Albert's Fresh Mexican Food

First time here and the staff were friendly, the place was clean and the food was great. I'd rate this higher than the average Mexican taco shop. I got the flying saucer which was big and had never tried it.

Whatever you do, do not and I repeat, do not order the big beef rolled tacos with American GUACAMOLE!!! I made the mistake of ordering this dish and the guacamole and cheese on top were very, very slimey like the same consistency of bodily fluids. I bit down into the taco and the illusion of a cheese pull was greatly noticeable. So much so I started vomiting profusely. I am 100% sure my food was spat upon. I immediately pulled over to vomit in front of a convenience store down the road. So disgusted by what I experienced I simply finished throwing up threw tge food in the dumpster in front of the business and drove home very sick to my stomach to take medicine. This is very heartbreaking and I assume I frustrated the cooks by ordering the tacos regular and after I Sat down and looked at the menu again to see that actually offered American GUACAMOLE, I asked them to change it to American guac and they took awhile and I heard coughing coming from the kitchen. I am disgusted and I will never return to this location. Used to really like the rolled tacos because they are big and the filling had flavor. Now I am just grossed out.

The lady at the register was very hospitable. Phone rang and she answered and put them on hold because she already greeted us so that was nice. Place is very spacious with plenty of seating in the main, seating in the bar area and some outdoor seating. They have TVs to keep you entertained with the latest sports or news. Very clean. Girls bussed tables when they weren't busy taking or expediting orders. Automatic 5 stars...Orange Bang! That's why I took the picture of the machine. Very old school and love this drink. Very hard to find a place that still carries it. Score...they do!Food was good. Good size portions. Tacos were so big we could have shared it. Rolled tacos are waaaay bigger than other Mexican restaurants. Rice and beans were both really good.

Rate 3.5 Haven't been here in a long time and thought I'd try it out again. I have mixed feelings as it's not consistent. Ordered some burritos. They were nice in size, but what matters is the flavor and quality of the food. I think it was average. Good but nothing extra special about it. The green sauce is good too.

We went to Alberts Mexican Food restaurant in El Cajon Rancho San Diego area last week. The food has always was fantastic. It always has a unique flavor. We got to sit in the bar since there was seating, which is unusual because this place is usually packed. The ambience is a sports bar Showing various sporting events on TVs throughout the bar and the services impeccable one of the few restaurants that still gives you free salsa and chips while you sip your drinks and prepare to place your order. I think this is why Albert has done so well at all his restaurants and continues to do so.I recommend the three that I've tried La Mesa, Lakeside and Rancho San Diego El Cajon locations. Especially the one in El Cajon Rancho, San Diego, since it does have a bar on the side for those like to watch sporting events and mingle with their friends.

I called in an order for Carne Asada fries, and the young woman told me 10 minutes which is great and normal. When I got there, the food was not ready and it was another 10 minutes to wait. Kind of confusing but the food looks OK. My kid thought this was a bit undercooked but she seemed happy.

The Staff here is always nice, and friendly, and the food, we'll let me say this is the only Taco Shop I will eat at in El Cajon. My go to on the menu is the SC Cougar Burrito, the Chicken Burrito, and the Big Chicken Rolled Tacos. The salsa is always great, and for to go orders they give you plenty of. The bar area is nice if you want to stay for a drink or two.

Everything you expect in a Mexican restaurant and very fresh ingredients staff was very friendly and efficient.

Albert's Mexican food is always a MUST when I come home to visit my parents. I have tried so many other similar restaurants and by far Albert's is the most authentic and delicious! Their staff is always welcoming and accommodating whenever I walk in. Prices are very reasonable and portions are big. Can't recommend this restaurant enough! LOVE!

Go here every week. High quality food. Prices and service is great. Great place to sit in the bar for a drink, Mexican Food and a game or two.
