My very first shrimp po boy ever at Taste of the Caribbean. (It was a delicious "happy accident"as we were tight on time and I didn't have the heart to state that I miscommunicated while ordering.) I had intended on ordering pulled pork, so I have an option already set for next time. Hubby got the jerk chicken (if you like spicy while it enhances the flavor, this will be right up your alley) with rice and beans, but already tucked into it by the time I remembered to take a photo. To drink, we shared a virgin strawberry daiquiri, to pair with the island theme. We did have a little bit of wait in this small location, but considering it was a husband and wife operation, and they were super sweet, we didn't mind. Definitely felt welcomed and look forward to come back. 4/5

Whatever you do - do not get the Po Boy! Stick with the classic Caribbean dishes. Even then, the food is okay. If you're not used to Caribbean food or want to try it for the first time - then I think this is the perfect spot for you. None of the seasonings are over powering. It's a great spot to dip your toes in and try something different.

This small spot has all the flavors I needed to cure my taste buds from home. With a great location and SO much potential, this family-owned restaurant could really make an impact in the community. The wait time was a little long as there was a big order the main chef was cooking up at the time we were there. I would love to see this space used as more than just the restaurant.

Came here more than 5 times and each time the quality slowly but surely decreased. I don't know if it the time I'm going or what, but it is not like the first time I went. I hope to see improvement soon

Randomly walked in because nothing else was open much. Lovely guy at the register. Ordered the barbecue ribs- I hate bbq sauce but those ribs were falling off the bone and made fresh and lovely to eat. The roti goat curry thing was MasterChef level stuff. I mean the goat curry had curry and beautiful bursts of flavor but it somehow did not ooze out of the roti. The roti was double layered and had their "secret homemade" spice rub inside. We have something very similar in our cuisine (Bengali cuisine) and I bet it was lentils with a bunch of spices all cooked and ground to a powder. That's a lovely dish I cannot seem to forget. Also got oxtail curry with rice and beans - again the meat was falling off and tender and the spices complimented beautifully with the meat. Went perfectly with the rice and beans. Omg I live too far but I can't forget this meal! Order some ginger beer and you will possibly have one of your most unforgettable meals.

It's been some years since I've been here. Been passing them by for some weeks now, so I said let me try them out today. I'm so glad I did the service was great and place was very clean. Food was hot and ready in a reasonable time. Thank You again for your wonderful service and food.

I ordered through grubhub. The order was over a half hour late . but when it arrived, the meat was tough, and appeared to be the end of the day remnants. The food appeared, slapped together in a hurry . The tapas plate that I ordered was mushy , not crisp . I have ordered from this restaurant in person in the past, and the food was excellent. I'm sorry that a to go order has gone downhill. I ended up feeding most of it to my dogs. I did receive a $10 refund from Grubhub.

Getting into the restaurant is tricky because the stairs from Central are all cordoned off, but the tricky path around from the rear parking is so very worth the effort! If you have a tiny budget and need a quick bite, my absolute favorite thing on the menu is the Jamaican beef patty. The savory stew baked into a yellow turmeric-pastry pocket is like edible sunshine and homey warmth.I'm also a huge fan of the jerked chicken in all its derivations, though I think I like the jerked wings appetizer the best. Jamaican jerk seasoning has all the flavors at once, savory, sweet, spicy, and the balance at A Taste of the Caribbean is pure perfection. We've tried about half the menu by this point, and state with confidence that everything has been consistently top quality.

A Taste of the Caribbean was great tonight, yet again. We had different versions of the jerk chicken in a sandwich, a dinner and in chicken wings. The flavor and zip of the spices are delight. Try the red soda, the hibiscus scented sweetness balances nicely with a spicy food.

Food was amazing, lots of flavor and the seasoning was perfect for me. The jerk chicken wings were very tender & fell right off the bone! The rice & beans were delicious along with the cabbage. Loved the oxtail, I wish it came with a bigger portion though..Service was great, the lady that took my order was very helpful with the menu & super nice.10/10 overall, would recommend if you're looking for Caribbean food in the area
