Agavero Cantina - Atlanta

I'm so sad to write this today. We come here every week because it was our favorite spot. Once Juan the bartender left and Fatima things went downhill. The bartender today from receipt her name was kensy. What an unkind human... a hello would've just changed everything but she couldn't do that. Instead of talking to the people working she could've checked on us once we got our food since I didn't have a side of sour cream or utensils for a good 8 minutes. Typically we go for a few margs and food have a good time but this girl made it feel like we should just leave. AND THATS WHAT WE DID. I mean she should not be in front of customers she was awful. Keeping her away from customers would be a good change to the whole environment there.Our food of course was perfection but whoever this bartender is. Changes should be made. The most unwelcoming human "do you want food" I could say so many more things but wow super upset with her. You went from having the two best bartenders on the westside that were kind, funny, and personable to a mean grinch. Sucked any enjoyment that was there.

i've only ever gotten their chicken soup takeout and i love it! great portion for $10, you basically get an entire deli container of soup. salsa is pretty vinegary which i like! good chips I'm partial to other mexican restaurants in the area, but agavero is definitely in my soup rotation!

I wish I could give this place 4 stars. But we were deceived. Great vibe, amazing and addictive queso, really nice margaritas. But I just don't understand how a simple lunch turned into $120 for two. Could have something to do with the pre-added 20% gratuity. Tough. Nice vibes all around, but come with your wallet ready!!!

Love dining here. Excellent and quick service. Friendly servers and hosts. Reasonably priced delicious Food. Great margaritas. They have a decent patio when the weather is nice. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. Free parking in the deck and on the street at the time of the review.

I left this place a five star review several years ago. At the time it was well deserved. Hadn't been there for dinner in a while as I moved away from midtown.Yesterday we were in midtown and decided to stop at an ole' favorite.I'm sorry to say it just isn't as good as it used to be.Service is still excellent. So I'll move to the drinks and food. We got a pitcher of spicy pineapple margaritas, our favorite. But now, the pitcher is filled to the brim with ice first. Little room for the good stuff.We both opted for the especial taco salad. The first thing we both noticed was the taco bowls were considerably smaller. Had plenty of meat, so can't complain there. The issue was it was just meat and sauce. No lettuce whatsoever, even tho it's clearly listed as an ingredient. You might think that's okay until you try it. Turns out you really need the lettuce to balance the flavors out and make it a salad. It was just a bland, meaty, soupy mess.On a brighter note, the beef - queso dip was still top tier for the Atlanta area. If we go back, it will probably be just for a drink (not a pitcher) and the beef dip. But will probably just skip it.

I loved Agavero and feel grateful to have finally found Mexican worth my time in the city! This is casual dining but still great for an impromptu date night. And the food does not feel casual at all!I got the blackberry infused margarita which was really delicious - the right balance of tart and sweet, with your choice of rim spice. We ordered the cantina dip which was delicious. The flavor and spice level of the dip are great for all ages. We didn't need all the meat either - next time I think we'll just add some guacamole.The complimentary chips and salsa are absolutely tasty - of course we got full on those before our entrees came.For entrees we got the Camarones Las Diabla - BOMB, 10/10 would definitely get again. It is pretty spicy but very flavorful - definitely tastes like a slow simmering sauce. I built tacos with all the other sides and still had plenty to take home. The shrimp are large and the portion is generous.The other entree was the pork burrito - my friend did not come up for air until he was finished so, 9/10. Great service here too. Can't wait to come back!

Visited Agavero for the first time with a coworker for lunch. Free street parking was available and easily accessible. I really enjoyed this spot! Despite the lunch rush, we were seated immediately and service was quick! Our server gave great recommendations. I had the strawberry infused margarita which was delicious. For my meal, I had the lunch chimichanga special. It was so flavorful and yum. Highly recommend it. We also had the churros which were a great dessert with caramel in them?? I'll definitely be back for more!! Definitely recommend stopping in.

The food was good, 7/10 We took carryout so no comment on the service or ambiance but the person who I spoke with was very nice.However, when we ordered online, the price totaled out to $29.28 but when we went to pay in person, they said the total came out to be $37.98 due to a substitute that was listed as free online. The order was already prepared, so I didn't want to be rude and paid for it anyways but next time I will not be so tolerant.
