10/14/21: So.....I've been going to those gyms where you pay $39.99 and up. When I found out that I am a Senior and it only costs $20 for the entire year???? Sign me up and that's what I did!Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Very clean facility and restrooms. When I arrived the building was alive with many mature people. The cheapest breakfast in town can be found here. (pic with prices included). Funny moment: It got quiet when I walked in because I look young so I can see people questioning my age . Yes, I'm over 50+ and you'll see me in here very, very often so yall better be ready to have some fun when up I'm there! The 50+ Sports and Fitness Program includes weight training classes; aerobic, Yoga, Tai Chi classes; adapted aquatics; an outdoor recreation program; a walking program, the Albuquerque 50+ Games and much more. Ready to begin this exciting adventure and gonna have fun. Y'all better be ready!

#21 of 2019*NM DONUT KWEEN ADVENTURES*Barelas Community Center/Barelas Park (yelp changed the information so ill add a seperate listing for the park itself) are just a hop, skip & a jump away from downtown abq. Its a nice walk from there to tingley beach. On a beautiful spring day walking through the community center/ park can bring a bit of an adventure walking through the grass, looking at the painted mural on the community center wall and walking out through the courts. You never know what adventure awaits you. There are a few tables on the east side of the building. A perfect spot to stop & enjoy a snack. The playground is big enough to entertain the tots without boring them. There are fun local spots near the barelas park such as The Rio Grande Zoo and the Tingley Park across the street that has fun summer baseball games. There is a summer recreation program at the community center for the kiddos so its a good idea to call early to sign up.Here is a bit of Barelas history: Did you know that The Barelas Community Center is one of the oldest community centers in Albuquerque built in '41-'42 per cabq.govIts awesome to learn a bit of Burque history!!
