Barranca Cafe

Pleasantly surprised! Food was inexpensive and delicious! Service was very kind and nice. Came here for dinner since we were staying at hotel and when I walked into this place it looked like a 70s cafeteria. I thought to myself, this is going to suck. We got a table in one corner of the restaurant and looked at the menu. Our sever came over and was just the nicest and sweetest person. She was super patient and gave us a couple of recommendations. We ordered a bunch of entree to share. The food came out relatively fast. Huge portions. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the food. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious!! The green chile burger, so authentic, so flavorful, meat was cooked to perfection not overcooked still juicy. The chile relleno was also super bomb, I was practically inhaling the dish. Even the side seasonal veggies were tasty. The prime rib dip was wonderful, the bun was fluffy and soft, very fresh and the meat was flavored and cooked well. I was completely surprised by how good the food tasted!!Prices were sooo inexpensive and food so delicious. Our server was sooo nice and attentive. Highly recommend!!! Don't let the look of the restaurant fool you, you will love the food here!

So much better than I expected. It's a little cafe that's inside the casino. We were staying at the hotel in this complex and came in for a quick dinner. The service was great, and the food was surprisingly good. I love the enchiladas, super flavorful, and juicy. The chile Orient was also wonderful. They breaded the outside and filled the inside with cheese. The burger was AMAZING, super juicy, and very flavorful. I was so surprised by the caliber of food here. Service was great, the night we were there, there were only 2/3 tables with people and 1 server, but she was very kind and food came out quite fast. Overall, great place, would certainly come back if I find myself here again.

The service is not acceptable. They get you seated then forget about you. The only reason I gave two stars is the food was ok. Notice I say ok not much flavor. I would rather go to McDonald's.

Rarely open during their scheduled business hours Sometimes it is hit or miss, the food will be overcooked, or you will get a small helping.

Stopped for breakfast. We were the only patrons in the room but the service was spot on. Hubby has the Huevos Rancheros and I had the breakfast burrito. Both came out fast and were delicious. The red and green chile were tasty. And the plates were over flowing. I will not have to eat the rest of the day. And they didn't include the dreaded lettuce and tomato plate toppings. Yep a pet peeve it just takes away from the delicious chile juices. So one can just scrape the plate clean.

Stopped at this empty cafe today,but I was impressed with the special they served which was smoked brisket. It was tender and tasty.It was served with very large tasty fries and cole slaw.......

We stop at the barranca cafe on Sunday for breakfast and it took 1 hour to get are food Service was very slow for the amount of people The food was pretty darn good ,do compliments to the chef

The waitress was very nice, the building is very outdated. The food was terrible. It's sad to think that if a person from out of town would stop here thinking they're getting an authentic NM meal because it's far from authentic. If you're looking for a great Tewa taco, don't get one here. The "red" chile looked and tasted like something you would get from a can. The fried bread, possibly Pillsbury dough and canned beans! The "Spanish" rice was bland. My stomach is a mess. Never again!
