WHO CHANGED THE MATCHA AT AJS???!!!I have been getting AJs matcha for the past 4 years and have always thought it is the best matcha in Arizona. Today I got my regular order and it tasted entirely different. It was very grassy and not sweet at all. I went back inside and was horridly informed that they changed the matcha they use. They offered to add vanilla to sweeten it but it still did not taste the same. I am very sad and am posting this review in hopes that they change back to the matcha they used to use.

Great place to shop for unique food and drinks. Top quality. I love it here. Definitely recommend you try the fresh food.

The deli is great for la quick and reasonably priced unch, either takeout or sit at the nice outside tables. I had three sides: kale and quinoa salad, bean salad and cranberry tuna salad, a perfect healthy lunch.

As an expensive store, I expect quality customer service, but the cashier charged me twice on two (overpriced) items. When I went back in, I waited a long time for a manager, and the flower desk announced my waiting for him three times (it wasn't that busy in there), and when he finally arrived, he didn't really care about the extra charges or my time and inconvenience, he wasn't apologetic, so it makes me reluctant to shop there at all. On the plus side, I like that there's a lot of locally produced items, which makes creating a unique gift basket or care package is easy.

You really can't go wrong at AJs Fine Foods. Their food is top notch, the service is pleasant and helpful, and ambiance is nice. The store is decorated according to a prevailing holiday; in this case Easter. They have a nice selection of flower that you may not see at many stores. The fragrance from the lilies and captivating. Shared parking and WiFi.

This AJ's still seems to have friendly staff even if they do stand blocking the aisle. Val Vista sometimes the staff is friendly sometimes not so I'm assuming it's a management thing.Love the selection and looking at all the different things they have that other places don't carry, they have quite alot of local offerings I bought Noble Bread for my chicken salad sandwiches.

Elena gets a major thank you! I requested a bouquet the day of the event. I was on my way to a Celebration of Life event for a friend & coworker. The community wore blue to honor him, so I wanted a bouquet of blue flowers. Elena happily and promptly helped me. She asked what my budget was for the bouquet, and then said it would take only 10 minutes. And in 10 minutes she made a beautiful bouquet on the spot and met my budget. Lovely!Only thing is I didn't see a little card, I forgot to ask for one so make sure you do when you request them to make you a bouquet.

I want to give credit where credit is due. AJ's was the only place open and actually stocked this morning during K9 crisis. Manager at front desk knew exactly where to find peroxide and charcoal pills, and when it was evident it was time critical she helped me efficiently locate both. Customer service thoughout store has gotten markedly better this year. There is a young female manager with black hair who has been very helpful and the young guys in the butcher/fish/meat section are quite good. They make shopping a positive experience and seem happy to help.I'm really glad that things have gotten markedly better and consistently so in customer service at the store. I am happy to support quality coupled with good service.

I am a big AJ's fan and I stop at this store on occasions because it is near my work. It is located in the Uptown Plaza which is one of my favorites areas in the Valley. This part of Phoenix is like a mini foodie paradise with all of the great restaurants around here. AJ's has been around since the 80's and is the anchor store of this plaza. My favorite thing about AJ's is grabbing a cup of coffee or tea and sitting out on the patio and reading a book or catching up with the news. I have had many relaxing mornings chilling out on this patio. At the bakery counter, AJ's has delicious pasties, baked goods and desserts. They also have beverage service that includes coffee, espresso drinks and iced tea. What brings me back here is their souvenir Yeti mugs. They offer $1 regular coffee or iced tea refills with them. I like to stop by the bistro area because they offer many chef-prepared meals to take home or eat on the patio. There are a variety of meats, sandwiches and salads to choose from. There is also a build-your-own salad and soup bar. If you like pizza, AJ's makes hand-tossed pizza that is baked in a wood-fired oven. In addition to food, they sell home décor, gift items and flowers in the floral section.

We wanted a birthday but they told us to F off saying we need to order something 48 hours in advance. We just wanted a regular cake with "happy birthday - " on it , it's surprising to me that they don't have any cakes already premade or available for anyone to purchase given that they just wanted a cake. They offered no alternatives to our request. Pretty wack for a wanna-be bougie store
