Melvin came to my house to give an estimate for installing air conditioning in my 3,000 sq ft house. I told him I was thinking about a 5 ton for the upstairs and a 3 ton for downstairs, but that he was the expert and could give me his opinion. He clearly cannot handle anyone who can speak intelligently about his business because he became insulting, wanting to know where "those numbers came from". I thought he was rude because I was a woman, speaking SEERS and BTUs, but I read a lot of reviews and saw he also demeans men. I don't have time for chest thumping and workers who don't know good customer service from their.... I escorted him out. Deb said Melvin was their only guy and also indicated they knew he interacted with people unprofessionally. And yet they do nothing about it? Their loss. I'm moving on to a company who is not threatened by people who have knowledge about their business. Kind of makes you wonder: what do they want to get away with?

Zero star would be awarded if it available. I called on Wednesday and made appointment for Friday to do sewer line camera inspection. Guy asked me all info he needed and confirmed 8:30 am. So I took day off on Friday and then nobody show up for this conformed appointment. After one hour of waiting on property and many calls to the office finally someone responded and told me something happened in their system and they don't have my appointment scheduled and do to eclipse event they are short on staff. And they definitely can do it on Monday but they don't want me schedule now. On Monday, Tuesday and next day nobody called to reschedule an appointment. Afterward: not recommended at all!

Melvin came out and said this was a big jobI had already spent an hour digging a 3 foot deep hole.I found the pipe. He said he would make a hole 5 times bigger and that he would need heavy equipment. He said it was a big job and gave an estimate of 2000 dollars.The leak was in the driveway of my moms house. She is 75 years old.He made it seem like he would have to dig half the driveway out.He even painted an area for digging to be 300 square feet.I was not sure of this guy so I took a day off work and waited for their crew to come with their backhoe.One guy showed up with a shovel and spent half hour digging a little more to find the leak. I asked him where is the backhoe and he said he would not need it.As soon as I saw the leak I realized that Melvin was a crook. His man spent a half hour finding the leak and would have spent another 1 hour maybe fixing it. I sent the guy home and called TLC.He wanted to charge a 75 year old woman 2000 dollars for 2 hours of work.He is a crook don't ever trust him.TLC wanted 500 for the work.I eventually went to JLC who did the work for 167.50Melvin did return the 700 dollar check in the mail.And it took less than 30 minutes to complete the work.I hope he learns not to treat people so dishonestly.

I just had to pay another company to fix the sloppy job they did. My new swamp cooler was apparently just set on top of venting - no retrofitting from the square opening of new cooler to rectangle vent. Geeze

Kerby was on time and very polite. He evaluated the issues with our hot water tank since it was leaking out a lot of water. He showed me what the issue was explained how he will fix it and before starting he gave me a quote. Kerby was fast and he had great customer service. My husband found Abel Plumbing and heating on Angie's list. We will use them again. Thank you Kerby.

Swamp cooler stopped working in the middle of 97 degree weather Abel plumbing was able to provide same day service-came out diagnosed the problem and fixed it very reasonably in less than one hr. Very professional, very efficient, and very responsive to the need.

I called this am and Melvin came out to give me and estimate for installing a new outside faucet. They came the same day and installed it They were prompt, courteous and did a fine job. I will definitely use them again.

Called the Abel Plumbing guy on the phone and asked for some basic information about an air conditioning unit installation I had in mind. Most places will at least talk over your options with you. But this guy immediately began throwing around industry jargon and assuming that I knew nothing at all. (In fact, I had done quite a bit of preliminary research.) I understand they have to see the place to give an accurate price, but this dude was not even a little bit friendly and he refused to provide even rudimentary information for the cost of an installation. In my opinion the person who answers the phone at Abel Plumbing was condescending and curt. I won't use this service, ever.

Are plumbers suppose to unhook your gas pipe from the water heater if it isn't upgrade up to code with the city with Remove flex from t&p line, add quake straps, add expansion tank, anddrip leg. These are necessary repairs to bring water heater up tocity/state code.??? was going to charge me $1000.00Abel Plumbing and Heating Co. LLC Will I had to call a Plumbing co. to try to turn on an apt. water heater that turned off. They had turned it on but notice it wasn't up to code with the earthquake straps. I was very upset with the price the plumber quoted me on to upgrade. Supplies aren't even more than $100.00 to purchase. When I said I could not afford the cost at this time. he turned off the water heater gas as well as unhooking the connecting pipe. Very disappointed with this service. I felt like they were bullying in to go with the cost of the upgrade where I could not afford. I would understand if it was replacing the water heater with the upgrade to code at somewhat that price. But not for the supplies required for the upgrade. Turning off the gas and unhooking the pipe was a little extreme. !! Beware of this Plumbing and Heating Co. They are a ripoff!!!

The owner Melvin will be rude both to your face and behind your back. He is especially dismissive of women. Their prices are over the top and Melvin will rush his workers and leave sloppy jobs half done to move on to bigger money earning jobs. Matt, the tech was the only good thing about my experience. He was polite and explained everything well even with his boss berating him from the sidelines.
