I had purchased a couch from a local furniture store. It was out of stock. When it came in, it sat for more than a week at this moving company warehouse. Then after several calls, I determined it was there and made arrangements for a delivery day and time. The day came and the time frame had passed. I called several times, and they had me speak to the delivery driver. He said he would be there in 20 minutes, but showed up an hour and 41 minutes later. We opened up my double front door and the 3 guys bought both pieces of the sectional sofa in. In doing so, they punched a hole and ripped the under fabric on the bottom of one piece. They dropped it then in place 15 feet inside the front door. They were getting ready to leave and I asked if they were going to set it up. They took off the plastic covering and started to leave again. I said, what about putting on the feet that were in another plastic bag. They tilted the sofa and started to put them on, over the protective cardboard corner pieces. I told them to take the cardboard off first. They did so. They started to leave. I said, you need to connect the two sections together. This need to be done by lifting one section and attaching it down into the receiving side. No work necessary. Just placing the two pieces to lock together. Ugh! I spoke with the delivery manager about the shoddy delivery and the damage. He said he would get back to me when the owner was back in town. Crickets! So much for the $150 delivery and set up job.

This place uses the "Allied" brand name. My parents just moved from NM to AZ. Not only did they take 14 hours to load their stuff, but they then lied about the type of truck that would deliver their items. When the truck showed up in AZ, it was a smaller truck, with only HALF their stuff. Then, my parents got the second half of their stuff 4 days later! They agreed and SIGNED for ONE delivery date, and that was not fulfilled. When my parents called, they basically said "shit happens". Don't use this company, the management is dishonest.

Wow...I didn't expect to be writing a 5 star review for a moving company. After reading horror story after horror story, I was fully prepared to have the movers show up weeks late, break all of my stuff and then unload some of my broken items a few weeks late(r). This was NOT the case with Albuquerque Moving & Storage / Allied. We have never used movers, but felt that given then size of our home and the distance of the move (NM to AZ) that it would be worth the money to hire professionals - totally worth it!Rubel and his crew came on time, loaded the truck carefully and efficiently and then Rubel (yes, the same guy drove the truck) and his Phoenix crew delivered on the scheduled date and time. I was concerned about many of the items that I couldn't box (lamps, bikes, artwork, etc.) and these were handled perfectly by the movers on the day of the load. At delivery, Rubel his crew and unloaded our entire home carefully and efficiently. I really cannot say enough good about this experience, it was so good that I might consider moving again :)

Generally satisfied, but it's hard to tell who deserves the credit.... Albuquerque Moving & Storage seems to work with both Allied and North American moving companies, which dole out the work to the actual crews. In our case: Ward Moving & Storage out of Phoenix did the actual moving under the North American name, even though our estimate was from Allied.Initially, we got three estimates from major moving companies. Dan Gillette from Allied came in most reasonably priced (even though it ended up being North American), was courteous, friendly, nonjudgmental, responsive to my calls/emails, and delivered wardrobe boxes for me to pack myself ahead of time. His quote turned out to be fairly accurate; our quote was adjusted upon payment based on actual weight, per guarantee, costing us $150 less than original bid. The heroes were the actual truck driver/mover and his crew/wife from Ward/North American. This couple is amazing! Too bad they're retiring, but they earned it. Excellent communication, very courteous, super hard-working, friendly, strong--can't say enough--amazing movers (especially for a couple)! Stuck to their delivery window. Called 2 days ahead of delivery. Kicked butt on delivery and was on their way to the beaches of Florida. The assistants they had locally on either side of the move from Albuquerque, NM to Charlotte, NC were not as motivated, strong, or courteous, but I don't think they have much choice about who is assigned to them. In fact, the locals were late, lazy, sexist, and/or spoke inappropriately, but it didn't spoil the overall experience. Actually, the local person that Albuquerque Moving & Storage sent to professionally pack our kitchen and fragiles the day before the move did a good job and had good supplies; nothing was broken or missing upon arrival. Unfortunately, I don't think the customer has much choice about who does their actual move, so I imagine every experience is quite different and I'm not sure how helpful this review is. Hope you have a good experience, too!

When I moved from out of state my furniture was moved to a warehouse, and Albuquerque M&S was hired to move the furniture from the warehouse to my new home. Somewhere along the line 5% of the load was lost. Albuquerque M&S showed up 4 hours late with only 2 men, both of whom were already exhausted. What should have been at most a 4 hour move ended up consuming 12 hours. I spent 8 of those hours helping with the moving. Without my help it would have taken more time. The folks who showed up to unload the truck were pretty good, but the front office had clearly grossly over-scheduled. The last hour or so some other men showed up to help when their previous job finished or it would have taken longer. I was very impressed with A M & S, but not in a good way.

I called asking for a move the for next week and was told that, "I'd be searching the yellow pages for movers for a move this quick". And guess what? I had about 3 movers lined up. Maybe try working harder to meet your customers demands and you wouldn't have such bad reviews. Put that in your "yellow pages" from 1990.

While the original "sale" of the move for our elderly parents went fairly smooth, what happened after that was completely unprofessional. The packaging and pickup was completed as promised, the window of delivery was provided and then that was the beginning of the end. We scheduled discharge dates to get the elders checked out of the hospital and to their new home at the end of that time scheduled delivery window. Several times while waiting to get notice of delivery we called the local Albuquerque Allied office asking for any updates- we had airline tickets to purchase and did not have furniture in the ABQ home any longer. At no time did we get any reply other than the expected window of delivery. At no time did anyone from Allied even bother to see if our shipment had been scheduled or had left the warehouse. As time marched on, we had no choice, we purchased airfare for the move and headed to the final destination. Again, nothing to go "home" to in Albuquerque and no idea when the goods would actually arrive. Had one of the family members not been persistent, it feels certain to say the crated items would still be sitting in a warehouse with no one bothering to check what was really going on. The owner of the company, and eventually everyone on their team quit taking calls or emails. One of the most completely unprofessional decisions we have witnessed from any type of business. While the items eventually arrived, the care and housing for those in need of 24/7 care, with a wheelchair in the mix proved to be more than just inconvenient. They got our money though- would not make a delivery until they were paid in full. Instead of offering better updates and details, someone sent a claim for to file for delivery being late. The $50 per day that is offered in the claim only adds insult to injury. That does not even cover meals, let alone the added expenses of housing and caring for elderly. If this site allowed zero stars- it would be appropriate. Find a company whose owners care about the customers and the overall experience. Find a company that can be honest if there are delays. Find a company that frequently confirms location and delivery and shares that information with its clients.

I had Albuquerque Moving and Storage Co deliver a stove to my house. The workers were very professional. The drivers were very safe driving through our street. My wife and I were very pleased with the service.

If I could give this "company" a less than zero rating, I definitely would. They were chosen by Home Depot (and I will address this choice with Home Depot) to deliver our refrigerator. I paid for delivery, install, and haul away of old refrigerator. Our property manager met the delivery people when they arrived. They then proceeded to tell our property manager they weren't allowed to be more than 150 feet from the truck so they had to leave the refrigerator on the sidewalk. When the property manager called to inform me, I asked to speak with the delivery people. The person (short of a man) was more than disrespectful, arrogant, and it turns out he lied and wanted to just be done to have a little "free time". So now delivery, no haul away, no install. When I called the company to inquire, they were less than helpful and the same arrogant attitude carried throughout. I you CHOOSE to use this company, you deserve the horrible service you will most definitely receive. I've never dealt with more nasty, arrogant, unhelpful people in my life.
