Alvarado Roofing

After two other roofing companies tried and failed to repair an area on our roof near our chimney, we had to go looking for another company. The prior roofers thought just continuing to slap tar on the area was the solution which never actually fixed the problem. We called Alvarado for a quote. They were professional and showed up on time and once they inspected the area, they pinpointed exactly what the issue was (which had never been mentioned by the other two companies) and explained to us how it would need to be fixed. They showed us pictures of everything, followed up shortly with a written estimate, and scheduling. We had to wait a bit for the repairs to happen (about a month) but so far, so good. On the day of repair they showed up when they said they would and even though the crew was different than the estimators, they knew exactly what to do. With previous companies we had to go through everything all over again with each person so it was a bit of an adventure. With Alvarado, they had sketches of what needed to be done and the crew was able to get to work immediately. This also seems small but another testament that they take the work seriously is they were all in safety gear- vests, hard hats, etc. which none of the other companies were. When they completed the job (a few hours later), they again showed pictures of everything and seemed to do a good job cleaning up the area they were in. Nearly every single roofer seems to have terrible reviews and we held off for a long time from being let down again by yet another but I'm glad that we found them. It was a bummer that we had to pay a 3rd company to get the job done right but I'm much more confident that this one will hold. If there are any follow up issues, I will be sure to update my review.

I had an older roof redone last week and I am very happy with Alvarado. I had an old and cracked bitumen roof and got quotes from a couple of companies to replace it. They came in significantly lower than my other quote at Territorial Roofing. David came to do the quote and was very responsive with the multiple questions I had. The crew came early in the morning and applied the tar and gravel in one day (I didn't have to have anything removed). So far it has held up to the one rainstorm we have had this year. I will definitely recommend them to others.

I had my roof replaced a few weeks ago. Everything went smoothly and I was impressed by the customer service I received. I got an estimate within a day of my initial call. I ended up choosing Alvarado after comparing a couple of other estimates. Once I called to accept their bid I was emailed a choice of shingles. I wanted to see them in person, so someone dropped off samples later that day. Once I had chosen a color, I was able to schedule the re-roofing within a week. It was completed all in one day. The roofers arrived early, about 6:15 and went to work. My dogs weren't thrilled and especially didn't like the singing, but I was happy that the employees were cheerful. They also repaired some rott in the soffit and facia that I was going to repair with my dad, but was priced so reasonably that it made no sense to do it ourselves. An inspector came the next day, and I received the invoice after that. I was emailed and snail mailed a proof of payment immediately. A couple weeks later, I also received a "thanks for your business" note along with a Starbucks giftcard. I felt like that is a personal touch that many businesses don't bother with these days. Over the last week we have had several downpours and I haven't had any issues with the roof, plus it looks great! Clean up was good, they laid plastic around the perimeter of the house and took all their trash. They also brought an outhouse so no need to let strangers in to use my restroom. I have found a couple of nails that were missed in the back yard but overall I feel like the cleanup was adequate.

After a hail storm totaled our flat roof, we reached out to several roofers around town to get estimates for replacement. Alvarado responded promptly and Chris provided us with a clear explanation of our options and a discussion of which roof would work best for us. He also worked with the State Farm claims adjusters to make sure we got the roof we needed. We were also pleased with the professional communication from Chelsea in the office to get our replacement roof scheduled. When the crew showed up to replace the roof, they did an outstanding job of installation and cleanup. We could not be happier with the project from start to finish. We give them our highest recommendation.

We hired Alvarado to do a complete reroof on a rental that we own. A few months later we found extensive black mold growing in a little used closet. The cause was an uncaulked canale near the closet, causing water to leak into the walls. Inspection and repair of canales was specified in our contract and we paid for that. Alvarado refused to honor the contract or fix the problem. They said canales are not part of a reroof. We ended up paying over $3000 to remediate the mold, rebuild the closet and caulk the canale. Alvarado refused to pay anything towards the problem and ignored our calls and letters. We decided not to sue them, knowing that that would cost us more money. The mold remediation specialist said Alvarado is ok if they do the work right but they are terrible when they screw up.

We recently had our roof redone by Alvarado Roofing and we couldn't have asked for a better experience from the very beginning to the very end of the process. From the beginning Chris was a dream to work with. He was extremely patient answering all of my many questions promptly and honestly. Scheduling was also very simple working with Chelsea. She was also very responsive and flexible each time I contacted her. The best part of the project was when the crew showed up every day promptly when they stated they would be there and worked diligently in the heat every single day until the job was complete. They would let us know when they arrived each day and they would let us know when they were leaving after cleaning up every little thing. You could never tell that they had been there each day and that was wonderful. The best part of the entire project was the beautiful roof that we now have. Definitely happy that we did our research and made the choice to go with Alvarado Roofing!

We contacted Alvarado about a partial roof replacement, they provided a reasonably-priced and detailed quote. Initial estimate for their availability was almost 6 months out. They contacted us a couple of weeks later and said they could perform the work within a month. We indicated to them via phone that we would be able to pay approximately half the repair cost up front, but that it would take several months for us to pay the balance. After that conversation, they called a few days later to say that they were available to perform the roof replacement in one week. We were pleased, and indicated once again that we had money on hand to cover half the cost, with the remainder to be paid in full in about 5 months. David at Alvarado told me (and I quote), "We'll work with you on that." I signed the estimate and they performed the work, which required an inspection from the city. The city inspector came and went, and I heard no indication that the work performed was not up to code. I emailed David to thank him and his crew for the work done in an excellent and timely manner, and to remind him of our verbal agreement for half now, half by 8/31/19. I received an email the next day in response saying that we had only 84 days to pay the balance in full, or incur a "late fee" in excess of $1000 (on an invoice totaling under $6000) and a lien on my home "to protect their interests". David breached his verbal contract to "work with us" on the balance of the invoice to threaten us with additional fees and legal action, fully aware of the conditions we had discussed with him for repayment before work began. The invoice for the work contained only information about interest accrual on any outstanding balance, and aside from the emails sent by David we have neither seen nor signed any document that outlines the terms David insisted upon after the work was done. This behavior is utterly unprofessional, and I will never make the mistake of hiring a contractor through a verbal agreement again.

On time and very quick. They redid my whole roof including replacing 4 skylights in one day. They even gave me a military discount. They followed up to see if there were any problems . They have my business for life

Alvarado Roofing replaced our flat roof with TPO and the entire experience was very stress-free and went smoothly. All the employees we encountered were very professional and patient with our questions. Phone calls and emails were returned quickly and the work was done according to the agreed schedule. This home improvement project was like a dream...phone calls returned and work done according to the contract. We would highly recommend Alvarado Roofing.
