Ahi Pacific

Wow, what a find! They've only been open for a couple of months, but the attention to detail and the attentiveness of the waitstaff was only bested by the delicious food of which we partook. A few of the entrees were not available, but we had the cajun mahi-mahi and the sesame-encrusted ahi. Both were fantastic.Parking is pretty typical of downtown La Jolla, so plan some extra time to either find parking, or be prepared to pay at a lot or garage. But, whichever you choose, make a point of coming to Ahi Pacific!

Ahi Pacific is the latest eatery to try its hand at a beautiful suite on Prospect St in the La Jolla Cove area. A few outside tables near a heat lamp were arranged in front, otherwise most of the seating was inside at the bar or dining room. The two-page menu was made up of starters, entrees, sides, and drinks. The words 'Fresh Seafood' was listed on all of the business logos and signs, yet the seafood selections were limited to five fish entrees, shrimp ceviche, and fried calamari.The last item was what I picked to start my meal. Several pieces of flash fried squid were served on a plate with sweet chili and house aioli as dipping sauces along with wedges of lemon and lime. The crispy, light batter applied to the squid was fine. The issue was the portion size which was meager for $20. This dish arrived pretty quickly to the table as opposed to the other half of my order which was the Fish Tacos.A grilled fillet was wedged inside a corn tortilla that was coated with fried cheese. Pico de gallo and cilantro crema were the toppings. I liked the crispiness that the cheese added to the trio of tacos. The owners took the time to greet the customers since the business opened not too long ago. If they can expand the menu offerings and spread the word about their presence along this touristy strip of the village, then Ahi Pacific will have a chance.

This is a new MUST-visit spot in the village of La Jolla. The owners are a super kind, young couple who welcomed us in during lunch time. They come from a hospitality background and were very excited to begin serving regularly! The fish is extremely fresh and quite incredible! First off, the location on Prospect street is prime. They have a nice outdoor patio with a few tables for people watching on the street. The inside is meticulously designed with modern, nautical decor - and they still plan to add more pieces! Living and working in the village of La Jolla for years, I have had the most difficult time finding a go-to poke bowl in the area. Look no further! We ordered both the salmon bowl and the ahi tuna bowl. The salmon bowl was lightly covered in a delicious sriracha aoli. The tuna was in a flavorful sesame and soy mix. Both cuts of fish were impressive and cubes were the perfect bite size. Lastly, we ordered the yellowtail tostada - again a perfect cut of fish with delicate yet flavorful taste. The portions of all dishes were very generous and worth the price! The owners mentioned how the menu will evolve and I can't wait to come back for more!

I had the fish and chips...very good and a generous portion! Shout out to Alex and Ryan for providing prompt but unobtrusive service! The location is within walking distance of tons of La Jolla shops...perfect for a light snack or full on meal! Ambience was nice with music loud enough to set the mood without preventing meaningful conversation! Give it a try!

The food was delish! Ryan, my server, was the bomb! The overall atmosphere & vibe super nice!

We visited Ahi Pacific while in La Jolla. We were seated at a comfortable table inside, right by the doors, enjoying the cool air. I ordered a glass of red wine, and my sister took advantage of the $10 bottomless mimosas during happy hour. I initially wanted the clam linguine, but since it wasn't available, I chose the mussels instead, which were delicious. My husband ordered the ahi meal and said it was the best he's ever had. My sister got the fish and chips and loved it, particularly the spectacular fries with aioli. I was looking forward to the butterscotch pudding for dessert, but they were out of all desserts as they are revamping the menu. It was disappointing that they were out of two menu items and all desserts; they should be better prepared. Despite this, the service was outstanding.

Great spot! It's new to La Jolla, which I didn't know as it's my first time here in San Diego. They seem to really care about owning their place and take a lot of pride in the work. It's a bit pricey but pretty standard for the area from what I saw. The salad and oysters I had were exactly what I wanted. No ocean view, but great spot for people watching. This is a 'good' seafood restaurant. The ceasar salad with seared ahi was very good. the oysters on the half shell were good albeit small, For the prices charged, I would have expected better. A side of sourdough bread was $9. Great restaurant if you are on a business expensable dinner, but for my own money I hope I can do better elsewhere in La Jolla.

This place is wonderful! The food is high quality and cooked to your liking and perfection. The staff was super aware of your needs, and very kind! Trevor, the owner, came out and had a conversation with myself and my lady. Andrew, Alex and Ryan did a wonderful job as a team serving my table. We also had a great conversation with Gary, the manager of the restaurant. Guadalupe, the hostess, was such a kind soul greeting us into the restaurant! If you don't go here you don't know good food and customer service in La Jolla and in SD!!!! 11/10 would definitely recommend this spot. They also have bottomless mimosas until 7pm with any entree!!!!!

Ryan was absolutely AMAZING. So sweet and such fast service!! Food was so good and tasted so fresh. The drinks are so delicious. Definitely come here if you're in the area!
