Abe's Cantina Y Cocina

Now this is a cool place. A small little old bar that holds so much charm to it. I think the owner is oddly a Steeler's fan. At least I noticed that on the wall. As well as a WWII vet and allegedly over a hundred years old. What an achievement! So this place has been around for a long freaking time. They have very fair prices for drinks. A wide selection of craft beer in cans and bottles. The kitchen area you have to order off in the other room. Had a breakfast burrito with bacon and as simple as it was, it was so freaking delicious. The only downside to the bar is that their hours are very odd and every time I've visited and been intrigued about checking out the joint they've either just closed or I came on the wrong day. Lucked out with coming on a weekday around noon. They also have beer and wine to purchase to go. Will definitely come back next time I'm in New Mexico.

Walked in the other day from down the road looking for a drink and something to eat. Didn't find anything to eat but found a great bar with some awesome company. The few folks in the bar were great and very pleasant to share a drink with. Abe himself came out and said hi to all of the patrons, he popped a root beer and hung out with us for a bit. I didn't make it next door for the breakfast burritos but I've been told they are top tier.

The customer seems not to be right. No side red chile. Only 8 oz bowl. 'She won't put in a side 1 oz cup. It's too hot.'. pfft

Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. My favorites are the chicken tacos and burritos (smothered with green). I am from Valdez NM, not CA.

Great stuff! Really capital breakfast burrito- I'm back in NYC and thinking about it. Great vibe too- big fan of Abe's and will return when I go back to the Taos area!

Food was delicious. I ordered the beef enchilada plate, came with beans and rice. Wife ordered a beef burrito.- it was big and heavy. Chip and salsa was very good. I suggest eating at their outside courtyard though the bar. I don't think people know it's out there. Dinning room is small. The bar has many local beers. Would have loved to try them all. Definitely worth trying.

Best menudo I have eaten n Taos. Both of my companions were very happy with their food. We will return.

Stumbled upon this little bar/grocery store/kitchen on the way to Ski Valley. It was an adequate breakfast, but if this is the best breakfast burrito in the county, that isn't saying much. I don't get it. Did we come on an off-day?The ladies behind the counter were friendly, and the breakfast was quick and adequate. We figured it was our last chance to get some grub before having to pay high prices for something on the mountain. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon and avocado, my boyfriend got a burrito bowl, and our friends got the breakfast burrito and a tamale with a fried egg.Prices were okay. As for the breakfast burrito, the one of us who ordered it said it was mediocre, and the tortilla was store-bought and soggy. My boyfriend said his burrito bowl, which was sausage, eggs, and cheese with red sauce was just okay, and my sandwich was good but definitely something I could have made at home.

I live here, and their food is excellent. The Rolled chicken tacos with salsa, and beans and rice is perfect
