They got to start a social media marketing campaign, it is a local family own business everybody love that kind of story. Their beef jerky is really testy, crispy, rich in flavor, just the best jerky every and around. one of the worker over there (jasmine g.) has such big green bright eyes, curly dark hair, it is just the pretties girl I've ever seen (just a prove that the family is doing something right). She should be the model, and face of the brand. wonder if she is single...

I've been buying Jerky at this place for over 40 years. All there Jerky is so flavorful and tasty. I usually buy the plain, peppered, green chili, red chili. The Red and Green Chili are usually med spicy but sooo good!! I have to pace myself or I could eat the whole bag in 1 sitting. Its just that good. I do prefer the 1 lb bag of what they refer to as chips (sold locally) versus the regular 1/2 lb Jerky they sell online. Both are good but I like the extra fat on my jerky when I hike, bike, or camp out. Either way you can't go wrong.

They sell two items here.....beef jerky and frozen green chiles. It's mostly a wholsale place but they will sell to the public. They sell 3 types of beef jerky....plain but salted, green chile and red chile. $9 for a 7 oz packet. The name brand of the jerky is Bar X Brand. The green chile jerky consists of beef, chopped green chile, salt and garlic. This jerky is more like beef chips than jerky. They dry the jerky so much that it crunches in your mouth. Maybe some people like their jerky that way...but I am used to the tough as leather type where you have to chew your teeth off after eating a pack. Personally I do not like jerky this dry. You can just about make beef powder from this jerky.UPDATE 12/13/2007After going through about 2 oz of this jerky, I personally found it to be ....AWFUL. I can't recommend this jerky unless you like crunchy cardboard. This jerky is so dessicated that all the flavors left with the water. The only taste left is the salt, garlic and hotness of the chile.

OK, After several months I have bought over 500$ worth of this beef jerky. It is the best in the world. The totality of ingredients? beef, Salt. That is it. If you like real beef flavor and not artificial added flavor this is the best.

We were sent here on a mission to find and bring back what i was told the BEST beef jerky every! She was right...It is really thin and full of flavor, lots and lots of flavor. I love the thin part of the beef jerky, i wear braces right now and its easy on my braces. I am hooked. Now when we travel to Albuquerque, we stop by and buy for us and our friends. Its a really small store and the two pictures you see that someone else posted, pretty much covers it, lol4 stars is for the availability, need it on the web or convenience stores, maybe?Make sure you try J&D Foods beef jerky, you won't be sorry :)

I have been a jerky fan since I was four years old and there is no other that even competes with Bar X. This is the "Original Carne Seca" that you read about in history books. It doesn't matter where your from, it comes down to meat and a touch of salt. I prefer the red and green chili that was perfected by the Godmother of New Mexico Carne Seca, Jane. With the guidance from her mom, Debi was a visionary who put Bar X on the map. Due to her untimely death, Debi (La Reina) continues to inspire her son Alex as he works with his grandma Jane to introduce the next generation to "Nature's Snack". I highly recommend Bar X and look forward to my next order.Sincerely, James Quintana

My review concerns the carne seca (beef jerky) sold at J & D. Having lived in New Mexico for 21 years, I grew up eating this type of jerky. This stuff is great! Our family would also use it in soups (caldo), with vegetables, especially pinto beans. It adds so much flavor to your food.It is crunchy, and that's what I like about it. Sams Club sells it as well and we always stock up when we are in town.

This is a great place to buy fresh freeze dried Sandia green grown in the Hatch area of New Mexico. Jane and her daughter Debbie are two beautiful New Mexican natives, who do a good job of taking care of the clients needs. Whenever we are in New Mexicoour last stop is to go visit them and fill our cooler for our return trip to California. We have tried their green chile, red chile and all three styles of jerky and highly recommend all of their products. Peter & Noel Lujan 925-837-8649
