Badlands Jerkey

Badlands jerky in Rio Rancho has hands down the best selection of jerky in NM!! So many delicious flavors I like the Sweet n Spicy Teriyaki Habanero the best!Go next door for a cafe by the same owner and have an early breakfast or lunch!!

My husband took me to Badlands in Rio Rancho to have a sandwich and let me tell you it was the best sandwich I have every had! It was FRESH and delicious! I also enjoyed the Garlic Jerky it has minced garlic not garlic powder. I will definitely be back to try the Posole and the other sandwich's. Barbra & Carmen are very welcoming and pleasant.

I've driven past this place for months and wondered about it. But it is life in the time of the virus. Anyway, I stopped in today and I'm very happy that I did. While browsing I mentioned that I try to limit my salt intake (and yes, I am in a jerky place). The owner was able to suggest her lemon pepper flavor. I gave it a try and loved it! Now I can eat jerky without guilt.I should add that you can make special flavor requests.

Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch and to sample some jerky. The bistro and jerky store are side by side but do not share space and it's kind of confusing. We were seated and ordered a couple of Cubanos. The sandwiches were good and the staff friendly. Overall the atmosphere was cute, but just don't make sense. It could have used some signage and information about the concept. Why were there 10 people sitting here and no one was sampling jerky? There was no jerky in the bistro for sale or on display. If they're separate entities, it would be better if that was explained. If they are the same business, they are missing opportunities all over the place to push jerky sales! It was painful to watch. We left without trying any jerky when we had fully planned to buy some. I hope they can figure out their business model because they make good food and they are very nice people.
