We have been shopping at this AJ's, both when we lived here and whenever we in town for a visit. The prices are typical AJ's, which are somewhat full. But, it's still the only place in the Valley where I can pickup some specialty items. They stock Peter Lugar's steak sauce (yep), Gold's Horseradish, Desert Gardens mixes and dips, aged balsamic vinegars, along with several Münchner bräuhaus Weißbiers. Today AJ's is still owned by Basha's, so several of these items can be purchased there. But it's limited and some items are not always in stock. NorCal based Raley's Supermarkets purchased Bashas' a few years ago and promising to keep the formats and store names the same, they even kept Edward Basha III as president. Nice. Btw, the employees are all very nice and will go of their way to help find what you are looking for.

Might not be the review you're looking for...but AJ's has the best biscuits & gravy I've had in AZ.Maybe ever? The gravy just feels home cooked. And I know, it's served cafeteria style, but don't knock it until you try it. Just trust me. Trust my tastebuds. Trust this review. And if I'm wrong, hit me up and I'll convince you that I'm right. As for AJ's, my wife and I love this place.I feel bad for the people who's had less than a 5 star experience. But the B&G..I'm telling yall.

My friend and I decided to ride our bikes here for brunch. I haven't been to an AJ's in years so was game. What a pleasant surprised. They had a omelette station, people were lining up to get their customized omelettes. So manyOptions to choose from, sandwiches to pizza, to pastries, soups, takeHome meals. We looked around and also had Valentine's Day items which was superCute. I opted to get a sandwich, went with the "AJ's combo" on sourdough. It was so good. Hit the right spot. My friend had the speciality pizza (1 slice) which was awesome. Sue gave me a bite. So good. Overall I would come back here again to try other items. The grille outside was open. Looks like yummy hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. Would recommend to others wanting a chill place to go for brunch or lunch.

6 for AJs Fine Foods!!Oh my gosh is this our favorite place. Nothing wrong with Fry's and Safeway, but it's nice to change it up every once in a while for an experience you can get at a place like this.So many local groceries. Everything is so organized when you walk in. Not a fruit misplaced. The service is friendly and you can tell people love to work there. They have a couple little trinket sections that you can totally get lost in and find yourself buying something for someone because it made you think of them.We love getting the hot breakfast here, especially the mouth watering biscuits and gravy. Ohhhh my goshhhh the biscuits and gravy. You're welcome ahead of time.

Sad to say the service has gone WAY down, as prices only go higher. I'm writing this after repeatedly being sorely disappointed with how little customers are valued at the location close to my home. Sadly the manger on duty today was a big part of the problem, so I felt compelled to update my previous review here. If you are going to charge a premium for items (including the exact same items you can get for far less elsewhere) then I would expect the high prices to be coupled with great service and certainly basic respect.Today was pretty much the final time I will waste my time.To give context, there has been a pattern over the last six months where if you go after 6pm, expect to be treated like a nuisance. Deli counters turn off lights, I've heard customers discouraged from ordering pizza at 7pm because "we close the pizza at 8." If you try to get sushi past 6pm you will get bad attitude and told "I close at 630" even though sign at front says 7.I've gotten passed to as many as 3 counters just to buy a soda at 715 pm. And with zero graciousness.Today I tried to check out. One lane had one customer. The other had the store manager and another employee gossiping and laughing, backs turned to customer lane entry. Took a bit to get their attention. I said please keep hot and cold items separate. They proceded to go back to yammering to each other about which employee was at which location, gossiping, zero engagement with me. The other employee placed cold items directly on top of hot, zero care for anything beyond gossiping with his boss. Then the manager carelessly knocked open my soup. That was the only time I was addressed directly. He said you want to go get more? Like I was his employee. At first I said just take off the soup. The one employee acted like that was an inconvenience. I said just cancel the order. The manager did, by individual item, no care as to why.I'm fed up. I've heard other customers be very confused why it feels like everything is closed at 630pm.I was excited when I moved near this store, I thought it would be a great thing for me.Honestly they treat people better at Walmart. I really hope this gets addressed. It's ridiculous. The lady at the sushi bar earlier in the day is great. And I really like their sushi. But the overall experience is so bad currently I will not support it. With so many grocery chains around you'd think the one charging **by far the very most** would have a LOT more pride in customer service.

Stop in for a tea or coffee. Not only is it a great place to shop, but the breakfast bar is high quality. The bacon is fantastic and the eggs are fluffy and light. I know it's just scrambled gas but they make them better than some restaurants.

They're trying too hard. Unique items to purchase, but prices are high and they give you the feeling they are trying to be the Starbucks of grocery stores.Interesting mood lighting (but it's a grocery store, not a French restaurant) and employees are not as friendly as you would expect for a retailer that presents themselves as they do.Stick with Whole Foods and Sprouts.

It makes zero sense that you have to stand in line to buy a bagel. There are no fresh bagels out in the bakery section. Only behind the counter where you can plan to wait awhile before your number is called. There is are better and more efficient ways to let customers buy bagels. I will not be back to this store ever. Bagels are 1.25 each and they aren't even good.Fry's bakery is way better AND way less expensive. So good job serving sub par baked goods after making customers wait for their number to be called. You've definitely reached the not even worth it mark. The least the store could provide are baked goods that are worth the wait.

I ordered my parent's 50th anniversary cake and Shannon was very helpful with the options. I went with a two tiered cake with fresh roses and it turned out beautifully. Exactly what I wanted. Even better, the cake was FANTASTIC. I am not a cake person but the white cake with fresh fruit filling was amazing. Everyone loved it. Probably the best cake I've ever had. Highly recommend.

Came here and the cafe area has an odd system of getting a number BEFORE ordering?? Usually when i get a number, it is to pick up my order. Anyways, when i was unaware of this, the female brunette barista gave me the most judgmental stare after i stated i was unaware of this odd operation. As im trying to order, she continues to give me a very judgmental stare instead of helping me out. Would not recommend coming here even though it is nicely priced. The baristas are rude and must hate their jobs!
