"Loved my experience at Old Town, but this place takes the cake. Sure it doesn't have the finazz and the shine as the other stores in that general area, but that's PRECISELY the reason why I like it. When I walked in the other stores, mostly owned by Middle Eastern proprietors, I felt like I was approached by people working on commission. You know the feeling when your guard is up because you have a feeling that they're trying to swindle you...The Indian Trading Post was different. It looked and felt exactly what I had expected it to look and feel like. The selection here was immense, and I really liked the fact that it was Indian owned and sold only Indian-made jewelry. Mary, the clerk behind the owner was great! She made us feel right at home sharing the history of her people. She knew the story and the name of every craftsman/artist who sold their goods at her store. I left the store with a beautiful bracelet for a great price and a lot of wonderful memories."
"If I had a vintage store (someday!?) I would want it to be something like this. You feel a bit transported when entering the blocky new building (how did those developers think that matched El Vado?) into a warm, colorful, maximalist shop. Good range of vintage...probably more 60s-80s than anything else, but there is definitely some earlier stuff and some newer items as well. Good pieces from all eras. Lots of clothes and some decorative and home goods as well. Prices seemed fair. I look forward to going back and exploring!"
"This is the most enchanting shop located inside Chomp across from Radish and Rye. The owner, Marybeth Bartlett, has exquisite taste and imports the most delectable goodies from Italy that you simply can't find anywhere else."
"One of my favorite spots in Santa Fe. And yes, that's spoken from a tourist point of view. It's hard not to even though I'm from Santa Fe. It's on a busy corner near the downtown and many tourists are drawn in as they drive by. But that doesn't mean they don't have nice things through out. I have stopped in many times over the years. For things from Moccasins to "Story Tellers" to Kachina Dolls to different odds and ends gifts for relatives. I have gotten things for my daughter and for my mom. The last time I was around I spent a lot time trying to decide what Kachina doll I would like to get. The are more mini statue than doll. And there many different characters. Not to mention they are made differently from tribe to tribe. I got the "Black Ogre", but feel free to stop in and pick out something that connects with you."
"Great service from these guys. I am a new Daguerreotypist photographer, and I was referred to them by CDags.org as one option for silver plating. Aron gave me excellent suggestions, even giving me Jerry Spagnoli (well know Daguerreotypist) contact information for sourcing metal plates."
"This cute little shop needs more advertising and people coming in because is a great place to stop if you are driving by or live in the area. The ladies here are so nice that made me wanna stay and chat with them. Everything is either vintage, unique art, locally made or fun crafts at very affordable prices."
"You can't have a better experience shopping in a vintage store than the experience you'll have here! The owner or manager was so nice to my grandson that I'll stop in here every time we are in town from now on! After looking at every single thing in the place, he finally landed on a roadrunner bolo tie that he fell in love with. There are so many interesting items here, you'll surely find something to fall in love with, too!"
"Wow. Looks like a few people have had really bad experiences here. That's too bad. This place was colorful and filled with jewelry--evidently, that's their main thing. They also had a case of retooled/ embellished Louis Vuitton bags, if the simple brown with logo doesn't meet the expectations of your bedazzler loving heart. They had some flowy, hit the buffet table without shame or fear of busting some buttons shifts, dresses and skirts. Felt like one of the sales ladies was following me around the store like a bad, obvious tail like a cop. It made me feel uncomfortable. Another staff lady was overly eager to describe who made what or what the material of the item was without being asked. Hey, can I just look around and signal if I want a rundown on where the sheep were raised before giving up their wool for this rainbow colored item."
"Old Town is riddled w/ shops & restaurants.... in other words, it's my kind of place Grandfather Eagle was 1 of our stops & we def found some treasure. Scored some 1-of-a-kind Coral & White Gold earrings as well as a super-cool ring w/ a vein of turquoise running through Prices are on the high side & this was *after* the disclosed discount.... ( little secret: every time you're shown something at most of these stores, you're told about a "special discount" ) It's Old Town & a tourist trap ... just roll w/ it Staff was noncommittal & didn't really seem to care whether she sold anything or not.... could have been the fresh out of the Balloon Fiesta attire that we were wearing that didn't exactly scream serious-to-buy-customer but fair is fair. We saw this demeanor everywhere we went so can't say it was singular to this shop Whatever - I got 2 really nice pieces of unique jewelry that'll always remind me of our great weekend in ABQ!Focus on the great pieces & you'll be more than satisfied"
"What a treat to discover this place after living in Corrales almost my entire life. My mom has always told me about it but, for some reason or another, I assumed it was a Southwestern jewelry store--I was terribly wrong. Upon entering the store, the first thing I noticed was a turn-of-the-century chemise for sale. In the same area, there were a few vintage kimonos and haori--how did I not know about this place before?? Treasure upon vintage treasure can be found in this amazing store, tucked away in the center of the Village of Corrales. They have case after case of beautiful antique jewelry, but they also have old toys, clothing and household décor. This place is a MUST for antique shoppers and just next door is another Corrales antique treasure shop (the name currently escapes me, but it is also a MUST). It is a bit pricey but at least you are guaranteed a one-of-a-kind find. Check this place out and be amazed, than stop in at any of the yummy restaurants within walking distance: Indigo Crow, Hannah and Nates, or the Corrales Brewery. Enjoy!"
"All the jewelers that make the jewelry are selected by Raphael and Martin after years of knowing them. I been buying jewelry from them for 30 years and each piece is treasured by myself and my wife. The selection offered is always super with the price excellent. I look forward to the next I buy."
"I'm out of school for a few weeks over the summer so my days are full of shopping adventures and errands. My boyfriend asked me to take two of his watches that had stopped ticking to get the batteries replaced. I didn't even know where to start-- honestly, I thought you got rid of them once their batteries stopped working. EEK! Anyway, I asked for suggestions on Facebook from my friend group and was recommended a shop in Hoffman Town Shopping Center but when I arrived it was closed so I hopped on Yelp and did a little research. After calling 3 stores for quotes, I decided to go with Lonnie's because of it's proximity to where I was (it's in Uptown) and it's good reviews. They changed the batteries out of the watches while I waited about 15 minutes. One of the people working there saw me eyeing the rings so she came over and let me try several on. I was able to learn about the family-owned business and see jewelers at work making custom pieces. Was definitely a gem hidden in a quiet neighborhood but I intend on returning next time I'm replacing a watch battery or looking for a custom piece."

Last week was my first visit to Albuquerque. The worst experience I had in that city was the clerk of this store, I really love the flavor of Old Town and the nostalgia it possesses. I came in with a very well respected decorated retired Chief of Police. What made this trip pivotal for me was it was my first introduction to my girlfriends family. While in the store I felt unwelcome and watched. While my gf tried to capture a wonderful moment of us the clerk said aloud. " ma'am you can't take pictures in here" Know maybe there was a sign clearly posted but we didn't see it coming from the connecting store. Coming from the NW I was surprised at the level is arrogance that clerk appear to have. We took our business elsewhere and purchased beautiful memory pieces from other locations. I'm not saying that the feeling was race related but it just appeared to feel that way because I observed her mannerism to a customer before we walked in. I work for a major hosptial medical equipment company and my girlfriend is a nurse.

Swan Song is one of those special places that makes you feel like a local even if you're from out of town. The shop owner is so nice and she has great tips on things to do in the Albuquerque area. The shop is beautifully curated with lots of unique local items. I got a vintage dress with a desert landscape pattern on it, a bag of locally made prickly pear candy, and an embossed leather purse - all at very affordable prices. Great shop!!

First time in Santa Fe from Virginia Beach. Hubby and I was browsing around something caught my eyes the fringe leather bag and the fringe bootcut pants one of the kind . David was very helpful, friendly . He didn't rush me to buy. I'm very fussy lady . I'm happy with his service.

"Creations in art! This place is a Central art gallery in the downtown area of Albuquerque. They have a great collection of diverse art, all showcasing the local talent, scenery and culture of the Land of Enchantment. They focus on New Mexico scenes and artists heavily here. It's a long list of talented local artists that they're showing off in different media. They have a great collection of paintings, pottery, clocks, knickknacks, and tchotchkes. My favorite stuff was the paintings of New Mexico in the wintertime, or of the Sandia Mountains. The staff was very welcoming, and answered questions about the works. They have a friendly white dog that's eager to greet any customers and make sure you see the art! The prices were reasonable for the quality of work that you're getting. Most of the stuff wasn't impulse buys, but something that you'd proudly display on your mantle of your southwestern home. Parking can be difficult, since it's on the Albuquerque main drag, Central Ave. There's metered parking out front."
"I have worked with Kay over the years. She custom made a particular ring that I absolutely cannot love enough. We sat and talked about my style but I wasn't even sure what I wanted. Before I knew it she had exactly in mind and created truly a piece of art. She is by far the most talented person I have ever known. She knows the customers heart and what they really want. She does not stop working until she knows you are in love with your piece. She makes it for you and only you. You will never see anyone else after you work with Kay."
"Great customer service at all shops with a huge variety of Native American and Contemporary selections. Also providing the best prices around. My collection has grown because of this beautiful NM Boutique."
"Harris Jewelers is the best around. I take all my jewelry there to be fixed and polished along with my husbands and adult kids. They are so honest and loyal. They remember you like you remember them. They fixed my husbands watch and didn't have time to set it because it's a complicated watch and Mark wanted to look it up online to set it which was extremely nice but my husband could do that. They go above and beyond. If you haven't been please go and just try it."
"Lessons, stone selection & workplace value all excellent & well done. Eileen & Dennis are a wealth of information. Great oversight & instruction."
"Stunning, hand-crafted Native American, turquoise and silver jewelry from local artisans at incredibly reasonable prices. Located far from Old Town with a humble exterior, but don't let that stop you. The owner is friendly, low-pressure, and highly knowledgeable. With this quality at these prices, you'll happily walk out with more pieces than you planned."
"Shelton Jewelers is where you go when you want the best quality jewelry with the best service! We came in to look at a specific ring to replace my previous wedding ring and it looked even better than the pictures! The service is impeccable and I appreciated getting my finger sized so we would get the right size for my ring. All the staff here clearly cares about the quality of your jewelry as well as your satisfaction. They really go above and beyond! I can't believe how wonderful they all have been and that I'm getting such a stunning piece! I never thought I would wear let alone own something so gorgeous!"
"I went in with a tangled 60 yr old gold chain from Italy, having been told by another jeweler there was nothing that could be done, and walked out 5 minutes later with a perfectly straightened out bracelet! I like the personal attention I receive at Butterfield and the feeling of security. This family-owned business does quick repairs and has a very nice inventory of lovely pieces."
"A very good selection of beads and everything you need to make jewelry. Helpful employees and good prices too!"
"Literally the best jeweler in the 505. We first saw Pat and Lucille to replace a battery in my favorite Snoopy watch. Eventually bought a custom wedding band, jacket style that my engagement ring fit perfectly. Honest, friendly, and great service. Lil Bella greets me when we go in. Pat and Lucille are like family. Highly recommend. You're seriously missing out if you don't stop in."
"I'm really shocked that Birdland has so few reviews. Shocked, I tell you. The place is older than Nob Hill dirt, and it's a survivor. All the haters who thought this hippie-dom would someday tank, guess what? Sip on this bong water, baby. Like a Hendrix guitar lick and the Lava Lamp, Birdland is simply timeless. Hold tight, I've got the munchies...And I'm back. So, what was I writing about, again? OH, right, right. So Birdland. First off, do you know the dryer sheet trick? You take a cardboard toilet paper roll and stuff it with a few dryer sheets. If dad or mom is around, just blow your bong rip through the tube, and bam: linen smoke. Seriously. And while you're at it, you should light some incense that you bought from Birdland. And, dude, you need to cover your windows, man. Get some Zeppelin wall covers, those fabric kind, and just pin 'em up all over the place. They're glow-in-the-dark, dude. And they've got some seriously wicked glass pipes, too. And oh yeah, last time I was there I saw some trippy body piercings. Oh, and they just re-painted that VW bus in the front: it's all psychedelic. Come to think of it, dude, let's just go there already. I'm so jonesing to see what's new.Hold up, hold up. I need to drop some Visine, bro."
"This is a small shop crammed full of authentic Native American jewelry: vintage and modern. They stock earrings, bracelets, pins, pendants, rings necklaces and knives. Something for everyone's taste in crafted jewelry from simple to ornate or gaudy. The vast majority are created in sterling silver. It could be plain silver, silver with 1 or 2 turquoise stones or intricately inlaid with a variety of stones. We bought a few pieces to give as gifts and ordered a gold inlayed Kokopelli pendant. I'm not a white gold/silver person. They have both previously pawned and estate turquoise jewelry. There is a display with examples of how styles have changed over the decades. The selection is excellent and what they don't have can usually be ordered. But like other shops geared for the tourist industry, almost everything is 50% off all the time. Ho-hum, trite marketing ploy."
"This store reminded me of the local jewelry stores in Scottsdale. They offer a wide-variety of all things New Mexico and it's a perfect shop to get some touristy gifts for you or your loved ones. I left with a bracelet and some other fun finds. The pricing was pretty reasonable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Whether you need jewelry, NM food products or touristy finds, this is a good spot to visit."
"Massive selection of inexpensive toys, trinkets and such. From coffee mugs to keychains with names on them, you'll find all the mementoes here that you could possibly imagine. Prices range from low to medium. The gal who rang me up was friendly and nice."
"Owner is a walking database of coins. Have made two recent visits as I have the unwelcome task of clearing out my mother's house. He knew exactly what I has and made a no nonsense offer both times. If I unearth anything that I think might be more than laundry money I will make another visit."
"I am planning to propose to the love of my life in September, and I was shopping for the ring back in May. I went to a bunch of Jewlery stores, I started off with the major chains. I had a very specific design in mind and I was shopping around for price, quality and confidence in the business who was making it. Most of the major jewlery chains had a lot of mixed reviews, and quite a few horror stories which scared me. Most of those jewlery stores didn't even make the custom rings themselves, they outsourced the whole project out of state, so not only did they quote longer waiting times but they also didn't have that personal touch I was hoping for. I know we're in the year 2023 where every purchase feels like Amazon buys but I really prefer the mom pop shops that Can wow you on service over the "ring mills" as I'm referring to the massive chains, that treat you like a number. Then I found John Thomas Jewlers. The experience was totally different. The difference could be felt from the moment I walked through the door. First, I was greeted with an assortment of Fiji water snacks soda etc. Next, I was asked about the details of what I would like in an engagement ring, they took me step by step, showed me the diamonds, the clarity differences, the cuts, the differences between lab grown and natural (which there wasn't much of a difference by the way), and the various sizes and shape of the stones. I learned more about diamonds than I ever thought was possible. None of the other jewlery chains gave me a Diamond education in that way, and the diamonds they had were nice but they were NOTHING like the unbelievable Diamond I got from John thomas Jewlers. I didn't post the actual ring picture because it was very personal and custom and I don't want to have everyone start making the same ring design because they saw it on Yelp haha, I know that sounds selfish but I spent months drawing and planning it out and taking my sketch to John thomas and working with their designer and then we did a wax mold after, a lot of work went into it. But I wanna tell you guys this, if I you can imagine it in your head, John thomas can make it a reality. They definitely knocked it out of the park. In addition to the service being better, the quality of the Diamond being better, the price was better too. I got a better product for a slightly lower price. I'll tell you one thing for sure, I'll never shop anywhere else again! When I picked up the ring, John thomas himself was attending to me. I felt privileged to get such personal service where the owner not only was finalizing my purchase but knew about my ring through every step of the process we went through. I just love how hands on he was. This is the kind of personal service that gets lost in larger chains. I wish I could give this business a million stars! P.S they have like a kids play room with what looks like a rock wall, it's cute, so you could come here with your kids while you shop and keep them entertained. I don't have kids yet but I still thought it was a cute touch to the store"
"Small little shop. Found an opal set for mom for Mother's Day. First day of our trip and I am already done getting mom's gifts already. Opals are simple, muted but yet a pretty gem. Lots of Sterling silver jewelry items.$316 for two sets of earrings, clasped bracelet and a necklace for mom, all were discounted by 50%."
"I rarely need jewelry repair but D'Alicia was great. Their staff is as friendly and helpful. I walked in with my sons broken watch and they were able to fix it no problem!Thank you!"
"Bad pawn shop please do not take your items here (especially electronics) I had a projector worth $55 and they offered me $5 also I had 3 ps4's and they only took the PS4 slim and pro model and they offered me $100 for both and I brought a Peavey Amp and they also offered me $5 (Btw I paid over $200 for the Amp I used a few times) so I wouldn't recommend going here it's a waste of time"
"The Silver Owl is an incredible gem! Worked with Paula to create a stunning custom one of a kind ring. She is simply amazing!!! Worked with me through the whole process and truly did an exceptional job. Then if that was not enough she came in with final pricing well below her quote and budget. Amazing!!!!!"
"A lot of the shops in Santa Fe feel like they are either (1) super expensive art galleries or (1) just packed with stuff. Sun Country Traders is different; there's plenty of space to move around and things aren't grotesquely overpriced. To me, this is the most interesting thing about this shop. The owners/workers seem to be very laid-back. No heavy sales pressure, and they seem just glad to chat a while! I was in here looking at some Navajo folk art carvings. The worker I spoke with was knowledgeable and unassuming, which I found very refreshing. I didn't end up buying anything, but if something had caught my eye, I definitely would've bought it here. I will be back."
"Sorry to report this gallery is not open anymore. Christin Wolf died a few years ago. He was a true artist and created beautiful jewelry. I always enjoyed talking with him. When friends or family visited, I always took them to his shop and everyone bought a few pieces. I treasure the many pieces of his work I own. RIP"
"Gorgeous, authentic jewelry and one of the few Native-owned jewelry stores in Old Town. Customer service was excellent and I love my new earrings!"
