One red & one green tamale to establish balance & harmony in the world.
Two kinds of meat, two kinds of sauce. One kind of wonderful.
All wrapped up and nowhere to go, except to dinner of course.
A couple tamales peeled and a couple more patiently waiting. Both sauces are spicy & killer good!
Biscochitos
Fry bread taco
two bowls of soup on a table
a pile of tamales on a cutting board
a food truck on the beach

B's tamales are my gold standard for the historical NM tubular shaped, carne cored, maseca wrapped, "slap it in your face & get happy", burn your mouth down spicy tastiness 'til you think you done died and gone to Heaven, economical to the point of comical, mobile gustatorial fineness of the best kind. With Miss B parkin' her tamale truck on the corner of Paseo del Norte and Universe up on the west mesa most Saturday mornings, you've no excuse for not gettin' your fix of this New Mexico staple year round, not just for holidays, festivals, or gatherings of the fam.Go Red! Go Green! Go Christmas! It doesn't matter. Her tamales are the best trad version I've found anywhere up to this point & are the bar to beat in my world. Her sauces are the crown jewel -- both red & green bein' plenty flavorful and bringin' plenty of heat. The couple little plastic cups they provide for each tamal are enough and then some. Lips, tongue, and throat stinging with residual capsicum makes you feel alive like crazy and crazy like ain't no tomorrow comin'. It's the burn you learn to love. And you know you'll be back for more as soon as you recover. Ain't no antidote for B's tamales & that wild *** sauce. The tamales are dense, toothy, substantial, filling, and are, at the two-fifty-per, two-fer-five-bucks, four-fer-ten-bucks price point, danged cheap for the quality. Stock up on those bad boys & stack 'em deep. As a little guy & lite eater, one of those beasts flying solo, coupled with a salad or bit o' soup, makes a meal for me. A couple of them at once are justification for a shot of Pepto Bismol for dessert and a nap.I gotta give a special shout-out to the delightfully friendly young lady who mans the cash box, takes your order, and trots the hot stuff out to your car after the magic happens inside the food truck. She's such a nice bright way to start your day.Now I think Miss B has other foodstuffs besides those devilishly good tamales. Maybe green chile stew or other classic NM dishes. But I just can't get over or get past her tamales. They're that good. So hustle on up to the westside to rustle on up some mighty spicy & tasty grub from Miss B for minimal lightening of your wallet while stuffin' up your tum. And keep your nap spot primed.

We've been coming to B's food truck since they pulled up to Paseo and Universe about two years ago and the food is consistently amazing. So thankful they chose to set up on the corner near our house!! Green and red chile are awesome here - both are spicy but not so overwhelmingly hot it ruins your meal. The fry bread tacos are mainly what we keep returning for. The fry bread is slightly crisp on the outside, chewy on the outside and has a great flavor - never greasy. Good ratio of ground beef to beans to chile so you can get a little of each in every bite. Biscochitos are light, slightly anise flavored, and generously covered in cinnamon sugar. This two to three bite cookie is the perfect appetizer and dessert for your meal from B's. Enchiladas, tamales, and posole are also great here, the only item we haven't tried yet is the frito pie because the fry bread tacos are so good we always get them! On my most recent visit there was also red chile powder and pods for sale. Tip: Call in your order ahead at 505-410-0999, usually our food is ready in 15.
