3/2023: PRO: Great prices. Hit up the "Back Door "area for deeper discounts.CON: Found what I needed or wanted but no salesperson approached. I was ready to buy a sofa, loveseat and headboard but because I couldn't even find anyone to help, I left the store. I even went to the area where you would pay for purchases, and again, no one was there! Quite interesting.....

This review is from sometime in Dec 2020. I want to say Dec 27th, but not 100% sure.Okay, so we had to cancel a sofa we ordered at Ashley in June 2020. My wife looked at American Furniture's website and saw a sofa that was similar to one we cancelled, so we headed over.We were asked if we needed help, as we looked around, and we told them that we were looking for a sofa that we saw online, and the person directed us to the sofa. It was a nice sofa and did come close to our other 2 pieces, so we decided to order it and get it delivered.As we were paying for the sofa, we were told that there was at least 2 other couples that came from Ashley, after cancelling their orders. We asked if the sofa was in stock and was told yes. Deliver date confirmed. We paid and left the store. Everything took maybe 30-45 mins, that included us looking around.A week later...lo and behold, we have our new sofa.

What the heck happened to this place??? I've purchased from this store for years. Last year I purchased an electric recliner and the salesman encouraged me to get the warranty and specifically said it would cover any issues with the cushions. After 5 months the recliner began to sink and sag. I called the store and they directed me to the warranty company who said it was wear and tear. After numerous calls to the store and no one returning my calls, I listed a complaint on the BBB website. I got a call within a day and was offered an exchange. They wouldn't refund the warranty but gave me free delivery on another item. I've gone into the store numerous times since and getting a salesperson to help is hit and miss - but mostly miss. I usually have to try to find someone, wave my hands and say, "Hey, can you help us with a purchase?" I made a purchase three weeks ago and I had to track down a salesperson and ask for help. With Covid, a lot of the stores are out of stock. Yesterday I checked online with their instant messaging system and was given a list of in-stock dressers, one of which I need immediately for an elderly family member. I went into the store today and a young man approached me and I told him I needed something right away. He told me to look around and then I didn't see him til I ran into him in the clearance section. He walked with me through and then walked away as I was talking to him. I never saw him again. Meanwhile one saleswoman was on her phone in the mirror taking selfies or sitting in the corner talking on her phone. There were a few customers in the store and I couldn't find anyone. I didn't see anyone being helped. With Covid going on and American Warehouse having items in stock, they could be doing a lot of business if they had a competent sales staff. The apathy here is highly apparent. It's like the place has given up. You used to go into the store and someone would approach you right away. If you needed something they would assist you the entire time. Now it's just pathetic.

The place has been around for a long time. It was one of those places my folks liked shopping at when I was a kid. I went in looking for a new living room chair. I walked around for a while and during the time I was there no one came up to talk to me and see how they could help. I looked around and the sales people were around talking in groups and basically ignoring the customers. While the quality of the furniture is good I am not sure the service makes it worth the slightly higher price.

Love this place. Thought I had issues with the bed/bed frame I had delivered but it turns out, no issues. Gary that I talked to when I went back to all about it was very helpful and followed up on everything like he said he would. I ended up buying a dresser from him as well. I'm sure I'll be spending more money in here.

Service was good. As soon as I started seriously considering a purchase, someone came up and asked if they could help. They even let me know the furniture I wanted also came in a deep blue, which I jumped at as white would be harder to keep clean. I was told up front, that I might be waiting for the furniture for some time due to the furniture not being available in ABQ right now. I expected the delivery to be some six weeks away. Well, lo and behold, it got to me in just over two weeks. I was given helpful paperwork and even a direct number to call if I needed anything. So far, the furniture is holding up very well, and I am quite pleased with my purchase about 5 months out. Is some of the tech older than what many sales people use? Yes, but it's not like they really needed anything different than what they currently have. I mean, for goodness sakes, they are an outlet and clearance center. The guy that worked with us was very pleasant and treated us respectfully from start to finish. I have no complaints.

American Home located at 801 Comanche RD NE, Albuquerque NM 87107This place is a JOKE! Their customer service, expertise and Delivery is Non-Existent. BEWARE: Sales team will tell you anything and promise you the world to make a sale. When it's time to actually deliver on their promise, they fall short.Due to Covid, our delivery was delayed. We understood and were completely ok with this delay. Two months after our order was placed we started to feel pressure from our sales rep to have our order delivered. The order was to be a couch, a love seat with a USB charging station, a recliner, and four battery packs. We were told that only the love seat and recliner have arrived and that they didn't know when the couch would be delivered. So they offered us the floor model.When we asked for a discount to the floor model we were given 5%. Not even enough to cover the tax. None-the-less, we scheduled delivery. At this point it has been two months since we placed the original order. Two days before our order was delivered, our sales rep called and said that one of the batteries that operates the couch was going to be sent to another order. After two months of being strung along with multiple phone calls we asked to speak to management.Management gave us a completely different story as to why one of the battery packs was not going to be included in our scheduled delivery. However, if we agreed to keep our deliver date they would wave the delivery fee and get us a battery pack as soon as one arrived.On the day of the delivery we were told by the team that our order was short not one, but two battery packs. In addition to this news we were also told that the only new piece of furniture was the recliner. And the news kept getting better after this. We were also told that the love seat's USB charging station needed to be plugged directly to the wall, apparently the battery pack does not provide enough power for the charging station. An important fact that our sales rep should have shared with us.At this point we had had it. We asked the delivery team to contact a manager for us. Once a manager was on the phone they completely ignored our frustration and tried to talk us into "borrowing" the furniture until new furniture arrived. To this we asked them to remove their furniture from our home and cancel the order.An hour later the general manager called us offering to give us a $300 discount as long as we were willing to "borrow" the used furniture. We expressed our fear of being stuck with used furniture and our disappointment at being lied to over and over again.To this we were told that they can not guarantee when we would get new furniture. We stuck with our decision to not keep any of the used furniture out of fear of being stuck with it. This entire experience has been a nightmare. We have been more than understanding and patient with American Home. When we expressed, once again, our frustration we were told that they have a four star rating. In other words, "Who cares how you feel or what we have put you through."I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.Don't fall victim to their high pressure sales tactics.
