We stopped here after a leisurely afternoon strolling through the antiques stores in the area... clutch call! Busy Bee has six or seven custard flavors (unusual for a custard store) and all three of us opted for their waffle cones (available in chocolate or vanilla), which is THE option. Those cones are the best part of the experience, which is high praise because the custard is yummy too. I got mint chip (with a chocolate waffle cone), my husband got butter pecan (chocolate cone) and my son got strawberry (vanilla cone) and we polished every drop off. Man, those cones will haunt my dreams... crispy, buttery, chocolatey, just the best. The custard was thick, creamy and rich. The perfect way to cap off a Saturday afternoon. The space was homey and finished off with a handcrafted wood border that elevated the space... really enjoyed admiring the craftsmanship while we were eating. There's also a selfie station and music to round out the mood. While we were eating, an employee from the cafe next door came over to order a shake which looked DELICIOUS. I only say this because about 2 minutes after he returned, one of the cafe patrons popped over to order one of the same shakes... they were as impressed as we were! They also make handcrafted custard pies and custard "sandwiches" with a flat round waffle on either side. My husband immediately said he wanted those sandwiches for his birthday. We are converts!

I absolutely love this "ice cream" shop. I put ice cream in quotes because they don't actually serve ice cream, but frozen custard. They have an information card that explains the difference clearly. But point is, that it's a sweet treat and a healthier alternative to ice cream:)Anyways, this is such a cute establishment in the heart of the North Valley on Fourth Street. Going during the holidays, it had beautiful decor for Christmas. The owner was such a beautiful soul. She was so kind and shared that she loved owning an ice cream shop and wouldn't change anything about it. She makes pies for $20- $30. I was very interested in placing an order for a biscochito pie but I forgot to place my order before Christmas. Will be back!! And excited to visit the restaurant next door :)

Was in the area and saw the giant ice cream inflatable outside and knew I had to stop! I was cheerfully and warmly greeted by the owner, Kay. I was impressed to learn of the flavor profiles and the yummy special occasion pies and other treats available here. I will definitely keep them in mind for special occasions or just because days. The location is cozy and inviting in fact we stayed and enjoyed our treat inside while getting to know Kay. I had the chocolate and my grand daughter had the cookies & cream flavored frozen custard. Soooo delicious!

If you want a creamy flavorful custard, stop by the Busy Bee!We just wanted to get a sweet treat after the movies and we found Busy Bee. It's a small local custard shop on 4th. It's cozy and clean. Simple and great!I had the turtle sundae with butter toffee and chocolate frozen custard. My hubby had a cone with butter toffee and strawberry. And my son had a frozen lemonade as well as some butter toffee and strawberry in a cup. All were creamy and full of flavor. Enjoy!

I was in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque and had some time to spend in the area. I decided to check out some places for some snacks/sweets and was glad I found and chose to stop by Busy Bee Frozen Custard! It's been forever since I last had Frozen Custard (vs ice cream!).I love that Busy Bee is a local shop (grown from original food truck business!). The shop is cozy and homey and very casual. The price point of the ice cream was great and you can choose a few toppings/variations of how you'd like your custard. I also appreciated that the staff was nice and friendly!Overall, I had a wonderful time. It was so nice and quiet..and just peaceful. I hope to stop by again. I wished that they had more solid snacks than just frozen goodies though!

I had seen Busy Bee several places before (Celtic fest, food truck events). But, this shop in Los Ranchos is relatively new. Parking is easy and there's plenty of seating out front. When walking up the sidewalk, you are greeted by the sweet smell of waffle cones being made. While not normally open on Monday's, they were open yesterday for Memorial Day. I had seen a Facebook special offering 10% off the Nutella cone for military and veterans. Most everything is made in house, except for the hot fudge sauce. There's broken pieces of waffle cone that you can snack on at the table. A 2-scoop cone cost $7 and there's also fresh eggs for sale. Based on the Facebook post, I was expecting the waffle cone to come with little chocolate chips and marshmallows, but it was Nutella custard with a chocolate cone. The Nutella flavor wasn't overpowering. The shop owner came to sit with us for awhile and told us her story of how she got into the custard business. She was friendly and offered us a military discount anytime we returned. And supposedly, custard is a lot healthier than ice cream is. 2024 #26

I brought my grandson for a refreshing treat on a hot day. He ordered a dirt and worm sundae. The girl helping us was super friendly and fast getting this treat out. My grandson was super excited to dig in and said "it was super tasty." He loved the color changing spoons. I got a refreshing lavender green tea. It was not overly sweet and you could definitely taste the lavender but it was not overpowering the tea. It was refreshing on this hot day. We will be back to taste some of the other treats they have.

This one was a food truck at the freedom celebration located at ballon fiesta. Prices were reasonable for the most part. Portions were decently in prices. Service was slow but because there were several people due to the event so it was reasonable the wait compared to other food trucks that were there. Staff is for the most part was friendly.

I've been here twice now and both times loved the custard I chose! I got the butter pecan the first time and cookies and cream in a chocolate waffle cone the second. So creamy and delicious! Service was excellent and staff was very personable and kind. The space feels like an ice cream shop you'd find in a small town which I love. We will definitely be back!
