This is a wonderful park up in the northeast part of Albuquerque. There's no real dedicated parking spots for the park, but it seems everyone just parks around/along the park. What I like about this park is just that it's a park that people in this community actually use. There were people playing sports, walking, hanging out around a park and walking their pets. It also really did seem very safe and nice around the partk/area (which isn't the case at all parks). If you are around the area and have some time to kill, you can check out this spot. A loop around a park doesn't really take long. Even a rather slow walker like me did a loop in less than 30 minutes!

Nice NE Heights Park, enjoy playtime on the swings, watch a soccer game or cop-a-squat under one of many shade trees. There's are a few walking trails and it's definitely a pet-friendly park. Bring a picnic basket full of yummy food on a summery evening and enjoy relaxing while having a beautiful view of the Sandia mountains.

Great park with toooons of shady grassy areas. Perfect for laying out a picnic blanket and enjoying some fresh air-- still cool under the shade even on a hot day! Plenty of street parking. I've only been during the week, but it's very quiet and peaceful. One of my favorite parks in the area for a relaxing afternoon.

Clean park with nice shade trees. Play area is specifically designed for kids ages 2 to 5. Only downside is only partial shade over the playground so structures are hot.

Run for the hills or Sandia Grill for a burrito...LoL!!! I've been coming to the academy hills park to run since I was a tween! I enjoy running here because it's a pretty even running platform, the most hills you will do is if you're going up Harper or on the opposite side if you're going up Academy. You can park at the back of the parking lot at Hoffmantown church as I do and start off on Barstow and make your way around the track and go down Academy around the bend onto Wyoming and then back up Harper! It's simple, easy, and convenient if you don't want to go nowhere on a treadmill! Oh did I mention the shirtless hotties! I tried to get a snap for you all but I felt like such a creep after yelling out your topless your totally topless! If you want to bring your pup/s you can take the trails inside the Albuquerque Academy grounds which also will get you from point A, B, C, & D! Come up to the park at Hoffmantown when your done and sit on a bench over looking the valley and give thanks and meditate. Praise be to God!!

probably one of our favorite places to visit! the grass is always green and well kept and of course the big trees provide alot of shade in the hot summer. if you want a good place to visit with your dog this is it! lots of big grassy areas to run around and play fetch, and has some paved trails that loop around which are good for casual walking.

I have been walking or jogging with my dog (and usually with the same friends) in this park nearly every morning since moving to the area almost two years ago. It was one of the reasons we moved there. I have not been disappointed about the park for several reasons: very clean; friendly people; friendly dogs; great views both east and west; a great 1.1 mile trail along its perimeter; great trails in general; fine birds singing at the west end; easy access to the Albuquerque Academy trails; and beautiful trees,

Had a really good run around the loop.Parking was tough to figure out. We parked in the Whole foods parking lot, but thought the church parking lot would have been better.
