Amrak Chimney Sweeping

I just purchased a home in Rio and wanted to make sure my chimney and dryer vents were clean. The tech, I believe Kevin, was amazing!! Did a full inspection, gave us way more info then expected and was extremely clean and thorough!!! He was so kind and friendly!! He recommended a few things to be fixed. After I called the owner later to have some things fixed he advised me it would be easy and way cheaper for me to do it myself - and actually gave me pricing examples!!! I thought that was AWESOME!! I will use them every year for my cleanings!!!

I called and got the voice mail and left a message. He called the following day and explained that he's really busy. That being said, he was booked out over a week and I set the appointment. That day came and went without a phone call anything. Was looking forward to meeting him. Dean

This review is somewhat overdue as I had Amrak come out to look at a chimney/fireplace of an old home from 1940s that I bought right around this past winter began. Prior to Amrak's visit, my partner and I tried to light a fireplace to try to keep ourselves warm, but it seemed the smoke quickly filled our home. Based on an inspection before I closed on the home transaction, I knew the fireplace was a question mark area, which the previous homeowners mentioned they never used it before. Well, looking back, how could they even use it if the smoke just filled the whole house after lighting up the fireplace, right?I reached out to Amrak telling him what I knew...but wasn't really able to give them much details because I never lived in the home..and had no idea what/if there were any problems. Amrak was able to send someone out to help take a look at my fireplace and chimney, listen to my problems and discovered that in fact the fireplace was working..but someone had put a screen down the chimney (not sure for what reason, which caused the smoke to not able to get out!The gentleman took the time to help me get the screen out and tada...my fireplace was working again! The guy Amrak sent (Sorry I forgot his name already) was polite..he helped educate me on how to use the gas fireplace, the pilot light, etc. He also helped clean up the fireplace and rearrange the fireplace area so it looked nice and cosy when lit up!Overall, it took less than an hour for him to trouble should, resolve and be done with cleaning! Super efficient..and extremely reasonable price, too! I believe it was around $100-$200..so so reasonable for someone who had no idea how to use actual gas fireplace before!Thank you Amrak! I'm a fan and will definitely use your service again!

Do a fine job with sweeping chimneys but the staff are really incompetent. I asked if they could install a fireplace insert, gave them all the measurements and specs, sent them the brochure and installation manual. She said yes, gave me a quote and scheduled me for 6 weeks later. During that time I contacted them a few times to confirm - "Oh yes, we're all set to go", she said. Today is the day. The installer calls 5 minutes before the install time, he has no idea how to install the fireplace insert, he blamed the owner and got nasty with me. The owner called later and apologized profusely, saying "we don't even install fireplace inserts. You should never have been scheduled?" So 6 weeks later we are still without a fireplace. Bad business. Do Not Recommend.

We contracted Amrak to inspect & clean/sweep our 2 chimneys, and fix a problem with the damper in one of them. We're 100% happy with their service and value. When I called, Chris (the owner) booked our service appointment just a few days out, and gave a to-the-penny price quote in advance over the phone.Richard, our technician, was not only on time, he was about 10 minutes early! He was professional, fast, pleasant, and explained everything he'd be doing. Our 2nd fireplace apparently had never been used, which we didn't know (we bought the house 5 years ago and have never used it ourselves). Thus its chimney didn't need to be cleaned, and we weren't charged anything for it. Richard was done in exactly one hour, and left everything cleaner than when he arrived. :)That 2nd fireplace has been drafty since we bought the house - part of the reason we've never used it - and we thought it needed the damper repaired. Upon inspecting, Richard said it's because the existing damper didn't fit correctly, and gave us a quote for a new top damper. It took a couple of weeks for the part to come in, and Richard came out today to install it. Once again he did a great, fast, professional job (and was early!) No more drafty chimney!I highly recommend Amrak Chimney Sweeping for cleaning/sweeping, inspecting, repair, and/or parts replacement. They are top-notch, with fast service at a very reasonable price.

I have recently moved to Albuquerque and purchased a home. I had them come out and inspect/clean two fireplaces in my new home. Richard was a pleasure to work with. He was very professional and friendly. And when he suggested something he noted from his inspection, he let me know the cheaper alternative if I did it myself. However, the price for him to do it instead was very reasonable.

I contacted Amrak to give me a second opinion on a chimney repair proposal submitted by another company. I wasn't sure if it was legitimate so I called Chris and he immediately offered to come by to take a look and give us his opinion. He was very responsive and arrived promptly at our scheduled meeting. He inspected our chimney and the proposal by the other company and weighed in. His professional experience and advice was very helpful for us in making our decision to go ahead with the repairs. The best part was he did not charge me for his time and expertise. I even pulled out my checkbook fully expecting to pay him at least for his time, but he refused and asked me to write a review for him, which tells me that he cares more about offering good service than in making a quick buck. These guys are great and I will call them again for my next chimney cleaning, for sure. And you should, too!

I am so glad I took a chance on Amrak, as I was 100% pleased and plan to use them regularly now. They were pleasant on the phone when scheduling. Andre texted me at the appointment time to let me know he was running late and would arrive in 15 minutes, and 15 minutes later he showed up. He was calm and friendly, worked efficiently, and made no mess. He discussed everything with me after he was done and patiently answered all my questions. And the price was the lowest of the three companies I contacted. He cleaned both my chimney and dryer vent.

Due to a miscommunication, no one showed up the first day I scheduled. Chris was hugely apologetic and came the next day and did an excellent job. He also gave me a discount due to the trouble. I recommend Amrak highly.

Excellent service! They we're flexible with my schedule. The technician was courteous, polite, efficient and answered all my questions. I am very happy with their work.
