"I'm so glad I decided to Request a Quote. In case you're unawares, it's a feature on the Yelp app that connects you with a handful of companies that bid and compete for your home project. When I decided I needed a landscaping company for a patio water feature, I was pretty sure of the company I was going to hire, but since it was free and easy, I had several companies come out to consult. Landco wasn't my first choice, but I liked David Bennett, the owner, immediately; he seemed genuinely intrigued and excited about beautifying our space, his estimate was very fair, and he provided design work before he got started. Now that he's finished, I'm absolutely confident I signed up with the right company.So you need to check out the photos to really understand what his guys accomplished. They built a split face brick and natural stone water feature that transformed our backyard into a space our entire family is going to enjoy for many years to come, and I'm going to throw more than a few parties, sorry/not sorry, neighbors. The fountain has an LED light panel with color and intensity options, two terrific evergreen bushes and most importantly, the water output is super lush -- no trickling drip for us -- truly diluting/masking the noise pollution nearby. This review is definitely a long time coming. Due to difficulties on my end and Dave's, the project took a while to complete; Dave runs a small crew and he needed to put the right people on this job. "I had a TON (more like 7!) of sand that needed removed. I had Trenton come do the estimate. He gave a very reasonable price. He showed up on time and started work. The team is very dependable and they communicate well. They did an excellent job, did exactly what we asked. Our yard looks so much better! They laid fabric and rocks over where the sand was, and put in hydrangeas. I consulted with them on what flowers would work in the specified area and they were very knowledgeable and helpful in helping us select the best options. He even picked up the bushes himself and planted them. I had existing garden boxes already on the sand, and they were extremely careful to keep everything intact. I highly recommend Tazz for your yard."

"It was New Years and a 30- foot heavy tree was off its roots at my rental house, its main fork cracked and wedged on another tree and ready to come crashing down on my neighbor's house six feet away. I desperately googled in search of a reputable tree service that would remove the damaged tree before it fell on my neighbor's house causing thousands of dollars in damage. I wrote down the names of 10 tree service businesses and texted and left a message. Leo Rodriguez of Leo's Tree Service was the only one to reply that same day. In fact, he called me from the rental and was ready to remove the tree that same day, but banks were closed so I had to schedule the removal for the next day. Leo was easy to negotiate with. He offered to remove the tree for $ 950.00. My counteroffer was $850 and he only had to cut the tree five feet from the ground. He accepted my offer of $850.00 and much to my surprise he removed the trunk with its rotten roots free.I thought Leo's Tree Service was going to be two men and a chainsaw but Leo showed up with two extra men and a convoy of sophisticated vehicles, including a smashing vehicle, all which made the cleaning up of the jobsite quicker and accurate. Not a single dry leaf was left on my property or on my neighbor's property.Leo and his workers are professional in every aspect of the word. They were friendly and considerate. One worker even informed the neighbors of the tree project and apologized to them in advance for any inconvenience the noise from their work might cause them.Neighbors were so impressed with Leo"s Tree Service performance that one neighbor even hired them for a small project in their front yard.Gerry1/4/25"

"I contacted Red Shovel for help with our yard. We have a 1/4 acre city lot here in the heights of burque. Due to our circumstances the yard got away from us and we had a front to back category 5 mess. From the first call to signing the bill at the end of the day these folks have been and are professional, attentive, and just plain easy to communicate with. I was able to get an appointment within a few weeks. Not bad for busy leaf / holiday clean up season. I received a reminder 2 days before and a call from the estimator/crew foreman the day before to confirm the appointment. Anfernie called about 10 min out the morning of to give a heads up. I was able to put the dogs away and open the gate. Anfernie arrived on time and ready to work. We walked the property with Anfernie listening intently to everything I said and was effortless in getting everything arranged and considered for what I wanted done. He quickly gave me an estimate for everything and I was surprised by how fair and easy to understand it was. At this point I gave the green light. This was at about 8:30. Within minutes there were 3 trucks and a handful of people getting to work. I was very impressed with this. We all have hired those two guys who work their tails off but take 3 days longer and 25% more $ to get the job done. Red shovel could not be further from that situation. These folks show up in force and have a deep bench. They have modern equipment and the people skilled at running it. Nobody broke anything at all. None of my stuff went missing. These folks were all over our yard the whole day through doing all manner of yard work. Two small trees and 5+ big truckloads later everything that was agreed upon and even a few nice touches like weeding our beds was done. At some point there were 9 people on property going full bore. I don't think they hire anyone with a slow gait. Anfernie approached with the bill tablet and I braced for the bad news. To my surprise it was exactly what we agreed on. Everyone was professional, polite, attentive, and hardworking. What a breath of fresh air. I would recommend Red Shovel to friends and family. I plan to continue reimagining our yard with them. Thank you Red Shovel for a job well done. The value of their work in my opinion is outstanding."

"I'm new to New Mexico and need to landscape my front yard to comply with HOA standards. La Barge Landscape gave a very competitive bid and didn't flinch when I added things on at the last minute. They gave me a price, a plan and a schedule and then stuck to it. During the fence work a couple of bricks dislodged and La Barge Landscape came out and promptly fixed it. They set the sprinklers and drip system that was already in place and took care of everything, including pictures for HOA approval. All I had to do was sit back and enjoy my new yard. Highly recommend them for landscape, flagstone and fence work. Once my pool is completed I will be calling them to put in a flagstone patio and other landscaping."

"The manifold control system in my sprinkler system needed to be replaced as it had corroded over a 20+ year period. I called around and got a nest from another vendor for $800.00 just to diagnose the problem. They claimed they would apply that amount "if" I approved the total cost to repair, plus parts and additional labor. They hinted it could run as high as $3,000.00. Ouch!Penguin was responsive, honest, and cut me a break on the total cost regardless of parts and labor. In other words, it was a set cost for the entire job. The technician was outstanding! He made the repairs by himself. Total job time was about three hours. He replaced the entire manifold valve system, new pipes, valves, everything! Yeah I think I appreciated as he didn't tear apart my entire front yard to do the job. He knew exactly where to dig and to minimize any disruption or damage to my front yard or shrubs. In the end the job came out perfect! We tested the system a couple of times and it worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this company but be prepared for high costs as this type of work requires a lot of experience, labor, and of course parts. Two thumbs up!"

I asked the guy that does my yard if he know of anyone and recommended deerbrooke to me. Rather than digging up my entire yard and charging me 2k, he was able to repair the pipe for $100. I would recommend him to anyone that wants good service and a reasonable price."

"We bought a house that the previous owners let their backyard grass die and weeds overgrow, we wanted turf and new gravel for our little dog. Also for lower maintenance, saving on water and mowing. Chris came out and gave us an estimate, he was actually significantly cheaper than another highly rated company in Albuquerque. Apparently (makes sense) other companies buy their turf from synlawn as they manufacture it. It took about 4 months until they could come out, but they did an excellent job putting in the turf and removing the old gravel and dirt. It took less than a week, the guys were professional and courteous, easy to talk to regarding what was being done. It was a fairly large job, but they handled it well. They also put in extra turf right outside the dog door for no extra charge! When Chris came for the estimate he did my front for free (dead grass replace with gravel around a large tree). We did not discuss extra gravel in an area in the front but they were able to do it no problem. Added a bit extra money, to be expected. My dog loves it, they are to send a pet odor spray, will update when this is done. They also left the extra turf for me to use (which I paid for), but this was an unexpected and welcome surprise. Thank you synlawn for your excellent job, we are very pleased and would recommend. They came recommended from a friend's dad who used them. If you're looking for xeroscaping with turf, I'd recommend Synlawn. My only complaint is for a large company they don't have a link to securely pay through, it was all done over the phone, which is fine, but not exactly secure. Thanks again!"
