I've been going here for fine jewelry since 1974. It's the best place for authentic indigenous pieces.

Such a cool place! This is an architectural marvel! The whole building looks like a museum. It's a round design of prefabricated pieces that make a cylindrical museum, with a nave in the center for display pieces. Inside, it's a two story building, with a ring up top that looks down on the store below. They have a fantastic selection of different pieces of jewelry from different tribes, blankets, rugs, and pottery. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the wares, and just listening to them talk shop with the other customers and the other staff members is pretty impressive. Most of them have direct knowledge of the tribal wares, and the story behind them. The jewelry seems to be all authentic, and they take pride in knowing that these aren't knockoffs. Their pricing scheme leaves some to be desired- they price everything at astronomically high prices, then change the discount depending on how business is going. So when I went, it was 30% off everything, which made me have to do all this math. Reading through the reviews on Yelp, it seems that they sometimes go to 50% off if you keep an eye on the place. The selection is some of the best and most diverse you're going to find under one roof in NM, albeit at high prices. My favorite thing that they had here were the Indian rugs. Some nerdy weaver wove Star Wars designs into some of the rugs!In the parking lot, you'll find an authentic Indian horno, an outdoor oven used to make bread. Along there, there's a buffalo pen! Be sure to check out the Indian casino across Tramway if you have some spare time.

When I lived in ABQ 30 years ago, I used to come to Bien Mur occasionally to buy gifts for family and jewelry for myself. I went back last week for the first time since leaving New Mexico and it is still a wonderful place to go for jewelry, pottery, books, and so much more. The salespeople were all very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back next time.

My first review on a smoke shop-convenience store-gas station. Here I go... I love this place! It's a little out of the way for me, but I don't mind at all. Great prices! Friendly customer service and a nice variety of inventory in the store/shop. Did I cover everything? Not sure, but if I didn't I'll get it next time for sure! Oh yeah, easily accessible, right off I25 and across the street from my favorite casino!

I've driven past this place on my way to Santa Fe but never made a stop until yesterday. They were having a sale so most items were between 30-50% off but in particular reference to the Pendleton blankets, that's not much of a deal. I bought a small blanket for about $140 (around $100 after the discount) and on Pendleton's website that same blanket goes for about $90. I also got a large beach towel which was $80 (or $56 after the discount) and then I realized that I had purchased a similar towel somewhere else (same brand, different pattern) a few months ago for about $50. Despite the 30% markup, they have the largest selection of Pendleton blankets/towels I've seen in the area so it was still somewhat worth the stop. They have a wide assortment of other items as well, but basically jewelry and pottery downstairs and blankets and paintings upstairs.

High priced tourist trap is what this market amounts to. It is a neat round building with a field full of buffalo across from it, but when you get right down to it, it isn't a market, but a store. Everything in it was marked up 200%. Even the postcards. We found postcards much cheaper elsewhere. Painted pottery was all priced really high and so were the rugs that had sensors on them. I was really disappointed because I thought it was going to be an authentic market.

They do have cheaper cigarettes, I'll give them that. Sometimes when I open a sealed pack I find some kind of bug like a termite or maggot. There's is a pin hole in the side of the cigarette and the bug is at then top of the filter, very disgusting. I don't smoke that pack, I end up throwing it away. The employees attitudes are horrible. They suppose to be open 24/7, but I have went there numerous amount of times between 12 and 4 am and they're closed. They have a paper sign saying we are closed, like this morning at 2:00 am. I drive across town to come here and I have wasted so much gas. I come here in early a.m. because I work graveyard. The employees are doing something their not suppose to be doing.

My father went to get gas like he's done at this location for many years. He's old school and pays cash. He walks in and tells the girl at the register he wants $30 on pump #3. He goes back out to pump gas and it's not working. So he goes back in and tells her it's not working. She says you told me pump #5 (which he said he did not). So she's tells my father sorry but you have to go talk to the person pumping gas at pump #5. My father does and the person at pump #5 says sorry but i used my credit card on this pump. So he goes back in and tells this girl that and she says sorry but there is nothing she can do. He asks to speak to a manager or assistant manager and she tells him neither are available. BEWARE OF THIS GAS STATION
