The food here was incredible! We got the arroz con pollo, lapiz sandwich as well as the choco flan and cookie butter cake. Absolutely would come back again The outdoor seating area was perfect for a Sunday afternoon lunch.

This place makes me want to go to Costa Rica immediately!Seriously the food is just SO incredibly flavorful and fresh and the presentation is just so beautiful.I tried the Ropa Vieja bowl ($15.95) and all the components were served warm and were just so yummy and delicious. It came with a generous portion of beans and shredded beef next to a heaping pile of warm rice. They're also came a fresh salad on the side as well as two sweet plantain pieces.I could literally eat here every day if I could! The staff seem so genuinely cheery and happy and the interior is decorated in a very lush way. Plenty of outdoor seating as well.

Came in today for lunch. The restaurant is beautiful and is on the smaller end. If the restaurant is full, you will likely need to sit outside, but even in the cold this restaurant is a great type of food I haven't seen much in Albuquerque. As a Cuban-American the food here was very reminiscent of food I grew up with with the same names, with a bit different of a taste. I absolutely love and make Ropa Veija, Arroz con Pollo, and love a good flan. The food, amazing. Go, get it before this place gets packed. The Ropa Vieja and Arroz Con Pollo are very good and very flavorful. The fried plantains were amazing and the coconut flan was a nice endcap to an amazing meal. The only thing I should have done was ask for salt since it wasn't at the table.Service was quick a and good and the owner was very nice. checking on us. I can see this place being a regular stop for us or getting takeout from. If you haven't had food like this, I defiantly would recommend you go and get a sample of these amazing eats!

Fantastic spot along Historic Route 66. Cozy interior with plenty of outdoor space. Easy to navigate menu, wonderful staff, and just awesome food. I had the burrito, which was layered with beans, sweet plantains, rice, and egg, and not too spicy salsa. Loved this spot, and excited to hear they'll be adding chilaquiles to the menu!

This is a really nice little spot located at El Vado. My favorite things are the yuca fries with good flavorful and creamy dipping sauces, and the vegetarian empanadas . The rice and beans are filling and simple comfort food, good with the hot sauce. I got a passionfruit agua fresca that was also very good. They have multiple vegan tamales, which is great because most places have none that are even vegetarian. Sadly, there's something about them I just don't like. This is a great place for vegetarians, vegans, and people who eat gluten free.I like that there's indoor seating now! The patio area is also good, and expansive.I just wish I knew when they're open, as I've had bad luck multiple times going to El Vado and finding everything closed.

Everything that our party of 5 had to eat Saturday afternoon was outstanding. Out of this world carnitas nachos, nest tamales service ever and berry bunt cake. Ive been to Costa Rica and this food was so far superior. It's located a cool part of ABQ. Live in Santa Fe and cant wait to return. Did I mention that we are big foodies!

Holy moly! Shout out to Kattya on her James Beard Award nomination! This place recently expanded into a larger space and it was much needed. The vibe of the new cafe perfectly reflects all the love that is poured into their food! Try the chicharrones, they are an absolute must! They practically melt in your mouth . Their arroz con pollo also amazing! You can't miss when you order from here! Everything is amazing! Go check them out! Right now!

We love the food there! Buen Provecho is located in the stylish "El Vado" complex ( Hotel, shops, food). Located within walking distance from the Bio Park/ Aquarium) The food is fresh and tasty with a Latin American touch. You can get items such as Tamales, Enchiladas, Costa Rican meals and appetizers. They also specialize in desserts! And they have some vegan and vegetarian options! This is a casual good eats venue!Seating is outdoors! So plan on take out if you come during cold weather! There is a water feature for children to cool off in during the summer! When done eating, there are shops to peruse!

It more like 3.5 stars.- it's a cute little place with good ambience and good outdoor seating, friendly owner and people. The food was very flavorful but be ready to pay for what you eat. We ordered vegetarian(with peppers) and vegan tamales(with mushrooms) which was tasty but....The tamales had very little veges in them. Mostly polenta - infact too much of it due to which it tasted bland. We ordered 1 full meal with rice, beans, plantains and salsa, but the portions for beans and salsa as compared to rice was literally half that we had to order more sides to finish the rice. We don't like plantains in general but had to take them since they wouldn't substitute. Plantains were ok.Patacones were v good and could have more, but it is silly to order 1/2 order for $5 v/s full order for $6. We figured it out after we paid the bill. Most of the meal was served in plastic. Which was a turn-off for us.
