"My stylist here is Jody Kinney, and she does high quality work! The salon is very accessible, they have good products (shampoo, conditioner, etc) available for reasonable prices, and you can get here during the day from almost any part of ABQ in 15 minutes or less. I was actually 'placed' with Jody by my previous stylist, so she even passed an interview! :D I would recommend this salon for anyone looking for a good looking haircut."
"It's a good thing this establishment isn't closer to my house or I'd be in debt! The second I walked in the door Ayanna made me feel welcomed and at home. The ambiance is great! It's pretty and cozy. She made me a cup of hot tea and we sat and talked for a while. We addressed any skin issues, talked about my diet and how that could affect my skin. It was an educational moment. I was given my facial and left with a skin toner and face lotion. My skin looks and feels smooth and clear. Well worth my time!"
"Quite amazing and very personalable.Amanda helps you to feel very comfortable with waxing techniques especially when it's your first time. Also very knowledgeable on her plant based cosmetics."
"The best selection and great pricing for nail and spa professionals. I'm not kidding, so many brands, every color! The man working at this location is so nice and helpful, too."
"A man's testimonial to a beauty supply shop that caters (almost) exclusively to the ladies:I'm pretty happy with my genetics, as far as hair goes. I got my dad's genes, thick stuff, no worries about balding anytime soon. But for the life of me, for the better part of a decade I haven't been able to find a decent shampoo and conditioner without dropping a dime times one thousand at high-end salons. And this is partly to do with my southwestern locale, I'm sure; the water out here will dry your cuticles and follicles equally. But the crap I've tried at the big outlets leaves my head either insanely oily or stiff as straw. I've tried almost all of it. I said The Hell With It, try Sally. Thanks to the cool service I received here, and the insane deal on two buckets of product ($20 for two huge tubs of shampoo/conditioner), I'm officially saved. The woman who helped me explained that the vast majority of these products are laced with chemicals that artificially make your hair feel fuller. She directed me to a stripped down product that totally worked for me. I'm guessing I won't be buying anything for the next year, and when I do, I'll come back to this outlet."
"This is a great place to buy flavored balsamic vinegars. If you have not tried it go to old town and find this shop. They have free tasting of any of their flavors. They are all wonderful and when mixed with a good quality olive oil they are scrumptious on salad. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did."
"The glorious smells of fresh-made soaps welcome you as you walk into the shop! Moderately priced, and literally thousands of soaps are on display."
"Super nice owner and her grandson working there. COVID hair loss thinned my hair. I decided to try on some wigs. Nice selection along with one-on-one attention in teaching me how to put on and off, how to care for, etc! Very satisfied and highly recommend this place! I got a lightweight and natural looking wig that is like an old haircut I once had."
"Just got my hair cut by Berenice and I love it! She took the time to fix the little details and it turned out looking great!!"
"We were walking around Coronado Mall and found a new store. They sell soaps, lotions, candles. They are out of Colorado Springs. Nice shop. They are still getting inventory and setting up more displays. They are a bit pricey but we will give them a try."

I love the products Amanda sources for us in Albuquerque so we don't have to travel to Hollywood! Foundations made from kale and other veggies? Mascara that smells like blackberries? Blush from raspberries and peaches? Yes, yes, yes! And more... She takes time to help guide you find the perfect shade for your skin tone. Even though I was incorrect being the stubborn, know-it-all self... she was kind to let me exchange when I regretted my own pick... what more can you ask for?! I'm glad she's opened a unique beauty bar for ladies to get pampered and be glamorous with all natural products. Thank you Amanda!

Used to be a fabulous place to look for nail polish of all brands, and I used to come here after I finished my finals at UNM as a reward, but now they have signs up for PROFESSIONALS ONLY which is unbelievably frustrating. Why do beauty stores do this? It's not like they have extremely low prices, it was just a huge selection. I am so disappointed. Why would they limit their customer base?

I like Old Town Olive. Great variety when it comes to the products. It's a fun set up with a nice open flow design. The staff member was very knowledgeable and helpful. She goes by the name Brittani G! I will probably be back to stock up again soon!

Picked up some local treats for some Sweet Bellas I know...WOW, holy high grade top shelf quality products, Batman...this shop is AWESOME! Brian is such a solid guy, totally passionate about his line....I absolutely loved this place, and can we talk about how amazing in smells in here????!!!!Oh, and I'm suuuuuuper stoked about the soap nuts, hunting soap, and oil for my hubs :) Can't wait to give it a go!I also took advantage of their "5 for $20" special...my treats of choice were: Petal Dance soap, Wild Rose soap, Honeysuckle soap, another bag of soap nuts and a lavender dryer sachet.Everything in here is superior quality, customer service off the charts, and I'm totally diggin the local art on the walls (art sales benefit a local nonprofit!).Definitely add this to your list of "must visits" here in the Duke City.

Dealing with my hair loss has been one of the hardest things in my life. I was so embarrassed and put off going into a shop for months. Other shops were so open and there was no privacy but then I heard about wigs by Mary Lou. Right off the bat, the woman was friendly and inviting. She helped me feel at ease and made me feel like it was perfectly okay to be buying a wig. She let my try on multiple wigs until we found one that looked natural. I couldn't have done this without her. Don't believe anything else you might read, she was a saint and treated me with nothing but respect and compassion.

"I love that Trendz has grown to have two locations & I love going to both as the wig styles and inventory vary slightly at each location. The service is always great and the options are endless. I always end up buying more than I planned because the prices are so great. I have sent many people here and will continue to do so."
"A delightful shop located in Cottonwood mall! There are lots of handmade goods by local artists. The items are high quality and well made. There is also nice home decor items, jewelry, candles, soaps, art and other artisan goods. The owner is delightful and she is supportive of local makers from the surrounding community. 100% recommended!!!!"
"Their products are AMAZING, especially the magnesium body butter. I sed it all through my pregnancy and now use it for everything, in part because its really moisturizing too. Michael, the owner is really really knowledgeable and I truly feel that their products are under-discovered."
"Owner is welcoming & knowledgeable, great selection & prices. Store is organized if you don't see what your looking for just ask."
"I'm workin' on three weeks of applying an all natural, sans-aluminum deodorant from this company, and I might as well throw out my old stick, I'll never use it again. My tiny, two ounce jar of Desert Deodorant from Dryland Wilds is such a powerful and intense product, a teensy dab does my pits plenty, just once a day, and I often sniff myself, if only to be briefly transported to the air of Abiquiu. This is an incredible company, with a simple approach to sourcing health and beauty products in harmony with the natural world. I'm so glad they call New Mexico home.A few more brief notes. Robin Moore and Cebastien Rose are transplants from California and the Pacific Northwest, with plenty of experience crafting products from plants and herbs. They moved to northern New Mexico to live a life in the high desert wilds, while running a business that sustainably expanded our knowledge and appreciation for native species. Alongside the product line, they teach small classes at various festivals and businesses around the state; last week, I had the pleasure of hand-moulding tree sap incense, infused with flowers and essences, and I learned that much of what I thought I knew about the shrubs and weeds of this state were common misperceptions. Basically, if you want to heal yourself, you can start in your own backyard. And that's why these marvelous women satisfy my personal narrative about why I live here. I grew up in the midwest, where natural beauty -- from lakes and streams to lush green forests and abundant wildlife -- were an assumed aspect of everyday existence. The harsh sunlight and dry climate of my second home, in Albuquerque, was an altogether opposite journey where I learned to appreciate the subtleties and tremendous power of the overlooked: the hues of a mesa or a sunset, a sage breeze drifting past my nose, the quiet resilience of an ever-thirsty land. I'm quite sure that Robin and Cebastien have an even stronger appreciation for these daily observations, and their products reflect a philosophy that makes me wanna smear my sweaty, stanky pits with arrowroot powder and milk of magnesia on the regular."
"What a great store and unique addition to Old Town Albuquerque! As of this writing, this is a very new business and I like their offerings. This store offers great options for stylish men. Everything from jeans, to shirts to accessories can be found here. There's also a section of cosmetic products that are great for all guys. Everything offered at Above Snakes is "clean" - all products are sustainable, made by those getting fair wages, ethically sourced, etc. This is a great spot and definitely worth a visit. Stop by this place and support this awesome business!"
"Really enjoyed the personalized attention at this store. Eco friendly & everything smelled lovely inside. We bought some sage & soap & Hector offered us some samples to keep. Thank you!"
"This review is for the spa side. I have to say the front desk is absolutely wonderful. She's helped me book and schedule several different consultations and appointments, and she is so friendly and sweet. I will also say Olivia is awesome. She's a super skilled injector who knows what she's doing and is all about helping you achieve the results you're looking for. I definitely trust her judgement. She is happy to answer your questions and is very knowledgeable. I swear I asked her about 75 annoying questions because I was nervous and she was very good-natured and sweet about it. She took the time to make me feel like I had the information I needed to feel confident in what I wanted to do. I recommend asking for her for your appointment!"
"This is an amazing shop with eco-friendly products. The shop also has many local brands. There are also many high quality products that you can purchase and refill your own containers-helping your wallet while also helping our planet! I definitely recommend this wonderful business!"
"Like so many others who have left reviews of Cedar Light, I have never received my order from Nov 2023, and it's now the end of March 2024. Of course, the company or any of its subsequent owners have shipped my products or refunded my money.I have tried follow-up email messages, phone calls, and customer service requests on their then-functioning website. As of today, their website is not working at all. What was once a wonderful company with excellent products has turned into a customer scam."
"The Nizhóní Soap Company was originally established by a young Navajo girl from Shiprock, NM.Almost close to their 4th anniversary of being a soap making company, I finally got to visit their Old Town Albuquerque store on June 14, 2023.They are currently closed Sunday-Tuesday with the rest of the week open from 11AM-5PM.This store is on the small side, but decorated nicely. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and assistive when I couldn't find a specific foam hand soap ($12.97 for an 8-oz pump bottle). While they were out of many items, they did have the Desert Rain scent I was hoping for. A bit on the pricey side, but it's a good, mild hand soap.A pre-pay parking lot is nearby. Other locations are in Farmington, NM, and Mesa, AZ.Follow this now older teenager/young woman on Instagram @nizhonisoap - her videos always feature cool upbeat music, her scent inspirations, and of course that beautiful natural Southwest desert landscape in the background!"
"KiRon is absolutely the best salon in town. Rhonda knows my hair and has kept it healthy and looking good. The staff is friendly and the salon has a happy atmosphere."
"I was surprised to find this business, and even more surprised it wasn't on Yelp yet, I mean, it's so darn... Yelpy. The addition of Sarabande's shopping odyssey alongside a fantastic paper/stationary seller, jeweler, independent bookstore and salon makes this tiny business center an easy choice for shopping local during the holidays. What I found at Sarabande:+Serious kitchenware, pots and spices that would make me appear far more sophisticated than I'm allowed to claim.+Beauty products, for once, not centered strictly on the female crowd. Hey guys, want to coax that beard in soft scents? Need a few boy scout tools for those rugged spots, or maybe a solid martini manual? You'll likely find what you're looking for.+ A completely unexpected selection of cutesy kids clothing, accessories and stuff that'll make that little bundle of drool absolutely adorable.+ Home furnishings and urban supplies that would look great in my living room if, again, I could claim any modicum of sophistication. I can't, so I tend to imagine myself living the dream and, well, then I usually grab a bowl of Flying Star mac 'n cheese and grovel in self-pity."
"Brenda is the best. Very thorough and clean. No double dipping. I love how comfortable I feel with her. We talk, laugh and catch up the whole time. I've been getting my Brazilian waxes from her for many years and I will never go anywhere else."
"Found this store while looking online for bath bombs around my area. This is my second time visiting this store. Located in the shopping center off Unser and McMahon. Where the Crackin' Crab is. They offer a wide variety of bath bombs, salts, soaps, soaks, shampoo bars, candles, kids bath bombs & soaks, also saw someT men's items there as well. Shaving soap, shaving oil, aftershave, beard oil and many more. They were showcasing the brand, Dr. Squatch and Suavecito. Which is what I was in the store to buy.Purchased some Sauvecito pomade and a bath bomb for men. Customer service was great. I'm sure I'll be back to purchase from them again."
"The store is welcoming & beautiful. The owner & his staff are sweet as pie! The products are so beautifully hand crafted & there is plenty to sample in the store. The scent combinations are so delicious to your senses! The soaps are not only beautiful but when you use them they leave your hands hydrated and skin nice and soft! The body butters are something every person should have at home and at their desk at work for a quick pick me up of skin hydration and aromatherapy. A great place to get unique gifts right in Nob Hill!"
