I've stayed here a total of 4 nights now, since I paid for a 5-night stay, and I will tell you to go elsewhere. Mainly because of management and their lack of courtesy and care. When I first drove by, the signage by the road caught my attention, which said, "29.99 a room." When I parked and came inside, I stood in line behind a girl for about 5 minutes, until she finished paying at the glassed-off front desk. The Asian woman behind the counter asked what I wanted, so I told her that I'd like to have a room for the amount on the sign, and she said, "That's the week price." So, I agreed to the weekly price and she calculated my payment to $165 dollars or so, which would make it a 5-night stay plus tax. She then, took my credit card, swiped it for payment on her machine, and then carbon copied it as well, with a scanner copy of my driver's license as well, and stapled them together. She had a hard time speaking English and I could not understand what she said, but I figured she was mentioning breakfast, because she said 7 to 10, so I asked what she said and she said, "okay, next!" which ended our conversation. Once I got upstairs and headed to my room, there were clothes, baskets, and totes all over the 2nd floor and a family was moving out, so I shuffled around them. The guy was talking on the phone, loudly, about room rates at other motels. I just nodded at him and made my presence known. In the room, the beds were nicely made and the room looked quite clean, except the bathroom, which was missing tiles near the bathtub floor, and the particle-boards were exposed. All in all, the room looked pretty clean and I was quite surprised, because the motel was located in the most ghetto part of town, which the locals call, "The War Zone." The reason why they call it the War Zone, is because there is always some sort of crime going on, nearby, like prostitution, burglary, and other things. So, the first night wasn't so bad, as I slept well through the night. But, after waking up with itchy bites on my arm and leg, I started to feel worried about the room. So, I started looking at the floor and the bed, just being paranoid about what could have bitten me in the night. Later that following night, my friend came over to watch TV with me and said, "...there's a bug on the floor; it came out of the restroom." My eyes enlarged the most it has been, because I don't like bugs. I saw a bug by the microwave and shrugged it off, because I could expect it anywhere. After a few nights of heavy arm and leg scratching, I switched to the other bed in the room, which hadn't been slept on and tried to sleep. Around 4am, I woke up scratching harder and lied on the bed in the dark, just thinking about what could possibly be crawling on me and biting me. So, I turned the light on and scanned the sheets, nothing. I rolled over and saw a small brown bug crawl from between the sheets and watched it crawl down the head of the mattress between the head board and disappear below. Bedbugs! I couldn't sleep, thinking about them crawling in my luggage, my bags, my clothes, on my skin and in my hair. I quickly went to the front desk, and the night clerk wasn't there. He was patrolling the area and when he came back, ignored me and walked inside, and when he got behind the glass window-ed off desk, he asked what I wanted. So, I told him that there were bedbugs in my room and I didn't know what to do. "Um.. I don't know what to do. Can you come back in 3 hours, at 7am, when my manager comes in. We may have to change your room, until the exterminator comes in." I told him, that I didn't know where to sleep, and he said that it would be easier to just stick it out in the room and wait for the manager to come in, because it would be harder to get another room. (by the way, there were plenty of empty rooms, i could have slept in, but he didn't offer any). Once, I got back to the room, I scanned the floor and moved my food and snacks off the room table, and ended up sleeping on the table because I didn't want to sleep in the bed anymore. Morning came, and I eyed the microwave clock, 7:10am, I walked downstairs and met the manager, he said, "There are no bedbugs." He then told the night clerk to check the room with me, and the night clerk walked with me back to the room, (who said he didn't know what to do the night earlier) he shined his flashlight on the bedding and said, I don't see anything. Minutes later, the manager came into the room and pulled the sheets off, shining his mobile phone's flash camera on the bed to see and looked behind the mattress and on the floor. He said, "I don't see any bugs here, are you sure you're bitten?" I pulled my shirt up, showing him the bites on my arms and lower back. The night clerk said "Those don't look like bed bug bites, they would be smaller, they look like spider bites." I've been bitten by spiders, and these aren't spider bites. "I don't see any bugs in here," said the manager and left. Avoid!!
