One of three courts

Bump, set, spike! It's volleyball time. This is the place to be. Every coach we have worked with so far has been amazing. If you would like to start your kiddo early, you can get them into their skills classes. These classes build the foundation and skills to help your child become a great player. The atmosphere is very positive and welcoming. The owners have worked very hard to establish one of the top volleyball clubs in New Mexico. They have girls playing on many of the high school teams around Albuquerque. I love that they have kids as young as kindergarten out there learning the sport of volleyball. They have a variety of age groups for teams. Tryouts will be in October. They also offer camps, private lessons and so much more. Friday nights they even have adult play. There is a little bit of volleyball for everyone. If you have an aspiring volleyball player come check them out.

This is the most unprofessional volleyball club in Albuquerque by far. Your kiddo is just a number. Everything is money based and the amount you can pay $2500 and your daughter makes the regional or national team. The kiddos that make the "academy" aren't coached because you don't pay enough money which is $550. When the administration is questioned about money and why the "academy" girls aren't progressing in skills they drop your daughter from the team. Still waiting on the prorated check they promised me. I would never recommend this club. We went to the Warriors!!!!!

****UPDATE: Michelle T's review bothered me so bad because it's so untrue that I looked into it. Turns out she WAS asked to leave, but not for the reason she stated. She was irritated that ARVC was still allowing one of their coaches to coach WHILE SHE WAS PREGNANT. So yes, SHE was refunded and asked to leave and rightfully so. Take your bias somewhere else. I hope you don't behave at Warrior this way, they are a good club and deserve better from their parents AS DOES ARVC..*****My daughter has been with ARVC for three sessions now. She has progressed from the lowest level academy team with zero experience her first year, to mid-high level academy team her second year, and thanks to the AMAZING coaching she received from Coach Ju and her team last session, she just earned a spot on 14u Regional 1. I strongly disagree with one of the other comments that it's all about money. Our experience with coaching her first year was not great however, the rest of the staff was AMAZING and took my feedback well. The coaches were reorganized, with the less experienced coaches being paired with the most experienced for mentoring, and the least experienced kiddos getting more experienced coaches. The second session was FANTASTIC. The lowest level academy team last session was 10 times better than the prior session and it was due to coaching. They also have a great team in place to assist you in different fundraising opportunities to help pay for volleyball expenses so I absolutely disagree wholeheartedly that this club is only about the money. Anyone who says their kid is just a number and the coaches and staff don't care probably didn't address their concerns with the staff and if they did, maybe they were disrespectful in doing so. I've personally seen Senobia and Barb deal with INCREDIBLY difficult parents and their composure is irreproachable. This club is a family and I am so thankful my daughter was chosen to continue with ARVC at a travel team level so we didn't have to try out for another club. My daughter CONSTANTLY has a volleyball in her hands and is ALWAYS practicing, so whether or not your child progresses is also dependent on how serious THEY are about it and how much effort and extra time outside of ARVC THEY dedicate to the sport. And oh by the way, 98 girls tried out for four travel teams; only 40-44 girls made a team. If they REALLY wanted to take advantage of kids and parents with volleyball hopes and dreams, they would add more National and Regional teams and take your $2500 even if your athlete wasn't travel team material just to make you feel better. Also, NO ONE is "cut" from the academy. Period. You can leave and ask for a refund and they are very accommodating at prorating a refund even though they don't have to be. This group of professionals is outstanding. I know this is a little long, but I feel very strongly about the people at this club and am being a little defensive about the slanderous comment.

This place is expensive. However the the price you pay I would expect more effort from the coaches. they seem to only help the really needy players or the really good players. They just have the ok players play back and forth while they pick out the ones they want to work with.

This volleyball club is pricey, but aren't they all? I've actually been impressed with the coaches and communication from the office staff is pretty good. The website has a lot of information on it and it can be intimidating and confusing, but I think they are working on this. I like that they offer fund raising opportunities. I think we all need support our youth athletes whenever possible, especially due to the cut funding in sports in our schools. They do accept payment plans. You can also have friends and family sponsor your player, and in exchange, they can claim their contribution on their taxes because ARVC is a non-profit organization. Tryouts are necessary in order for them to place your player on the appropriate team. Their website should have additional information on tryout dates. Not everyone makes the team. But I assure you that if your player continues through the term, you will see huge improvements. This club does have National teams as well, which can be very expensive. Plus you travel to other states and you'll be expected to pay for your travel. The tuition usually includes the players uniform, practice shirt, shorts and sometimes other items such as knee pads, a backpack, pants, jacket, and shoes. I've talked to other parents who have used other clubs and the one advantage that ARVC has is that they have more courts for the kids to practice on than other courts, which means they have smaller classes and more individualized coaching.

If you want your child to stop loving the sport and have their mental and emotional health messed with this is the place to go. This club is all about the wins and about the teams making it to Nationals. Sure that's good but not when it's at the cost of a kids dream. So yes what Michelle T wrote is absolutely true. You are just another paycheck to them. The coaches will only play their favorite players. When you address the problem and why not all players are getting playing time they pawn it off on the kid and say it's because they aren't putting in the work at practice or they guarantee practice time not playing time.So the kid then thinks they are the issue and aren't working hard enough so they start to put twice as much effort in at each practice but the coache's will still not pay attention to them and only focus on the favorite players. This starts taking a toll on the kid and they start to hate playing or going to practice. You reach out to the coache's and club directors again and you get the same lame excuse as before except this time with "they should be happy to just be on the team and support their teammates". When you've sat there watching each practice and saw how this kid put twice as much effort and heart into thing than the favorites. Also I think any parent would be upset with these words because if we wanted our kids to be chearleaders we would of put them in a cheer squad not volleyball. The fact that you pay the same as any other parent should guarantee play time as well. Maybe not the same playing time as the favorite players but at least some. These clubs are meant to prepare these kids for the possibility of playing in college. If you didn't think a kid was good enough to play on the court in a tournament why offer them the spot on the team?

At this club you're just another number. All they care about is winning. Their "who we are" on their website is just a way to lure you in and make you think they care about your child when what they really care about is making money.
