I went in with a tangled 60 yr old gold chain from Italy, having been told by another jeweler there was nothing that could be done, and walked out 5 minutes later with a perfectly straightened out bracelet! I like the personal attention I receive at Butterfield and the feeling of security. This family-owned business does quick repairs and has a very nice inventory of lovely pieces.

I'm sorry to have to post this but....I always took my watches to Beauchamp for repair/maintenance. The person doing repairs was well qualified and very, very good at his craft. Before they closed, they recommended Butterfield for repairs in future so, I took a very expensive watch to Butterfield for cleaning and a new battery. They replaced the crystal with a VERY cheap replacement that scratched very easily-the original was scratch resistant but had a small scratch in the corner. They never asked if I wanted the crystal replaced and could not put the original back because it had been discarded. Whomever did the cleaning, used a tool that actually rubbed off part of the design and name of the brand on the face of the watch leaving an awful mark that looks like it was buffed off. The watch is ruined. I will never take anything to Butterfiend Jewelers again.

These guys did a "fundraiser" for the state bar where one person is supposed to win a real diamond, only none of the "diamonds" were real. They set up the thing with no controls then blamed the state bar for supposedly losing the "real" diamond, who had to refund everyone's money. Don't use them for any fundraiser stuff. Buyer beware with these guys generally. Make sure you're getting the real diamond you paid for - not a cheap CZ.

I worked with Melissa to create a custom wedding band after shopping at all of the chains failed and after being ignored by the staff at another local store. Melissa was so open to everything I was picturing and treated me like I was her most important client. I was on a very short time crunch to get my ring here before my wedding and she made it happen! She was open to my opinions and edits and I came out with a wedding band that my fiancé and I adore and that I'll be proud to wear forever!!

Charlatans! With blatant lies, they tried to rip us off for $400. We took a pocket watch in for regulation. They told us the process required them to open 'er up to take a look and that they would give us a quote. After two weeks we still hadn't heard a word back. When I called them, they told me that the watch was completely rusted inside and needed to be rebuilt. That it would take two months and cost around $400! We decided to bring it home and look for ourselves. My handy boyfriend clicked off the back and crystal, revealing a pristine inside. After a few YouTube videos we figured out how to regulate the watch. This shop is not to be trusted.

My ex-husband left a Rolex watch which I wanted to sell. I brought the watch to Butterfield's and wastold the bracelet was small, and there wasn't any way to ordermore links from Rolex. Also, it had to be sent to the Rolex factoryto check out the serial number. I was also told it would cost approx. $1K toget it in shape to sell it. I asked one of the salesmen totry the watch on. It fit but he said it was tight,.Looked fine to me. Bottom line, Butterfield's offered me $1K -$1,200. for the watch. I took the samewatch to Beauchamp on Friday when a rep from AntiquesRoadshow was at the jewelry shop. The rep looked at it andsaid, "Nice watch." He went in back to removethe back of the watch and check the serial number. He returned and told me he'd buy it for$2,500. I said, "Deal" and the jewelry store issued a checkto me in the amount of $2,500.00. Iinteresting, huh?

Dropped off my omega for a new battery. Got it back within a few days cleaned and shining like new. Fee was reasonable for a high end watch. Very pleased with their service.
