"Del Charro is the restaurant connected to Inn of the Govenors, the hotel we stayed at while vacationing in Santa Fe. I wanted to love it, but really I loved the atmosphere, liked the margaritas, and didn't much care for the food.I went to Del Charro for drinks twice, dinner and drinks once, and breakfast three times, as they serve the free breakfast to hotel guests in the dining room each morning.We went to Del Charro for margaritas as soon as we arrived in Santa Fe, as we waited for our hotel room to be ready. My friend ordered the house margarita and I had the prickly pear. Both were good, and not too sweet. The house margarita is large in size, and has a good balance of mixers and tequila. I loved the atmosphere. All of the locals seemed to be drinking there at that time, and we were able to chat with some different people.Breakfasts were made to order for hotel guests, and we were given a choice of about 6 different options. I enjoyed it the day I chose the omelette, but the other days I found it to be greasy.When we had dinner there, I used my Yelp check-in order for free chips, salsa and guac. That caused some trouble as they had no idea what I was talking about. Also, strangely enough, in Santa Fe, restaurants seem to charge for chips and salsa. In the end, we were able to get free chips and salsa, but no guac. I also thought that the chips were broken up and messy on the plate. I'm glad we did not pay for them. My friend and I both ordered the enchiladas, which were served with rice and beans. We ordered the sauce Christmas-style (red and green). What we received were plates of food full of sauce that hid what we were eating. We couldn't really differentiate the enchiladas from the sides. It was sort of messy and the flavors all ran together. I also had one margarita there just as I was waiting for my ride to the airport. Again, the drink was good. They played old school country, which felt very fitting for the atmosphere. It felt relaxed and peaceful in the bar. All in all, I would recommend Del Charro for drinks. The bar is a nice place to sit and chat. I would describe the food as passable."

"A new friend invited me to join him for dinner at Zinc.  He made us a reservation for a weeknight, and we were seated upstairs; the atmosphere was warm and comforting, with service that was totally on-point.  It was quiet enough at our table to be able to have a conversation without raising our voices unnecessarily :-)Tip: Zinc has a very well equipped wine list; we had no trouble finding something to our liking that paired nicely with our foodAs our appetizer, we both went with the Onion Soup Gratinee (toasted baguette, gruyeye & fontina cheeses).  I completely loved the soup; it was salty (just enough to be tasty, without overdoing it) hearty, and busting with flavor.  My friend went with the Manhattan Steak Frites as his entree, while I ordered the Grilled Lamb Strip Loin (roasted gold potatoes with feta cheese, wilted greens & shallot crips, Rhone red-thyme jus).  I tried a bite of his steak, and really enjoyed the seasoning; the Frites were also perfectly salted and fried to a beautiful golden brown.  My  Grilled Lamb was excellent!  So wonderfully seasoned, tender, and delicious that I made it vanish faster than Severus Snape confronted with shampoo ;-)I'm not quite sure how we did it, but despite the amazing entrees, we managed to save room to share a dessert.  While it wasn't all that memorable, dessert was the prefect ending to an exceptional meal.  I highly recommend Zinc, and wouldn't hesitate to return!"

Last time I was there it looked like they were starting to work on a new and improved patio so I can't wait to check that out."

"Great Italian date place! I feel like that should say it all. They got a bar, a quiet fire place type area and a general for everybody area; not to mention outside seating for when it's warm enough. Service was stellar. I had to order an item unexpectedly last minute after the last call and they still did it for me. The servers are also on top of custom orders to accommodate allergens and preferences. Food was equally awesome. Crab ravioli was super tasty."

I would come back for drinks but will probably skip ordering food next time and sit at the bar for faster service."

"I like that the place actually is well lit. Not many places like that Lots of things on the menu and they all sounds good. Ordered the green chili tortilla burger. I hope it is good.So the cook does not know what medium means on a burger. They gave to me rare and bloody. While the tortilla burger is amazing they just need know cooking. Service is great and that is what made the difference. I opted for onion rings and was not disappointed. Spaghetti you can not go wrong with it, so tasty and just right amount of sauce. Just beware the menu is on the expensive side"

"The family brought us to Little Anita's on our visit to Old Town. I walked in having zero idea of what to expect, and walked out full and happy!First of all, Aurora was a superstar server. She was pleasant, efficient, and just all-around lovely. Thank you for the great service.We started with the special: hibiscus margaritas (and a hibiscus sprite for the one guest not imbibing). They were pretty, and tasty, although a little sweeter than I personally love. Definitely get it since it's a limited menu item, but if I had a second cocktail, it would have been a regular margarita.Chips were fresh and the salsa was very blended and flavorful. The menu was huge with tons of options, and I ordered a sopapilla stuffed with beans and ground beef. Sopas aren't very popular where I live in Florida so I wanted something different.The food came out fast, and hot, and very plate looked fantastic. The rice and beans served with my dish were delicious, and the sopapilla was a nice change from regular tortillas. We also got a complimentary order of sopapillas and honey for the table - I didn't try them because I was stuffed from my meal, but everyone loved them.Great prices and amazing amount of food for the money."

It was just pretty bland. And the homemade tamales had nothing in them to speak of, were too doughy and made with too much maza, and relied on some sauce to flavor them. The only bad part of the meal was the margarita. There was little or no tequila evident, and the ice actually tasted bad, like the icemaker was dirty. Even on happy hour they were disgusting."

We were ignored most of the time. The place has a nice atmosphere and a good beer, wine and cocktail menu. The burgers were good, the tacos were ok and the frito pie wasn't very good at all. Get some volume on one of those games ... kinda felt like eating in a library, not a Fiesta. But food and service were great. Thanks for a good experience."

But makes fast drink delivery....not a thing. Their drink menu is interesting and varied and some of them are labor intensive to make. So if it is busy, you may be waiting a while for a beverage. Thankfully, we had trivia to distract us and entertain us or we probably wouldn't have stayed. That said, we had a lovely time and the drinks were delicious and I would absolutely return again.The friendly, hard-working staff were also a boon to our visit."

"*This all happened pre-COVID...*Super stylish bar in a super stylish hotel. Decor is on point. This is where you go to Instagram and sip, all at the same time. But it's also a hotel bar, so you can sit and chat with the bartender and get the lowdown on all things Santa Fe/NM. Unfortunately, the bar area was full (that's the best seat in any bar, IMO, so no shocker there) so we stood near the bar area for a bit before the bartender noticed us, took our order, and made us the drinks fairly quickly (house margarita for the wife, topo chico topped with tequila + lime for me...can't remember the name of it). We grabbed a small table and enjoyed what was a nightcap after another great day in Santa Fe. Drinks were both solid. I think we probably would've stayed for another round if a spot at the bar opened up, but instead we headed back to our room to catch some zzz's before the next day's adventure."
