I'm in need of new water heater and since I'm a Home Depot customer I wanted to purchase a new water heater and installation, well after having to deal with inexperienced customer service representative at MCS for the last week was awful. I had to get a correct quote from their competitors. I kept asking for a tech to come out to measure but she claimed they do not do that. They were going to set up an appointment to install a 19" and kept telling her it's not the right size. She is rude and unfortunately I will not do business with this company because she knows more than the customer. And by the way it's an 18" not a 19". If I allowed this company to work on my house I still would be without water another week. Note: the employees you have answering your phone and first contact makes a good impression on your company or it doesn't. I do not recommend this company.

Melvin came to my house to give an estimate for installing air conditioning in my 3,000 sq ft house. I told him I was thinking about a 5 ton for the upstairs and a 3 ton for downstairs, but that he was the expert and could give me his opinion. He clearly cannot handle anyone who can speak intelligently about his business because he became insulting, wanting to know where "those numbers came from". I thought he was rude because I was a woman, speaking SEERS and BTUs, but I read a lot of reviews and saw he also demeans men. I don't have time for chest thumping and workers who don't know good customer service from their.... I escorted him out. Deb said Melvin was their only guy and also indicated they knew he interacted with people unprofessionally. And yet they do nothing about it? Their loss. I'm moving on to a company who is not threatened by people who have knowledge about their business. Kind of makes you wonder: what do they want to get away with?

I've used Davis as my plumber for over 15 years. I stick with them because they do excellent work, but more importantly because they've always been honest. I woke to no hot water this a.m., the problem was fixed within 2 hours after calling them at considerably less than I expected to pay. Great business!!

Initially they gave me an estimate which was outrageous (over a grand) so I decided to buy most of the parts they recommended. ( I am a teacher so I don't have loads of money) They did tell me if I bought new parts, they were not "guaranteed". So I did decide to buy the water heater, gas line, expansion tank and the few other parts they said I needed. In the end, they did not confer with me about those new parts I bought and they only used the water heater I bought at Lowe's but not the new parts (their choice) It seemed like they were trying to save me money, which I appreciated, but now my water heater is leaking from the top. The owner Al, came out, tightened it and said it should never leak again. It did, so I called him again and he said he would come out and fix it. This was 2.5 weeks ago, (water heater is still leaking all this time BTW) NEVER said "Oh by the way, we are charging you labor plus the part." I assumed since they did not use the new parts I bought, that that was on them. I called him and tried to work it out. I told him that when I called him the second time he did not tell me upfront he was charging me labor and that I needed to buy the new part. He decides to call me two days BEFORE to say, "Oh btw, I am charging you labor and parts." I did not appreciate him not being upfront, assumed since they did not use the new parts I bought, that that was on them. Nooooooo, I was sadly mistaken. This company IMO is all about the $$ and not good customer service. Now I have to call someone else to come out and do the job they SHOULD have done in the first place! I am so disappointed because they came highly recommended. Don't try to reason with Al the owner either, because he will try to make you fee like it is your fault, he will raise his voice and yell at you, he even had the audacity to say to me, "Oh, I knew you would say that." as if the situation was my fault, when clearly, it is not. He has so much business right now his only concern is making that dough and not great customer service. I do not recommend this company. Also, when trying to problem solve, this owner AL AND his wife Pearl BOTH have terrible people skills. In conversations they "talk over you" and never really LISTEN to the customer. Pearl just told me that she could not talk to me and that I would have to wait to talk to their worker "Matthew" because she she apparently didn't have to ppl skills to work out this problem. "I live in an older home that has been remodeled several times over the years. I was considering moving some units around, and installing wall heaters upstairs thinking I could greatly improve my system. I called Academy for advice, and they sent their field expert (Bill Collins) over to assess my situation. He spent over an hour at my home. He recommended some affordable tweaks to the system I have, and convinced me that I could easily improve the existing layout and save a bunch of money. He didn't try to sell me any services or products. When he was leaving, I asked that Academy send me a bill for his time. He told me there was no charge & that Academy considers my call a customer service. I will be a customer when I will need upgrades or repairs, so the company philosophy worked perfectly. "We recently returned from a vacation to find our AC blowing hot air. The house was registering 92 degrees! DS installed our system and We have a maintenance contract with DS (now First Rate) and they responded that evening. They sent out Benjamin who is phenomenal! As soon as he touched it, it started working. He couldn't trouble shoot it very well because it was working, but spent a half hour trying to figure it out. That evening, nothing seemed to point to an issue, so he left. 10 minutes after he left, it started blowing hot again.We called the next morning, again great service response and they promised Benjamin would return in the afternoon.He did! And this time he was able to isolate the issue and fix it. Benjamin was educational, patient, professional. Terry and Andrea are super on the responsiveness and scheduling - thank you to the team! Way to go DS, you deserve the new "First Rate" name!"
"After posting this review, I was contacted by the company and provided an explanation. While the behavior and demeanor of the technician is accurate, I applaud the company for their efforts in resolving customer service issues. ------------------------------- We had a service contract with this company. Calling their office, the phone is always answered by Brianna, whom is consistently clueless about finding accounts, passing on any messages, or scheduling service. She also seems unwilling to help in any way. It's very frustrating trying to get anything scheduled. We paid a lot of money for a service contract but got no service. We finally got someone to come out and look at our bedroom unit which is less than two years old and was installed by Anderson Air Corps. A fact which they repeatedly forget. The unit needed replacement of an electronic part that they admitted was installed incorrectly. Again, they installed it but keep forgetting this. The technician said he would order the part and it would take four days. 7 days later I called to check and no one knew what I was talking about. Finally got to someone that could help and the technician emailed that he had not ordered part because he did not known if we wanted it. WTF! We have no heat so yes, we want it fixed. The whole reason for calling. Part was ordered and repaired. 3 weeks later. He also agreed to replace two thermostats with ecobee smart thermostats. He replaced one, incorrectly so only the cooling works and not the heat. It's November. He said he replaced the other one but his a cheap thermostat and left the ecobee sitting on the floor. Atill cannot get them out to replace this. The worst thing about this company is how absolutely rude and disrespectful they are when they come to your house. They treated my mom very badly and talked to her very disrespectfully. We had other workers doing things at the house and they also were very mean in the way they talked to them. My sincere advice is to never use this company. They will take your money and not provide service. They will be rude and disrespectful."

"Each and every year, twice a year I have to locate another company that can service my swamp cooler and furnace that sit on my 30ft roof. Every fall during the heater start-up I expect to pay the usual excessive rate of $100 regardless of who I go with. I say excessive because I have done the job myself in the past and it's pretty basic, doesn't take but 30min and apart from the long climb up the ladder doesn't require much skill. My issue today with Brothers is the fact that I was quoted that usual $100 before the scheduled service only to be charged 36% over at the close of the job. $20 of which was for the carbon monoxide test that I was told was included in the $100. I refused to pay more than the quote and the technician wouldn't hear me out and left saying to never contact them again...no problem sir, none at all.I did not give one star in this review because I do give credit to the technician for getting a filter (why they had none on hand is beyond me) and although he charged for this & I was willing to pay for that 'overage'- he was a kind gentlemen up until the billing dispute."
"We installed a new HVAC system two years ago and neglected to do routine maintenance since then (except cleaning the washable air handler filter infrequently). The two technicians showed up on time yesterday (promised 9-10 AM) after sending an "on our way" text). They recommended using the pleated filters instead of the blue fiberglass variety. He had a 20"x25" pleated filter in the truck that was a little long for our space. So, he took a pair of shears, chopped off just enough, and used the cardboard form cleared of material to put a border back on! Voila! Another service was cleaning the fins (?) on the outdoor compressor. After turning off the power outside, he used a hose to flush out the accumulated detritus in the unit. Our system is back to working great again! I had a chance to speak with one of the brother/owners, Paul, this evening, to share my feedback on the service call. Sounds like a very nice guy. I thanked him for their well-trained techs."
