It took me about eight months to find just the right studio here in Albuquerque, and I am thankful to have Body Language now.First, the customer service is superior. I enjoy the app for my phone as well as the computer interface for setting up the classes I want ahead of time. I like the way the wait list works when there is a class that is full, and the alerts I receive. Similarly, if need to cancel a class it is seamless, and understandably needs to be a 2 hour notice. Booking ahead is one of the best benefits of their service. The quality of the instructors is the best aspect of the gym. They are attentive to technique and form individually, and are caring in class and beyond. I like the breadth of classes, each with their own flair, and the uniqueness of each class and instructor allows me to achieve the results I have looked for all along. I particularly enjoy Sarah, Anna, Monica, Carrie and Jillian although this doesn't diminish my respect or caring for the other high quality instructors that teach there. The location is excellent, parking simple, and the facilities well maintained. All in all, I am very pleased and can recommend them highly

This studio is really awesome! I've only attended barre classes and they are great! Amazing toning and core work to good music in a friendly and clean environment. They also have really great childcare and my kids have a great time. The owner is kind, laid back, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend!

My friend Lauren had mentioned joining her for barre more times than I can count so I finally joined her after our school semester was over. It was a nice, neat studio located off Wyoming and San Antonio. The class was only half full which was nice (make reservations online). The instructor gave good feedback for improving posture, alignment, and getting max benefit from each exercise. I've gotta tell you-- the class was HARD. We used bands, balls, weights, your own body weight- you name it. Music was playing to distract from the burning fire inside each of my muscles which helped. The teacher was entertaining and talked on her headset microphone throughout which also helped. I was sore for literally days after. The only change I would recommend was suggesting modifications for the newer (*out of shape*) folks but I could tell her style was definitely a push yourself, get to know yourself, you're strong, you can do it kind of energy which is also appropriate, and needed. Looking forward to going back but only when I can schedule a few days for recovery :)

I was really looking forward to trying this place, as I was in the market for a new place to take workout classes. So, my friend and I decided to take advantage of the first free class session. We were both planning to sign up for the monthly unlimited pass if we decided we enjoyed the place. Well, I've got to be honest, we were pretty let down. I'll start with the good:The communication from this place was great. They were really awesome about bumping us up from the wait list and adding us to the class we really wanted to attend. They also had some good input and info about the classes and what would be a good fit for our level. However, that wasn't the case in person. I feel like the one thing places like this need to realize is that not all clients are regulars and not all of us are health nuts that are coming in with tons of experience. For some, going to classes like this is kind of nerve wracking experience especially at a new place. We didn't feel super welcomed by anyone when we arrived initially. We were awkwardly standing around in the wrong room for a good 10 minutes before we had to go up and ask someone for help on where to go. The only available girl working was too busy trying to sell supplements, when she could have easily just chimed in and been like, "hey are you guys waiting for something?" It was super awkward standing there and then inevitably having to be like, "sorry to interrupt but we don't know where to go and don't want to be late." So that was weird. Now for the spin class. Our instructor was nice, but I felt like she really just wanted to give us the intro spiel and move along to chat with the more regular clients. Having never been to a spin class before, I had no clue what I was doing or what to expect. I'm more of yoga/Pilates goer, so spin was new but something I was interested in. My friend and I have a pretty significant height difference, yet both had issues with our bikes once the class started. The instructor did attempt to help us adjust the bikes before classes, but once we actually got started we were beyond uncomfortable on our bikes and it didn't seem like they were adjusted properly in the first place. We literally both had bruises on our bums afterward. I also assumed this was not an advanced class, as it was recommended to be a good start if you were beginner, but it felt much more advanced in the sense that a few people walked I halfway through the first workout and then started biking like it was the last leg of the Tour de France...the entire time. It was only distracting because they kept going crazy on their bikes while grunting aloud and doing weird things (the instructor even told them to pace a bit). That was a little off putting mostly because everyone else seemed about the same level and were just doing the workout as instructed (without necessarily being over the top and show offy about it). Obviously that's not the fault of the gym, but it just makes for an intimidating and really uncomfortable experience for some first timers, especially ones new to something like a spin class. The instructor did congratulate all the newcomers as a group at close of class, but again, it felt like part of a spiel, because at the end she went to chat with some of the regulars (I'm assuming, since it seemed as if she knew them) and didn't talk to us. We felt a bit overwhelmed and out of place and just wanted to go, so we gathered our belongings and left. Not sure I'd try this place again, honestly. I had some high hopes, but ultimately not a good enough experience to pay for classes here. Give it a shot, but I'd maybe recommend something other than spin, unless of course you have some experience with it.

Whether it's starting my day off at 6am with pilates, TRX, or barre or ending my day with an evening yoga, TRX, or barre class, this is the studio for me. Bodylanguage offers everything I need to help me feel better and stronger! Last night offered a special treat with a Sound Bath class led by Lauren. It was incredibly relaxing and exactly how I needed to end my hectic week. So many thanks to Monica and all the instructors for everything you all do!
