I must have come on an off day or a picked over day. Didn't find much. Everything was well organized. Worth a stop though. With resale shops you have to go more than once. As I was coming in, a woman had like 12-14 vhs that she said were free. She had a smile from ear to ear. So, you never know what you will find.

Lomas avenue, between Washington and San Mateo, is quickly becoming Thrift Store Row, Jr. My mind's compass can locate at least four shops on this stretch and they all vie to thumb wrestle with the standards on Menaul. Bargainbox is certainly unique, and perhaps one of the very best in the city if you know what you're seeking. Here's my take on why you should go.As a fellow Yelper mentioned, there are "no overt religious undertones" which is a biggie for me. Thrifting is Christ's work, Buddha's work, the work of the Great Spirit, you name it, sharing is caring, yo. The employees (I doubt they receive a sixpence for their energies) are Midwestern kind. And the place just beams with pride. The back area is all about carefully preserved and loved crap, like housewares and paintings and plates and lamps and, well, all of that stuff George Carlin warned us about. Everything on these shelves works, they're solid pieces, something I can't state about the competition. But most of the store is devoted to clothing, and most of that is for the female persuasion. I did glance it all over, and I thought the offerings were solid: conservative, smart, really high quality or reconditioned. The square footage is limited, so don't come for furniture. I'll be back again and again, and perhaps again, because I've learned to really love bargain hunting and these guys know how to scavenge.

This place is just pure awesome. It is well organized and fully stocked with good finds for cheap steals! There is a lot of 80's items on the racks but you can stumble upon finds like cool adidas jackets, winter sweaters (christmas) good jeans and work pants... I came here on halloween to pick up some last minute complete the outfit items, and it was totally worth it and cheaper then savers. I ended up coming again the next day to score some more items. plaid shoes ($4) UNC navy blue vest ($2) new snow shoes ($8) (its getting cold soon) and some travel books for about 50cents each! The ladies that work here are great! Very friendly and help you out with things. I suggest you head down there and support!

One of the better thrift stores in town. Reasonable prices, and decent crap to rifle through. A clean bright shopping experience with friendly and helpful staff. There are also no overt religious undertones.
