Caitlyn B. "This has defiantly been our food highlight of New Mexico! Just outside of the Red Willow Pueblo sits Tiwa Kitchen. It can be easy to miss, so go slow. It was more of an off peak time, which just meant we were taken care of very quickly. I saw a former review that mentions that the restaurant is bare and lacking "ambiance". It's a small restaurant, with authentic Native American food cooked by members of the local tribe. I'm unsure what your looking for in a place like this, but we were content with the mountains in the background. I was extremely happy to see that they had chokeberry lemonade as well as chokeberry iced tea. I would probably get the iced tea on my next visit, as the lemonade was Minute Maid with the addition of chokeberry syrup. It was still very good, just a little sweeter than homemade. Everyone in our group wanted burgers! Everyone ordered blue corn fry bread buffalo burgers, I opted for a regular beef on plain fry bread. All of our meals came with fries. We were all very pleased with our meals. The burgers had great flavor and paired great with the cheese, as well as the airy fry bread. They came with classic green chili as well which was very spicy! The staff was so sweet and homey. They answered all the questions we had about the food, as well as questions about their tribe. I honestly wanted to cry, because I won't be able to have Tiwas when we get back home to TX. If your visiting the Pueblo, make it a point to eat here. If the Pueblo is closed, you can still eat here. If your staying in Taos, I highly suggest driving the two miles to get to the Pueblo. This is food you won't be able to get in town, and food you likely won't eat anywhere else!"

The front desk woman was not very friendly when I told her I had not been here before--kind of a snotty attitude. For me, good customer service entails a friendly welcoming demeanor and helpful attitude. She had none of these attributes. There were many workers there and they picked this lady to be at the front desk area. I really think training of employees is needs at this Crumbl in customer service. The lady on the back was nice and promptly gave me my order. I'm not sure I will be back though. My first impression was not good and the cookies tasted raw in the middle."

You have to ask for the small corn tortillas, because they seem to keep them in the back. Nice and fresh! $2.50 will get you a nice shit ton of them, spend $5 to get an extra pack for your neighbor like I did and make it a community taco night. :)And the price is just right! Vegan too btw as they should always be. No added junk to these bad boys, just corn, lime and H-2-O baby. It's a small little mom and pop store right next to the river on Bridge. Tiny parking lot and a tiny store front where you can buy larger flour tortillas and other items. Not sure what else to say, except if you're looking for fresh corn tortillas that are delicious and heat us so nicely on the burners, just go here."

Nicole O. "Olo!!!!!I went to pick up my grab-bag for the 2021 elites. I decided to buy some soft serve and cupcakes while I was there, because when in Rome. The soft serve has always been good. I got the cake batter and this time got the pistachio mixed with it. I got 5 cupcakes too. One vegan chocolate. Two strawberry. Two vanilla. I'm disappointed in the strawberry. It was still raw in the middle and the moisture of the rawness made it stick to the cup. The vanilla ones were hard. Like they were made yesterday? The vegan chocolate one was perfection. I'd say if you're in the mood for cupcakes, stick to the other options-- like Q-Cakes (also on Central). Nevertheless, the COVID restrictions were on point here. They put the toppings on for you. They have hand sanitizer that you're *supposed* to use prior to getting your cup for soft serve (but there isn't really enforcement of this). The staff is kind, but is this because they knew I was with Yelp? Everyone was masked and staff wore gloves (but here's the thing if the group of 5 folks that came in after me were not forced or it wasn't enforced to sanitize hands before touching the cups-- once they hand off to staff for topping whatever is on their hands is transmitted). There is a sign, to use the sanitizer, but it is not enforced. Not while I was there. No one wiped the soft serve handles down after I used them either. Here is a very important upside to me though: they have a 10% military discount and the cake batter soft serve is always amazing. They have an awesome points system. The staff has always been friendly. Just don't get your cupcakes there. Thanks for hosting our grab-bags! 4/5 would return if I was in the mood for soft serve, and most likely AFTER the pandemic"

Jeff B. "While I would have LOVED to have dined here, alas my ol' high school buddy is a tenderfoot, and I usually steer clear of spicy options for his sake. But he certainly has no problem with their amazing Bolillos. They are far more dense then you may be used to, but are versatile; we've made garlic bread for an Italian din-din, toasted it to make breadcrumbs for meatballs, and paired them with amazing Tulley's deli meat. All deliciously toothsome. Front counter gal was cool, and while we ordered 6 rolls, when we opened the bag at home we had 10. A very nice bonus from her. Look past the appearance of this joint, and grab some of these beauties. Can't go wrong..."

Howie K. "I really didn't think the food at the boutique El Vado Motel could get any better, and then, suddenly... ONE STEP BEYOND!So let's put this whole thing together. This delightful patio offers just about everything: Chicken wangs and pizza, chargrilled burgers, tacos, fabulous coffee, Costa Rican delights, craft beer and now... friggin' GOLD BARS, people. No, seriously, before I wax poetic on the other goodies, let's take a moment to break down why the Gold Bar is, similar to the Frito Pie, an Albuquirky treat of Olde Schoole lore. Correct me if I'm wrong about these two notes, which my wife provided:-- Gold Bar crusts come in two varieties: Rice Krispy or graham cracker. The top layer is pure chocolate, and chocolate's greatest lover, peanut butter, is the secret ingredient that brings everything together.-- Every Burqueño who attended public school, back in the day, knows why Gold Bars are friggin' golden. Back in the day, they cost just twenny-five cent on Fridays. Bam! Those were the days. Gold Bars at The Beach...This cool little Rude Boy nook serves up the Rice Krispy varietal (we've just discovered that Trifecta Coffee Co. has the graham style, FYI) and man, they're rich and dee-licious. But don't stop there, Rudy. This location offers plenty of ice cream, cookies (Biscochitos!), shakes and floats. And check out those waffle cones, wow! All told, this is about the only thing the El Vado was lacking, and I'm super thrilled they're here. (One quick note regarding my geekery, concerning this particular company. Yes, I'm one of those peeps who really, REALLY got into Third Wave ska, as well as every preceding wave, and I still rock Operation Ivy every now and then. I'm super proud this business embraces my old pair of two-tone suspenders.)"

They offer several different kinds of sourdough and types of bread which are ALL vegan. The whole wheat and green chili sourdough are my favorite. (It has been surprisingly difficult to find a whole wheat sourdough in town so I was super happy to see it's offered here.) The empanadas, pies, and cookies are unfortunately not vegan FYI.The inside of the bakery has a cozy/rustic aesthetic and the staff are very friendly.
