Adobo Catering

I recently attended a special museum reception that was catered by Adobo Catering. Even though the theme was a bit unusual for a Scandinavian exhibition, Adobo really rose to the challenge serving a very delicious array of Scandinavian dishes. Exceptional smoked salmon on dark bread, savory Swedish meatballs, deliciously spiced shrimp, and lovely jam-filled cookies were just some of the delightful dishes offered. Their staff was friendly and attentive. Their bar service was also beautifully managed. I was really impressed with their quality and creativity.

Had a funky experience with Adobo. I called to request a quote for my summer wedding and had a detailed convo with one of the reps. I requested lots of specifics, got a great vibe, and waited two weeks. They had said they penned me into the schedule, so I wasn't worried. Finally, I heard back...with a generic email quote that reflected none of what I'd discussed on the phone. I wrote back, confused, and received a barrage of emails and calls in the middle of a busy workday. Ultimately, though, I was assured I'd get an updated, accurate quote, so no harm done. Until a few weeks later, when I received an abrupt email saying Adobo couldn't help me...they had overbooked, and my wedding was off the schedule. The whole back and forth, complete with the final turndown, left a bad taste and a lot of wasted time and energy. Needless to say, I won't contact again, though I've heard great things about the food. That kind of flaky communication isn't what any bride-to-be needs! May others have better luck than I.

Adobo Catering did a wonderful job with a client appreciation party. Lisa Sanderson is a pro! Food and bar. Went off without a hitch. Thank you Adobo!

I can't say enough good things about Adobo - the people, the food, the presentation - all 5 stars for sure!! I hired them to do an event (happened last night 6-22-16) and then in between the time I hired them, I went to two HUGE events and the food was soooo good I asked who the catered it - Adobo! So I kept changing my menu based off the food I ate at the other events. Theresa is the BEST!! She kept up with my changes and gave me everything I wanted even with my budget!! As I'm typing this I'm eating a few leftovers from last night - they are even better the next day!! Adobo is the BEST!! Don't even waste your time with anyone else!! Adobo is the best!! My husband and I hired Adobo to cater our wedding at our home in Santa Fe for 90 guests. It was PERFECT! We contacted Lisa about six months before the event. She got back to us right away and came over to meet us and see the house. She presented us with three different sample menus to start the process rolling -- but was always open to mixing and matching and incorporating any of our original ideas. We had never hosted such a large event in our home before, so we were a little nervous. Lisa was great calming our fears and letting us know how many people she thought our house could handle -- and happy to share recommendations on valet service, party rentals, florists and wedding cake bakeries, etc etc. It really felt like a one-stop-shop -- or like having a close friend in the wedding biz. She kept in touch as the date approached and kept costs all under control. In fact, we ended up spending less than we had originally budgeted! The final result was a perfect wedding beyond our wildest dreams! Thank you Adobo! We couldn't have done it without you!

I was planning a wedding in Santa Fe and Peter from Adobo catering was recommended. I'm not picky and basically left it up to him to decide the menu for a small wedding (some of which are vegetarian). He went over some ideas and said he was drawing a plan together and would get back to me with a quote. Never again did we ever hear from him and of course he didn't respond to messages either. Don't waste your time here.

Adobo catered a party for my husband's 80th birthday. From my initial contact to the aftermath of the party, Peter and his team were wonderful to work with. They worked with me beforehand to keep the repast within my budget, while still making sure everything was delicious and plentiful for our guests. The three people who worked the party were beyond professional, even mopping the kitchen floor before they left for home. The bartender made a lot of margaritas with a smile on his face. All in all, a memorable evening. Thank you, Adobo!

I recently used adobo for a Celebration of Life. Their food was excellent, their presence unobtrusive, and their service excellent. I would be happy to use them again.

Lisa and the team at Adobo did an incredible job catering my wedding! I am a food writer, and having worked at places like Bon Appetit magazine and gone to culinary school, I cared a lot about the food at our wedding and I knew our guest's expectations would be high. I wanted the food to be seasonal, local, impressive and delicious but not too fancy or overwrought. We asked a lot of them, and were really picky, and Adobo really delivered. Guests still talk about our amazing cheeseboard and the tomato caprese platters.

The surprise birthday party was at my home where the office is and I had to get the birthday person out, trusting that Adobo would take care of everything. They not only stepped up to the plate but hit a bases loaded home run!!They were wonderful, the food was delicious, and the party was great fun. They just did everything so well (including clean up and dividing what was left over). I signed on to Yelp just so I could write this review and sing their praises! You won't be disappointed if you use Adobo Catering.
