To the people dissuaded by the guy who felt his wife spent too much and claims she wasn't happy with it, just don't listen to that guy. I've only gone to Armando's since moving to ABQ two and a half years ago. I went to the other location before it closed and now I go to this one. Ariana did my first cut and color here at the very end of her internship. She's so awesome. Anna gave me prob the best haircut I've ever had; it's been two and a half months and it's still super sharp and clean. Loving the miracle that is perfectly applied toner, too.

"I had a terrible experience at this salon. I came in with clear instructions for my hair color, but they completely ignored my request and gave me the opposite of what I wanted. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, instead of trying to fix the issue, the staff ganged up on me and insisted it was exactly what I had asked for--which it absolutely wasn't.Not only was the color completely wrong, but their dismissive and unprofessional attitude made the experience even worse. I left feeling unheard and deeply disappointed. If you're considering this salon, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you want your hair ruined and your concerns disregarded."

The first time I went to this salon for a hair color, the stylist missed all the hair around my face. At the time, I went ahead and scheduled another appt. 5 weeks in advance. After noticing all the missed hair, I thought I'd just keep the appt. and give them another chance- the day of the next appt. they had written a different time than the appt. card they gave me, and said I had to reschedule! I did not.

I had not been to this salon before. I made an appointment for a haircut and was assigned to Emily. I wanted 6 inches cut off, and long layers so I could scrunch my naturally wavy hair into beach waves. When I left my hair was wet and seemed alright. Paid the hefty $55 and a small tip because I have learned to not fully tip until I know my stylist well and know he/she has done a good job. After being home awhile working in the garage, my neighbor asked me if I had cut my own hair. I went into the bathroom, looked in the mirror, and was stunned. No layers, the sides were cut like wedges that stuck out eight inches from the sides of my face. Picture the Dutch Boy meets Bozo the Clown. Emily's grade for my haircut: F.I called Armando's. NO REFUNDS, but Jill would fix it. Jill cut my hair again, now it is shorter than I wanted, but she put in long layers. She also texturized, which you should never do on fine hair like mine. I appreciate her efforts but... Jill's grade for my Haircut: C+. When I asked Emily to return my tip, I was told that would never happen. These ladies may be able to cut one kind of hair, but definitely do not know how to cut naturally wavy hair. They also don't look at someone's face shape or the overall shape of the hair. The only good thing about this is that my hair will grow and I will be able to go to a stylist who has knowledge, skill, and experience.

I hadn't gotten my hair cut in like two years and came here hoping to get my hair healthy again with some drastic changes. Emily cut my hair and she did such a great job - she communicated with me throughout the process about what exactly I wanted and she was just super easy to talk to. Armando's Salon ensured I was comfortable the whole time and I love my new hair!!

Probably one of the best hair salons I've ever been to! I come here nearly every time I need anything done from a simple trim to completely changing my hair color. Everyone here makes you feel welcome!

Services were not a good value for the money. My husband and I went to Armando's Salon for the first time for a root touch up color for me and a cut for my husband. We live in their neighborhood and were hoping to find a salon we could go to regularly. At the outset, the stylist needed assistance from one of the other stylists to determine which color to use, despite me providing my prior salon's formula. I was handed a mirror and that's when I noticed sections of grey around my face not covered with color. The stylist made the excuse there must have been Vaseline in those areas (which she applied) and made no attempt to fix it until I asked her to add more color. I left the salon with dye in my hair so rather than getting on with my day I had to return home to rinse out the color and restyle my hair. Additionally, I noticed my color was not completely rinsed out of the back of my hair and neck when I got home. There was considerable dye left on the lower back of my hair line near my neck.My husband's cut was very quick. They asked my opinion, and I mentioned the cut didn't look even. The stylist made no attempt to assess her work or correct the unevenness. I fixed the uneven areas of his cut when we got home.We were charged $51 for his cut. We phoned in after we left and asked what was included in the $51 price and we were told a shampoo and styling. My husband was offered none of these things. The salon has a base price for color at $68 and a men's cut at $38. We were charged $100 for my color and $51 for his cut. The person on the phone made a myriad of excuses, stating that "Oh, you have to ask to have your hair washed or styled for the men's cut".It seems that their rating system was completely misapplied, per the website, our stylist is rated at a Level 3. At this Level our stylist not only needed assistance from another stylist, but both of our services were subpar and she failed to perform services that were supposed to be included in the published price. There's a saying if you receive great service you're likely to tell 3 people and if it's bad service you're likely to tell 20 people. I'm meeting with my Andalucía neighborhood women's group in a couple of weeks, and I'll be sharing my experience.

WORST salon experience of my life. I took a chance as a new resident to find a salon. Not only was the service bad from start to finish but the response to my complaint was highly unprofessional. The "level 3" stylist spent less than 25 minutes on foils for a full highlight. I warned her of my very fine, hard to brush hair. I recommended a deep condition, detangler, oil, and even offered to brush it out myself. She spent 30 seconds on a conditioner, then proceeded to rip through my hair for 20 minutes. After "trying" to dry my hair enough to cut it, she took 5-6 cuts at the back of my hair and quit!! Didnt even touch the front or finish drying. there was more hair in her comb than she actually cut. I looked in the mirror with frizzed, damaged hair, skunky chunks of blonde at the sides of my face and a clear as day color line in the middle of my head where the foils stopped. My bill was $222 dollars before tip! $56 dollars for her to take 5 swipes with the scissors!! I was appalled. Later I called in to speak with management. I was told that I had 3 days to come in for a complementary adjustment. NO apology, no flexibility (I was leaving town for vacation). Please think twice before patronizing this salon. I feel ripped off and angry about spending even more to have it fixed by a professional.

Just got a haircut from Emily -- it was lovely!! She listened to what I wanted and asked permission to mix in her own ideas and it came out great. My friend had Faith cut her hair and it is also beautiful!
