ABQ Transmission & Auto Repair helped me when my car broke down unexpectedly. Ben was more than happy to take my car in and find out what was wrong with it, he even checked in when my tow was taking too long and I had not arrived yet. He addressed the issue, was very informative and honest with pricing, and answered all my questions. What I thought to be a transmission issue was actually a crankshaft sensor, Ben saved me a lot of money with his thorough inspection and diagnosis. I got my car back running better than it has in a while and a new mechanic that I can count on for any future maintenance/repairs. This guys knows his stuff. Ben Delgado is the owner and all around great guy. We needed a tranny upgrade for a project car. We were not sure who to go to. Luckily I had heard that Ben was opening his own shop. He has many years of experience to bring to his new business. Not only does he do transmission work, but other mechanic repairs as well. His business is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. Call and set up an appointment if you love your vehicle and want it to be in the most capable hands.

I dropped my vehicle off to have work done. Ben was the gentleman that I've dealt with, don't know if he's the owner or what but he took off before bringing my vehicle into the his yard. Ben proceeded to call me later that afternoon stating that he could not find my keys. After multiple calls I decided to have a locksmith come open the vehicle to check for keys, no luck! Knowing the area this shop is located, I could not leave my vehicle in the street so I had to have a tow truck come deliver it to my house.Ben denied ever having the keys, but 2 days later he said he found them. Ben would not pay for the locksmith or tow because I did not leave my vehicle with him to be worked on. Can't trust a guy like that who won't take responsibility for his mistake. Do not bring your vehicle here.Update after business's reply:This comment should show potential customers that this man has poor customer service and quite frankly, a lack of character.Why would I let you drag my vehicle with a uhaul trailer, that I brought in for a locked center differential? So you can then scam me for a transmission or some other issue that was not present before. I'm not going to give you my business if you can't retain simple possession of the keys.If you were unaware sir, vehicles are also broken into and stolen in our city all of the time. Your failure to pull my vehicle into your yard before your errand also shows that you have poor business practices and a lack of concern for customer's property.Mistakes happen, but denial of accountability privately, then attempting to maintain a good appearance publicly is just sad. A simple apology instead of being upset that I'm taking my business elsewhere would have sufficed. Reimbursement for the issue the you caused would have been better but you wanted to get ugly, so this review is for everyone to see, that is on you, sir.

I called Ben out of the blue and asked him if he would change the CVT transmission on my 2015 Subaru Legacy 2.5i and he said yes. At first he gave a low estimate, but after he received the used transmission, he realized that it would take a little time, but he adjusted the bill. It was a little more than I thought it would be but it was worth it. There was also a problem with my left front wheel bearing, but he only charged me for the part. Right now it's as good as new. I want to thank Ben for everything. Also, I got the transmission from an online account that went thru Swizz.com. The guys were Eric and Ken that got in touch with me from [email protected]. My payment went to Fenix Parts. It worked out very well and I am pleased with the transmission. I had to pay for a 5 year parts and labor warranty, but it is worth every penny.

The owner of this shop, Ben Delgado is blatantly dishonest. He is slow in turnover, pushes you as a customer further and further behind his constant frequent return customers who are getting his faulty workmanship re-repaired. Has multiple customers returning trans mission work that they are completely dissatisfied with. He gossips about these same customers to me and others. He gossips about myself as a difficult self centered guy and nothing could be further than that lie from truth. His customers have written other online reports about his shady unprofessional practices. He cannot CC complete work in a timely manner. Always has excuses why your work isn't done. He did a radiator swap on my custom Porsche. Changed almost $1200 including $160 for a tow by his 'friend' for less than 1/8 of a mile because he had removed radiator on car and did not have room at his shop to keep my car there and had other jobs to do waiting for my customers radiator to be fabricated. The 2 month fabrication estimate on the car was beyond his and my control. He had the car 2 weeks prior to order of radiator sitting at his high vandalism parking lot and multiple times customer's cars get damaged. You cannot have a rational discussion with him. He overcharges 7 hrs at $105 per hour labor rate and no radiator takes that long to remove and reinstall. He charges 3x retail prices on radiator fluid and charged and additional $100 for materials and parts on a radiator that had all parts with it already.He's dishonest. Instills a feeling of mistrust. The number of customers bringing their cars back because of his workmanship is amazingly high in percentage. In short AVOID ABQ Transmissions at all costs. We was coming to Albuquerque from Texas for a family reunion when the transmission on our motor home went out. We called several shops only to find out most do not work on motor homes. When we called Ben he said he could help us. He gave us an estimate on the cost and options on upgrades. After Ben pulled out the damaged transmission he showed us what had happened to cause the transmission to go out. What I really liked was the amount of detail Ben went through too make sure everything was done correctly. We are now back home and the motor home did great.
