I went here as someone who is very overweight, out of shape, with a hip replacement. I was nervous as heck to workout anywhere because, lets face it, we don't want to be judged even if we are trying to better ourselves. As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed. Everyone was so kind and supportive. You go at your own pace and they encourage you non stop. Krav Maga is now my favorite and I look forward to the classes. Your first two classes are free.... So check it out at least! You wont regret it.

I have been on this crazy journey to find a good place to teach me to fight. ( I secretly have ambitions to be the next Holly Holmes :) What you get here is down and dirty and practical. From my very first class I got a workout and left with applicable skills, which is extremely hard to do! The first class I took was the Krav Maga. I was a little intimidated at first, being the only one in the class that didn't have some kind of belt, but the other students and Zane, the owner and instructor, made me feel really welcome. Just to be clear, what I am looking for is to be actually able to deploy moves, not just run through drills, and Zane gives you that right from the beginning. We worked on disarming a knife, two person attack, and kicking drills. The other class I have attended is the Women's Self Defense class. This is taught by Michelle, Zane's wife. I think every woman needs to take this class! We learned that pony tail grabs are a common attack point and how to disable someone that attacks in this manner. Repetition makes perfect but what I like is that after one class you have enough grip on the fundamentals that I feel like I could deploy some version of it. Great place!!

This place is great. My kids go here. We come and go as our schedule permits. There's no two year contract price that you enlist for. It's not one of those money hungry places that just let your kids move up in rank just because you paid $$. It's also not just a school for them to learn a couple routine moves to "perform" later. It's a place for you to actually learn how to protect yourself. They go slow for the kids but discipline is non negotiable. They're expected to behave and show respect at all times. There's no messing around. My children had trouble focusing before and now they can actually access a sticky situation and evaluate what course of action(s) to take next. It's a crazy world out there and we need them to know what to do. They also have adult classes for krav maga. I definitely benefited from that class. I also did a few Womens personal defense classes too. Great instructors!! Great sense of humor!

2.5 years with Zane and we still love the classes. It's a great environment, is free of the usual contracts and gimmicks associated with precious dojos I have been at, and has something for all skill levels, ages, and genders. Having tried more traditional arts, I was pleasantly surprised at how focused Krav Maga is on actually combat situations. Of course, the whole class is a great work out and fun enough for us to attend 3-5 classes per week.

Amazing! I will repeat, this dojo is AMAZING! If you are interested in KAV MAGA, self defense, FMA, Jiu Jitsu, or a great work out with fun people, AMMA has it covered. Zane is an amazing teacher with a plethora of experience. He teaches you skills that are practical to protect yourself in every day situations(Krav)... but also teaches sport centered techniques (JJ). Michelle is an excellent instructor-women's self defense class- she focuses on real life scenarios and gives you skills that are effective and easy to remember. The instructors are very hands on. They don't separate the classes by skill level or age etc... which is really nice. No previous martial arts experience required!!!!I have been with Zane and Michelle for 2+ years. I have fun every day at the dojo... learn a new skill, see some friends, get a great workout in, and blow off some steam after work (it's a really great stress reliever). I can't emphasize enough what a positive impact AMMA has made...
