Had these guys come out to do an estimate on our house. They want $750 for a basic design. Nope. What a crappy business model.

They were able to take our tiny kitchen and cluttered laundry room and turn them into gorgeous, modern and spacious rooms. The initial $750 was for detailed, yet flexible, architectural plans that we were able to modify as remodeling progressed. That initial cost was simply rolled into the final price.The best part is the way they do business: before they start, they set a Schedule of construction matched to a Schedule of payment. As the work got done, the payments got made. We were so happy with the work as it progressed, that we added and changed several things as we went. We simply did a change order payment for that work. Their Pay as you Go model makes sure that the work gets done and they get paid. No surprises.Their construction crews are people they regularly use. The licenses (and references) checked out. The guys came on time, worked the whole time and cleaned up each day before they left. Any problems, questions or concerns, I would simply call Mark and it got fixed that day or the next. Marjorie (the architect) consistently came up with clever and innovative ways to use our available space as construction went. Nearly every day either Mark or Marjorie came by to check on the work.As the work progressed, we had 4 neighbors and friends ask us for their contact information. Moving support walls, rerouting electrical, plumbing, sewers, pouring concrete, tile. cabinets, Granite counter tops, they got it all done on time and with the quoted cost.
