Clock Tower in downtown Albuquerque.
Very nice condos & Century Theater across the street from the Clock Tower.

Having one location to catch the train or bus is convenient in Albuquerque. Recently the city opened a police substation in the building so security is better than in the past. As a downtown location it is a busy site.

A very beautiful Spanish mission style clock tower is located at the Rail Runner Transit Station in Albuquerque, N.M. This clock is part of the Mission Revival-style architecture used and designed to be reminiscent of the Alvarado Hotel, a railroad hotel which once existed at this site and was demolished in 1970.According to the transit center Wikipedia page, "The complex was built as a hub for Albuquerque's regional transit system and as a replacement for Albuquerque's previous bus depot and train station." The clock tower is located on the northwest corner of the complex, facing the intersection of Central Avenue and First Street, overlooking downtown Albuquerque. Generally, a clock tower is a tower specifically built with one or more (often four) clock faces. Clock towers can either be freestanding or as part of a church or municipal building. This Transit Center Clock Tower is a great addition to downtown Albuquerque & it's incorporation of old Spanish elements of historical architectural design ties it into the look and feel of old Albuquerque. 5 YELP STARS for the Albuquerque Clock Tower.

There is a real lack of clocks in this main location. Clock outside on unrelated building at 1st and Gold (NW corner) is always wrong, always (many years it has been useless; I wonder how many tourists depend on it???). Clock (even if it is working) on Transit building tower cannot be seen from where one waits for most of the buses. There are clocks above or just behind driver in the buses, but windows are difficult to see through and one has to wait to see the ribbon with the date, time float by (if it is on). With the bus service being so dependent on riders getting there on time, it is odd that there are no clocks to be seen outside of the waiting room. Also, waiting outside for the buses, one can freeze if weather is cold... also, there are too few seats to relax on while waiting, and people smoke under the no-smoking signs.
