, helped with the jewelry counter and everything. A+ for him. I only give this a 4 start for the fact that some things were crazy expensive, yes I know it's not a thrift store, but it's not new items either. A lot was reasonably priced but not all, with that being said, they do have sales on certain items during the week. Have fun! We will be back to explore again!"
"This thrift shop has some pretty cool stuff. Tons of clothes...organized by color not size though. And there were some viper cute clothes and shoes. There's a variety of artwork, kitchen items and electronics. I grabbed a great comforter. Staff were friendly. Some prices were a bit high, but overall I think this is a great thrift store. There was lot parking available."
"The animal humane thrift has been on my thrifting rotation for a while. Within the last year, they have moved into a newer, nicer location. they're still located off just a little further up.Now that they're in a larger location, they definitely have even more to look through. I will say a little disappointed with some of their pricing. My most recent trip, a lot of the clothing was in my opinion very overpriced for what you were getting. For example, we found a few decent dresses that weren't in perfect condition listed for $15+. Honestly, when it comes to clothing, you might as well go somewhere like Buffalo exchange where you're paying almost the same prices, but those items are already sorted through and quality checked. They are a good option for things like glassware or other household needs."
"What a great little shop! Everything is very clean, organized and prices are great. Also when you shop here you are helping seniors in our area. The man in the shop was so nice, helpful and informative. I definitely will shop here again."
"I spotted this thrift store from the road and decided to stop in. I noticed it already had one review which basically was a hit job. I was amused that this thrift shop sits right next to a massage parlor. Inside it's fairly cramped and half the shop is quite disorganized. It's like following a deer path through lots of old junk that is way overpriced. Probably the only good thing was that there was very little in the way of clothing and lots in the way of everything else. Unless you're actually in the area, I'd scratch this place off your list. At least there's some photos to help you decide either way."

I have to say I am super surprised at the negative reviews. But I know one persons junque is another's treasure.Best finds: a Coach backpack for 49.99 (plus remember if you buy online you pay sales tax and probably shipping), a super cool Day of the Dead weird figure for 4.99 (I love me some weird), a handmade huge wood frame for 7.99 for crafting/project, and some other cute and wearable things. During this covid pandemic I give a lot of credit to the employees at Goodwill. thank you for your service....and patience.

Woah! This place is great. A lot of items still had the tags on, and those that didn't were in fantastic, like-new condition. I found a good size pieces including a few gorgeous dresses! So happy to have found this shop!

There has never been another place or store such as Hey Mavis! There is the unique...the vintage...the eclectic...the eccentric...from very vintage of radios...that DO work!..the silver jewelry ..that has the sweetest silver pins...to very bold designs...to lovely silver with turquoise...and so much more across the table....Vases...bowls...albums...books. Monday there were two old leather horse collars...bikes..pottery..clothes.She already has that treasure that is truly and uniquely yours..waiting there for you...so go find it. It is there. Don't let the very deceptive exterior "size" fool you..Cuz there's lots of treasures and room inside.and the best part...walk in..look to the right...there she is! Great amazing smile...and she will remember you....the proprietor with THE best classiest taste ever...in everything..you will see..once you walk in...you'll see!I bringing home the big blue wood rocker...Hey Mavis!Tanya

I bought a chair and chest of drawers that were awesome finds but when we took them out to my vehicle were much larger than they looked inside. Luckily the owner's son was there and must be a master at Tetris because he was able to get them in with no problems. Wonderful store and amazing customer service, will definitely stop by whenever I'm in Taos!

Horrible service! Showed up 10 min until closing- received bad looks. Lady then told me she closes the register in 2 min so she can leave exactly at 4. Clearly don't want business. Don't bother- all junk.

I am a fan of assistance league thrift shops everywhere and this location is no different. We are in the process of moving to ABQ and have been here a few times. Yesterday found out there is a higher end with furniture spot. Attaching a cool print I saw there

I went to the new bullseye estate sale consignment shop on Menaul today. They are only open from Thursday to Sunday. The building is like a large warehouse with several rooms full of vintage items. Jewelry, furniture, linens, kitchen items, tools, books, toys, Knick Knacks and anything else you can think of. It was interesting to explore each room and I purchased a few small items. The prices seemed reasonable but not an extreme deal either. I recommend this place for sure, however, I did notice that one employee who checked my items out when I was leaving was not wearing a mask. ( the other employees were-though). That is the reason I am reviewing 4 stars instead of 5.

"I love to have my own little places to keep as a secret, especially favorite thrift stores, but this place deserves everyone passing through Alpine to stop (if open, check the hours).Locally owned place, with donations going to a Church, with a fantastic selection of everything from kitchen ware to clothes to (currently available) a HUGE star wars collection. Going through the multiple rooms of the house you can definitely find something you at least have nostalgia about. I usually spend about 10 bucks here and walk away with a jacket or shirt, shoes and trinket. Yeah, you could get a full set of clothes (socks and undies too) for yourself or someone in need for less than 20 bucks. The staff here is always super nice and proud. If you are lucky you can get in a conversation with one to give them a quick thank you and a break from running around keeping things tidy."
"This store is a little wonderful treat. Sure, maybe I just got lucky this day but I have a feeling they have a good steady turnover. There are cups and books and vases and towels and clothes and more. The stuff in the glass case is intriguing too. Some vintage items. All the prices are very very reasonable and they take credit cards. Friendly staff too!"
"This location is very upscale. The interesting thing is that other locations there is a fee to use credit card and this location does not. Makes me wonder if there an effort by goodwill to cater to those they think are more affluent."
"I am a kids resale shopper coming from San Diego that had so many shops to pick from. I was surprise not to see so many in albquerque. I really like this store because they have bigger sizes in clothing. My girls are 5 and 10 so I don't have babies. The staff was nice the prices normal for a resale shop. The only reason I gave three stars and not four is because this stores organized the clothing by pants , dresses, shirts, pjs etc it takes longer to go to each section for what you want and then go to the size you want. I wish the owner would just put all the clothing in the same section by size it would make shopping faster and I would most likely go more. Over all I enjoyed this shop and will be back."
"Large, clean and organized store that has lots of great bargains. I was impressed by the displays, and lots of books. Prices are good with in demand items (Star Wars) having higher prices than other items (Christmas 3 days after the holiday). Staff is friendly and informative."
"This thrift store located on Central near 8th across from Robinson's park open only on Thursday, Friday, Saturday... it is run by volunteers only mostly elderly ladies. There's always certain color coded tag sale of the day.The donations keep coming in usually from within the area and surrounding neighborhoods. You can always find a designer dress or men's jacket for around $10 or under. This thrift store is very small once you enter the place you will see trinkets, knickknacks, household items, art pieces. To the right of the store, a separate room you'll find clothing, shoes, handbags for women, men, and children. Then upstair there will be some furniture and larger household items like sheets and blankets, pots and pans and more dishes sets. Back downstairs to the left side of the store there's a small kids area of toys and good selection of books. Items are donated constantly and they do move the items fast out of the store because of good pricing and decent sale. This is a good little Thrift to stop by on occasion to see what is in store. It is always fun to rummage and look through here!"
"Went there recently for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised! They have sidewalk sale items that are extremely low priced. I got two picture frames in great condition for fifty cents each! They have a large amount of merchandise even though the store appears to be small from the outside. They even have furniture, rugs, and lots of household stuff. They carry most everything the other stores do but you can find some great bargains too. I will definitely go back!"
"Love this place! Great selection of upscale brands and fashion forward clothing and shoes at amazing prices. AND the proprietor, Betty Jo, is just lovely.! And all the proceeds go to a wonderful charity. Hours are a bit sporadic and unusual so call first to make sure they are open. But definitely worth the trip if they are!"
"The owners are a sweet elderly couple who don't sell anything online. I like shopping here just to support them. I think their business is REALLY struggling with the construction on 4th St, so I'm hoping this review will help get some locals in to keep them going. It's mostly smalls... figurines, knick knacks, glasses, decor, collectibles, some art, etc. Not too many things I'm usually in the market for, but I did find an amazing early 1900s coat rack, and they let me buy one of their display cases. They had a good selection of southwest jewelry for awhile, but last time I went in some savvy shopper had swooped nearly all of it up. They usually have some rusty dusty antiques out front, so it's easier to spot from the road. They have a small dedicated parking lot too. Give 'em a look!"
"No one was rude. Really nice selection actually. I love the amount of glass wear they have."
"It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I have an hour on my hands before I have to meet my Yelpie friends for what was National Chocolate Fondue day so I decide to stroll through Goodwill and see what treasures I might find. I love donating clothing and extra things I have in my home but today was different. I was on a mission to see what awesome kitchen items I can find. Being the foodie that I am the only thing that catches my eye while browsing through Goodwill is the Home Goods/Kitchenware. I love glancing at all the fondue sets, geez, I really want one but I have one at home. Then I happen to come across some nice pots & pans with a few brand names, ugh I'd love to have them but thats just adding to my already big collection at home. So many nice things I can buy and put to good use but I don't want to become a foodie hoarder. I did find some nice glass containers, and all of a sudden I am a green thumb, thinking of some seedlings I can start in these smallish sized containers. Adding to my cart! Now what else can I find... hmmm.... *quizzical look* The Donut Kween begins to search high and low for a Beignet Cutter. I'm on a quest since a FB friend of mine mentioned sometimes, very rarely but sometimes you might find one. All my probing got me nowhere but there were a few good finds in store for me! I found a few serving dishes and some kitchen knick-knacks! I walked away a happy bargain hunter! Thanks Goodwill and those that donate, it makes for a fun Sunday afternoon!"
"This Goodwill location has sure picked up their game. This place used to be the nasty of the nasty, not like other Goodwills in town. So I was previously staying far far away. Now, it's really cleaned up its look, what they've got out on the floor and their organization. The thing with Goodwill that still drives me crazy and won't be fixed anytime soon is the problem with the racks not being organized by size. They're still organized by color which is cool, but you've got to go through EVERY item and look at every tag to see what size it is, rather than from XS to XL. It's kinda annoying, especially if I'm in a hurry."
"First I am a hard core thrifter and have been to every Goodwill in Albuquerque (including the clearance center) and the one in Santa Fe near Meow Wolf. So have a lot of experience with them! For some reason every time I go in this location I find at least one treasure. Before virus hit I purchased two Shell Lamps at 9.99 each. including shades. When I went home I looked up and they are Safavieh and sell for $80 more or less EACH. Wow and they are gorgeous in our bedroom. Also purchased a "yard art" metal item - 5.99. If you went to some where like Jackalope I guarantee it would be minimum $100. Like all thrift stores inventory moves quickly so if you love it and are "thinking about it" go for it and grab it.Also note the staff here are exceptional. So very nice. This is a non profit so please make sure you are super nice to the folks!"
"Absolutely terrible Goodwilll. Barely anything on the racks. Nobody at the registers...don't bother."
"This store has a lot of antiques and collectibles. The customer service is excellent! However they do not have very much of a surplus selection. And a lot of items do not have a price tag, it is dependent on who is behind the counter. If you're looking for surplus this is not the place unfortunately."
"New Goodwill without the smell!!Organized, with lots of good quality stuffHintsAlways look in the locked case for high end purses, small electronics and jewelry Ask if they are about to bring out new items and wait for it they are sometimes good items!!Always throughly check clothesNo stains, zippers workFriendly staff"
"very nice local thrift store got some cute clothes at great prices! great home goods, clothes, tool, and knick-knack selections. excited to come back! the owners are very supportive of veterans and under-privileged populations. everywhere you look you can tell the owners are here to support rio rancho!"
"This little thrift shop had some cute finds. There were dishes, chachkis, scarves, prints, and jewelry. The store was very clean and organized. Items were clearly priced. Staff were professional and nice. I thought prices were a little high, but it's for a good cause."
"The best thrift boutique in Albuquerque! Always amazing selection that will leave you looking snatched to the gods honey. Super fun events that are out of this world. Amazing queen of an owner who is so creative, has a great eye for fashion, and an ally/advocate for so many. A true staple in Abq!"
"Very clean and organized! Great variety of things from clothes to books to kitchen gadgets! If you love a bargain this is a great place to look!"
"If you're a big fan of hounding down second-hand awesomeness, like I am, your first venture should actually be the flea market circuit. Thrift stores, much as they can unveil diamonds in the rough, are indeed labor-intensive and exhaustive. Good flea markets refuse to allow worn and torn merchandise to sit on any shelf. The Family Indoor Flea Market offers booth after booth of delightful finds, and yeah, a lot of this stuff might be sitting in your grandparent's cabin in the mountains, but there's plenty of retro goodness tucked alongside at prices that compare or often beat what you'll find at your local Goodwill.I didn't buy anything here, but I spent about a half hour admiring the goods and I can think of four or five items I'm itching to pull my consumer trigger finger on. Albuquerque is awash in flea markets, which makes a ton of sense because, hey, this entire state is about two decades behind the times and so there's plenty of Rubik's Cubes to go around. There's a ton to find, here: furniture (not couches, but tables and chairs galore), decorations, lamps, comics and kids items, you name it. And again, I was often astonished at the cost. Here's a nudge: some of these vendors are seriously desperate for a sale. Cheap, you hear me? And I can dig that. I'm cheap. Sounds good to me."
"Local small family business. Huge variety of goods. Always updating because the prices are so reasonable that the owner has a frequent turnover of goods. If you see something you like, buy it now or the next customer will. The shop also has small selection of local neighborhood artists that have co-signed their arts and crafts with G,E.M. A fun place to browse for unexpected treasures. The owner is following all pandemic recommendations - requiring masks, hand sanitizer on hand, and limiting the number of customers at a time. Worth your time to sit on the porch, enjoy the sun, visit with neighbors (at a safe distance) and wait your turn.P.S. They are a THRIFT STORE! They do not sell gems. G.E.M. stands for Green Earth Matters. Protecting the Earth by not continuing to always buy new. The owners believe in re-cycling & re-using. Using goods over & over until they wear out. Pay it forward."
